You guys are honestly one of my favorite channels on all of RUclips. As a fellow sneakerhead, I've learned a ton about how shoes are actually made and how tech is implemented, material builds, strobels, lasts, history, etc. from Chris and he explains it so well while still sounding like a regular dude who just has a passion for sneakers. The banter between Chris and Mrs. Wing is always entertaining. Every video is a perfect balance of education about the product, reviewing the product, providing two (sometimes very) different perspectives on it, and light hearted comedy and stories. Keep doing what you're doing guys, and always stay true to it. 💯
hey everyone! We hope you're all doing well. Today we have a detailed look at the new VaporMax 2020. Let us know your thoughts on the design and sustainability topic and we'll see you in the next one!
Yep if they didn't create the problem then we wouldn't need a solution but here we are. Moving forward companies could rethink their manufacturing strategy in order to reduce waste production.
Great work guys! Truly appreciate the dedication to the reviews and luv the commentary after breakdowns. Air max shoes got “reclassified” to the lifestyle/sportswear category and aren’t really considered running now. Which may explain why they weren’t marketed as upper tier running.
They came out in 2017, depending on your level of athleticism... you can run in them... I've ran football routes in mines slants, hooks with no problems
Fantastic video! That conversation about environmental waste, sustainability, solving a problem they've (and we've created), etc. was really damn good. The follow-up story of your son making a running gag out of sneakily tightening your auto-lacing/FF sneakers is gold too lol. I don't love this design, but I agree that a Air Max Plus upper on this sole would pull me in. I'm really liking Nike's space hippie/recycled footwear stuff both in terms of colorways and as a general effort.
I personally love the vapormax line...and I’m excited for these. It’s so funny how they are sold out right now because of the association with the space hippie. I’m just excited for the new changes made. Please tell me there’s video of that prank being pulled!!! I’ll gladly pay-per-view!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
it's funny how Nike used to pushed this line as their premium running shoes. The Vapormax was never percieved as advance leveled shoes made for athletes. The air sole is expensive to make which results in the price that is on par with the vaporfly, vaporfly 4% or next%. But they dont have good traction, stability and latteral support which is crusial for professional athletes
I just got a pair of the smoke grey at Nike outlet or $95 and they are amazing. A lot more comfortable than the original vapormax which feel like your walking on football cleats. I looked up the video because I couldn’t get them as snug as I wanted to but I saw you pulled the hell out the lock strap and it worked lol
i just like the cushion of this shoes. i don’t usually use for running but just walking. i’m too scared on running with this shoes because of the bottom being uneven
I got a pair in the mail yesterday (also bought my girl a pair too). Loved them so much I happened to be at a shoe store today and they had the next colorway out early......I bought those too!
I remember buying some Nike shoes before that had no midsole. The upper was made entirely of FlyKnit and I really liked how comfortable it was to use for walking. This 2020 version of the Vapormax reminded of that shoe so I bought it. I’ll see how the FlyEase and AirMax cushion will be. I’ve never used a FastFit/FlyEase lacing system before, and it will also be the first time for me to use an all-AirMax cushion.
Been watch alot of ppl...& or about 3yrs he's been my favorite to watch! U get into mad detail & u move with your lady, that's dope! Idk if u did the jordan 1 satin snake 🐍 but if not do one they come out on my BDAY & i hit on them!
you guys made me smile the whole time 😁 ive had the vapormax for a month now and wear them everyday. so far their doing good. im just careful with release thing. good video guys 👌🐨
You do great reviews & have all the best/rare/ dopest sneakers but your shirt swag Game is by far more incredible than anybody’s I’ve ever seen, you’re definitely the shirt goat 👕 🐐
@WearTesters The VaporMax is 100% NOT a running shoe. It is a lifestyle shoe. If you go on the Nike website, you will see the VaporMax is listed under the 'lifestyle' section...
They’re the best Vapormax yet imo. Some of the design details are excellent and the outsole doesn’t feel as lumpy under feet as the og design. The ‘Grind’ segments on the air unit are supposed to be harder wearing than the rest of it. Only thing for me is the fast fit feels flimsy and doesn’t give even lockdown across the mid foot. Always good to see you guys reviewing a non-basketball shoe as well 👍🏼
Taking everything that you said about these into consideration, I still wished I would've pulled the trigger on 'em. They just look so dope! Appreciate your honesty as always. Thanks, Chris 🤙🏾
Really appreciate the reviews. All informative and fun conversation as well : ) Hoping a BB Nxt performance review is on deck soon. Keep up the awesomeness!
There weren’t as many products back in the 90s and the prices were lower. There are more products than ever before and they’re retailing at higher prices than ever.
WearTesters Thats true. I think it’s due to the increase in celebrity hype and collaborations. From the 90s to today, it’s like the sneaker culture drifted a lot further into the mainstream world of fashion and maybe that’s what accounts for the increase in price.
Thing about recycling is that you’re simply re-using waste. It doesn’t reduce the amount of waste we have in the world. Like you said, reduce the amount you use/create.
Matter cannot be created nor destroyed so how will they stop creating more without reusing what is already there? Maybe they should use biodegradable materials. I dont have the answers lol
Random and completely off Topic for the vid, but can you please do a review on the alternate Belair so I can see how they’re sized? I’ve got an 8.5 in alternate grapes and I’m conflicted lol
Regarding the recycling theme Nike is pushing recently a lot is more marketing than commitment.. You both have good points. It should be a reduced product pallet and also the outsole should not just be EVA, hardened foam or plastic since all of these create massive amounts of microplastic. Natural rubber out of sustainable plantations is still the best for the environment. Also you pointed out how flimsy the lace system feels. A company aiming for sustainability has to make sure that the products are long lasting (because this would mean less new stuff, less garbage...) and if a crucial mechanism like that feels flimsy after just a couple of days I would be concerned about the product's lifetime. I am glad that Nike, Adidas, Levis and many more are using more recycled materials. Almost everything we nowadays consider "garbage" are key resources of ttomorrow and good news is, many recycled methods and products are already profitable. In Europe companies are popping up creating ethically and environmentally friendly products while still making a profit (Veja, Flamingos Life, PinqPonq, ...). However recycling isn't perfect either. Germany for example pads itself on the shoulder for its advanced bottle recycling policies and mechanisms. Unfortunately in chemistry lessons I learned that many PET-bottles Germany uses are not truly recycled since most profitable methods depend on a mixture of old and new plastics to create bottles of the same quality. However, I am glad bigger companies with huge impact are slowly moving into a more sustainable direction because this will lead to shifts within the market and policiea, making sustainability the "go-to/cheaper" option for production in a decase, hopefully.
Would be dope if the shoe companies had program for shoe fushion to recycle. Like if you have some vapormax and a presto, you can give that to a like store and for a small cost you can get a brand new pair that equals those combined models? Some form of shoe Pokemon center lol.
I love the idea to address waste. However at that price, it's really hard to sustainably support it. Let alone the public. I suppose this is the first step but hopefully these products become more affordable!
I bet they can make it affordable but they want to make it high end so people will want it then it will trickle down. Like for instance Tesla. Before them no one was really caring about electric cars but now its a status symbol.
I like the ugly sweater upper. cant wait for mine. glad u said they suck to run in cuz I just bought new runners before I saw the release date on these
Hey bro back in the day 98 I bought the jumpman pro varsity black,If u copped do you remember the strong leather smell of those.one of the strongest smelling sneakers I had.
It not having a midsole is interesting I believe the first generation vapormax had a comfort issue due to not having one later on the second generation added phylon but now they seem to have regressed to the first tooling on these
i had the vapormax 2 for a about a year just casual use and the harder glued on rubber pieces started peeling off. i returned it on got my $200 voucher, but now most of the nike products look like crap tbh that i've had my voucher for 6 months that i don't even feel like using.
I got bad knees so vapormax is the only sole i can go long in; not even UltraBoost is as shock absorbent...these new ones look thinner, do they bounce as well?
The shoe is comfortable, the problem im having with mine after just a week of wearing is the lacing system on top is starting too fray, 😥, and depending on the surface your walking on these are noisy
Got mine the other day. Love the back hate the front very comfortable overpriced and I feel like that thingy in the front is gonna break any second 😳 lowkey hate the shoe but I wanna love them 😩
NZ Kickchat aura totally feel you. I was gonna take them back but something says I’ll regret it. I think as the new colorways drop Nike will get the memo from all the feedback (hoping) that new colorway that’s dropping on the 6th is 🔥 I’m definitely getting those.
@@LyleValCoach Update: Love these shoes! They are so comfy easy to get on and off, supportive for the feet and they go with everything. I have four pair now.
These recycled products are amazing. It is sad that they don’t happen as often as we’d like due to these shoes not making enough profit. But I feel like if a company as big as Nike were to actually make an entire line of this and market it as they do their other flagship models, they’d start a great trend and force other companies to do the same. One can only hope.

Funny nike always finds these new cheaper materials , but the actual price of the shoes gets higher and higher
Harder to make ppl just annoyed
theyre not cheaper materials, recycling waste costs more time and money than just buying raw materials at wholesale prices.
hey everyone! We hope you're all doing well. Today we have a detailed look at the new VaporMax 2020. Let us know your thoughts on the design and sustainability topic and we'll see you in the next one!
Im all in for sustainability but shouldn't they be cheap? I mean the sole is made of air and they r made of trash..shouldn't they be cheaper?
The recycling process is anything but cheap.
I bought the recycled T-shirt they released and it came in the regular clothing plastic bag
What are the shoes bellow the pink omn1s called
@@Gabriel-dr9ru Arent those the "latest" And1 pairs Fred Van Vleet (Raptors) has been reppin
I have an original pair, and I think it´s one of the most comfortable ever made! I love them!
This version keeps you more balanced. No more rolling ankles or falling over when walking. This colorway is simply gorgeous!!!
Random thought: I appreciate that the camera angle changes when the video cuts. Been a fan since 2011.
Kinda hard to believe considering your account is 7 years old and thats 2 years lost kinda sketch if you ask me

The sole is so much nicer looking than the old Vapormax, but I never liked these kind of uppers.
Definitely a buy when a good upper comes out.
I would love a vapormax 2020 plus with a midsole like the vapormax plus had
Plastic Crack you mean colourway?
alvin hu yea I’m waiting for the black color
They'll probably do a utility upper for them at some point
Deffo although I like the looks of these. Never liked any of the previous uppers.
Thanks for the dialogue about waste and sustainability at the end!
Thanks for staying and watching 🙏🏼
