I can't get over that part at 2:00. When I heard it, I cried...and that's never happened to me while listening to music. Just a tear or two, but still. The past 5 years of my life has been hell...drug addiction, jail, lost jobs and apartments, lost relationships, depression, suicide attempts. I was ready to give up on life. Now, I'm finally taking back my life. I moved to a new city and the full impact of the hope I finally feel and re-falling in love with life only now hit me at that 2:00 part.
You broke into the fabric house of stranger Lafaye And there your heart was taken from you You have the blood of intuition With a name that branded you And the familiar, unfamiliar Would be the only thing you knew Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye Your birth became a place to sing and relive again And every death a love to choose A one to lose You are a chain of indecision Into a cloud that followed you And with a with no measure You brought a sun to guide you through Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye Oh Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
@BohemianConspiracy ... try copy and paste into the search -> Saxon Shore -- ♫ Angels and Brotherly Love [album version] Not one of the 80's, I just do not remember which song, but this is the band. ; )
@1Sonnar1 ...i don't know them... maybe i should give it a try... but it's goin' to be hard for them to be better than early 80s good rascal band Saxon...
@econogate haha...I hear you there. I write and record myself...got some stuff on my channel. I like this band...the shoegaze electronica element. But yes, sometimes it feels restrained...like they could have really taken the song somewhere by being a bit more inventive and creative. Good track though.
I'm still thinking more Kate Bush than either the other comparisons, as if she only started at the mid 80's point and went from that starting point. I hear Curve but I also hear Cocteau, but that's to me just the overall atmosphere, the songs seem more developed like Peter Gabriel or something like that, just more progressive and new wave sounding maybe.
@avedic Thanks, but I feel like this song could have used a lower pitch drop with the main verses, maybe it's you tube compression that ruins it, but i don't hear the low end and I keep thinking it could have had a half tempo chorus to really stretch it out and flesh it out more. I still like it I just feel like being a musician myself I hear what I want to add to the song when I hear, they did a great job, i just hear myself adding parts that don't exist, lol!
To me this is a true evergreen. I love this tune!🤗

That little chromatic bend at 2:05 was quite unexpected and instantly gives the song a mystical vibe. Love it...
RIP Benjamin :'(
when the tone after the chorus drops a semi tone and then comes back....talk about shivers down the spine. wasn't expecting that.
god this song makes me feel blissed out like nothing else. electronic tinged shoegaze really is the best thing that ever happened to music.
So re-freshing to hear new beautiful music that gives a nod & a wink to a very special era.
Cool song
You broke into the fabric house of stranger Lafaye
And there your heart was taken from you
You have the blood of intuition
With a name that branded you
And the familiar, unfamiliar
Would be the only thing you knew
Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
Your birth became a place to sing and relive again
And every death a love to choose
A one to lose
You are a chain of indecision
Into a cloud that followed you
And with a with no measure
You brought a sun to guide you through
Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
Oh
Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
Lafaye, la laa, Lafaye
What a perfect song!
Love it! Great!...The intro remind me a post rock band Saxon Shore.
Beautiful!
Looking forward to the rest of the album
