I’m not a “wall hanger” type but this deck, the Pride deck and the Black Label Emergency repop of the Santa Cruz graphic would be the ones to change my mind.
Awesome! This is definitely worthy of being a wall hanger, but I absolutely love its shape. So much, I might order a second one for when this one is worn out 🙌
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood You bet chief! Subbed of course! I visit the Black Label site quite often and noticed that graphic was only available as the 12XU shape. I dunno if he does secret “midnight sales” or dealer only issues, but I was definitely surprised to see it wasn’t the 12XU! That Darkhorse seems like a great deck. I learned slappy nose & tail slides on the ‘90 Street Thing deck. I’m so grateful to have that shape again. Cheers boss! 🌎🌏🌍👍🛹🛹🛹
Awsum video bro. I just received an Alva complete from Alva Skates last week. I'm 53 in a week and it's fantastic to see you in the little bowl ripping it up. Love those front side 50/50's. I really enjoyed your video of the Powell skate shop. Lots of memories there. Happy Birthday and what a gorgeous deck with the 2 brothers on it. Grosso Forever ! From Australia 👍👍👍👍
Happy 50 💪🏼 Wicked video Matt! Such a clean setup and you've sold me on a bearing press lol. I'm so jealous of that park...wish we had something like that close by.
Thanks Jason! LOL… on the press, I have a couple of old sets of Bones SPF that are a huge pain to get the bearings out. This is a game changer for those super hard wheels!
Happy birthday Matt ! Welcome to the 50 club. Great choice on the stage 4's. I have a set of Ace hollows on my Lucero Cross and stage 4's on my Cab. The turn radius is so similar I can barely tell the difference.
Great video as always and timely too - I’ve just been out on my mini Cab Dragon cruiser to take my daughter out for her first time street skating. I think I need a bigger, old skool wide fishtail board for when we go back to the skatepark though. Was toying with getting the Saiz or Caballero reissue to get back to the surfy feel of my old super-wide Trutoys ‘80s deck! Keep up the great work, inspirational!
Nice deck set up and video. Just like you, I rarely stray away from Bones Swiss bearings. I even think Bones Reds are better quality than many of the hyped-up and overpriced bearings that you see on the current market. And of course, I too always go with Rib Bones for rails because they are the best rails ever made.
Yes Matt, I love the Corey o Brian Reaper and the Kendall Atomic man. Eventually got round to setting a Instagram. 2builds 1os Skyway and a BSD ns build, check em out and tell what you think please Matt, thanks Ian
Thanks! So far I have mixed feelings, because it doesn’t always follow me. But probably 75% of the time it does well. I probably just need more experience with it to learn how get the most out of it 👍
Thanks!! 👊 I basically loop wire under the bolts and hook it on a screw, sort of like a picture frame. I made a video showing how I did it: ruclips.net/video/OVT4TLmitcU/видео.html
I’ve been riding Label decks since ‘88. I have the newer Street Thing and Red Cross. Best birthday wishes! The good news is he makes that shape with different graphics regularly. I never had that shape, but it is cool! EDIT: It’s the Darkhorse shape, not the 12XU shape.
That’s amazing! Thanks for the birthday wishes and sharing the name of the shape. It’s perfect for me and I’m pretty sure it’ll be my next shape too! 🙌
Thanks!!! It’s called Kinetic Park, it’s in the western suburbs of St. Louis, it has a lot more than what this video shows, but that little baby pool is my favorite!
i've never had a black label, but they are sick. i wish they'd reissue the ben schroeder crash test dummy graphic. stage 4s look nice. i really like the '90-'91 style shapes
Great video review! Lucero and Grosso are a huge part of why I still skate at 56 yrs old, They just made it fun! Looks like you had a blast on the new board. How did those 60mm work out with the 1/4” risers, no wheel bite? I’m on 56mm and looking to maybe upsize soon.
Right on. That makes sense about 14.5”. Other than trying to work on my ollie over that hip in the little baby bowl, I don’t olllie much these days… as my knees don’t hold up as well as they used to 🤣
i had that style of dragons. they felt like a tank due to the width. to bad the new wheels you got dont come in 60mm 95a. that was my goto ever since x bones came out
I'm kind of considering this black label shape for my next setup, and I'l already have a set of stage 4's and 60mm bones spf's. What size riser pads did you go with, and did you avoid wheelbite?

Haha! That’s great. In reality, these are presents from you guys by watching here on RUclips. I don’t make much off the channel, about $150 a month, but it’s enough to buy some cool stuff like this every so often. Thanks for watching 🙏🙌
Naa , no worries dude, as long as you keep spending them on Black Label boards and other stuff from the skate shops That's all we can ask for 🙏 and if they don't put Grosso and Luceros names up there on that wall tell em I'm coming with a small skate army to trash them 😄
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood stage 5 went to the more modern 'double-wing design' on the underside of the hangar that they've stuck with ever since, as opposed to the 'single-wing design' of the stage 4. that thin ridge that runs along the underside. the stage 7 has the 6-hole plates. 5 and 6 are almost identical, except for maybe anodized color options, and the 5 has more pronounced ridges on the underside where the 'double-wing' meets at the axle end.

That picture is the Perfect👌👌 representation of these two guys. Lucero and company are pure Gold to this old dog! 🙏
Couldn't agree more! It’s such a cool photo 🙌💥
New deck, new parts, new camera, new bearing press, now THATS a good 50th birthday. Welcome to the club. Treat Yo Self!

Thanks so much! The 60mm are good with the 1/4” risers, so wheel bite so far… but I do keep my trucks a little on the tighter side.
Cool build

Yeah, I’m sure there’s a better way than what I was doing. I naively assumed you could spin it and see the animation 🤣
