There are supporters of his who say this because of his humanitarian work after he was president. He introduced neoliberalism into our economics, which I think he may have later regretted, and perhaps even worked even harder to refurbish his legacy. I greatly appreciated his honesty and transparency, and it stands in stark contrast to the same background that exists in 2024. But we've been fighting the failed ideas of his successor ever since. He deserves to be held accountable for that
He also tried to improve the health care system but it never got anywhere one of the things he did get passed was a law to help people with mental illness. A law which Reagan stripped right back so as normal republican screwing over the people.
Regardless of what people think of Carter as a president, he was a great humanitarian who lived his life in service to others. And that's a damn rare thing.
Someone mentioned that the flags in government buildings have to be at half mast for 30 days. So technically they'll be at half mast during the inauguration. This must drive Trump mad haha.
Me, as someone who was born in Reagan time and lived since only know the myth of Carter and thinks he historically got a bad wrap as president. Think we could have done better in an alternate universe if we kept up with the pace of presidents to follow.
The USA was 200 years old while Carter was POTUS. Being born American felt like winning the lottery! 💙❤🩹💙 The USA will be 250 in 2026 w/Trump. Feels like winning an instant $10 lotto ticket that expired yesterday.

Very sad day. A true humanitarian.
He was a good man
He was a true humanitarian. We don’t get that much in political leadership anymore. He will be missed.
Beautiful
Integrity. For his whole life. Faithful to his God, his wife, his community and country. The contrast couldn't be more stark.
Great respect to a great humanitarian! Thanks!
Rip. Wonderful man. Thanks for covering this - and the way you did it.
Truly a outstanding example of what an American should be. Only my Dad instills in me such a warm feeling about another human being
Great humanitarian ! Thanks for his great work to help people in need!

I'm 64 years old and I can tell you:
He wasn't a great president, but he was a Great Man!
Rest in Peace, Jimmy 🇺🇲
My dad looked just like Jimmy Carter back when he was present they look like twins so when I see Jimmy Carter I think of my dad
My dad looked a little like President Ford my mother always said😅😅😅😅😅😅
If only he had a second term.
But he didn't. 😂
He was a great man, that is all there is to say about Jimmy Carter!
He may not have qualified as a "great" president (whatever that means) but he was certainly a good man who took his job seriously.
A true humanitarian, RIP! 😔
James Earl Carter, Best damned ex president America ever had.
Really? Then why wasn't he re-elected?

Carter and Mrs. Carter were the true meaning of being a Christian. They lived by example.
He was the first President I ever voted for and the only one I never regretted voting for.

After all the smack talk Rump did about Carter, I sure hope that he isn't going to the funeral. Anathema
Working with the government we receive the best raise ever 🙏👍

Yes Jimmy Carter was a great prez. But they worship reagan!
I thought the damage report doesn't associate with anything TYT? Y r there ads for TYT?
What is your problem?
When it comes to class and integrity Carter towers over Trump above and beyond.

Not really. Carter was elected in November 1976. He took office in January 1977.
