I remember trading in a game for this game at the swap meet when I was like 16. Man, these were really good times. Spent the whole summer playin this shit.
The speed upgrade of this game is what I remember the most. Before this game, EA put out those Lakers vs Bulls, Bulls vs Blazers and Bulls vs Suns games. The graphics and game play with those games were horrible. Before then, was Konami's "Double Dribble", which was unrealistic as hell, but a lot more fun to play. Live 95 took a lot from Double Dribble, with it's game speed, but kept the game somewhat realistic. Live 95 and Live 96 were great upgrades to NBA games.
I played this game faithfully! I remember the epic hard fouls in this game, you could run full speed and hit stick guys across the court. They would get up and shake their head lol. Flagrant fouls were called as well
I wish someone would take these old sports games and simply add online play to them! I would love to stay up all night playing against my old roommate just like we did when this game was new.
Used to play this all the time until someone stole it. I got '96 and like it (still play it), but the ability to block layups in '95 by following the shooter and jumping when they do is awesome and can't be done in '96. Used to do this all the time with Rod Strickland and the rest of the Blazers! '95 with the create/edit player feature of '96 would be the greatest game ever!
I liked how you could type in a current rookie in the "create a player" & it'd give you the actual players bio...height, weight, college, etc. Thought that was super cool of EA back then
Yes! I remember when I found that when I went to add Corliss Williamson and a few other rookies and all his correct info and attributes popped up! I then went in and added all the rookies from that year! One of the coolest discoveries I ever made in a video game to this day! I want to say there were other names you could put in too and they would show. Like legends and stuff.
Mark price was the best shooter....scored over 300pts all in 3s with a game total of 700 something...I remember it well...me and my brother could run back n forth nailin 3s as fast as you could run to the line...just got the release down I guess...
thank you for sharing this amazing memory of a game that was fun 2 play..but u actually gave to play better defense and also the Nets used to suck so nonder u had mad
everyone over looks sports games on NES and SNES. NBA live 95 is a VERY under rated game! because of all the great rpg and beat em ups on SNES.I suggest to anyone that wont give sports games on SNES a chance, to pick this one up. if it had the create a player like NBA live 96 did, this would be the BEST NBA game ever made! also pick up NBA JAM and FIFA soccer. you wont be disappointed!
damn, I played an entire season as Nets, I can still remember 20 years later how I set it alight with Kenny Anderson!! Not sure if I shot many threes though!!
Got my first job making like $400 a week at 14 years old, I bought this game the first check I got... I was a Warrior fan, Hardaway and Sprewell and Mullins was raw
I've noticed some nba games, if one person fouls out/injured, the game takes you to the menu and you can choose who substitutes. But in the other games, the computer chooses for you. Do you know any wii nba games that takes you to the menu if that happens
i remember it was impossible to injure someone on this game and my step brother at the tip off of the first game had o neal get hurt followed by a few more injurys and did absolutely horrible every game
Looks like nobody mentioned the sound in your video so I'll have to do it. You must be using a piece of crap emulator instead of bsnes (per-scanline accurate) because at :42 and many other places in the video, you can hear the sound skipping and speeding up its tempo. That is not what the game sounded like and you should have mentioned that in your description because nobody so far has even noticed but me.
thanks for this. but uh i jammed the game way better than that. 360 dunk with david robinson? oh yeah! Use to play it like crazy when i was 7. ahh the good days. Do you know how to unlock those other teams like the "blockers" and "stealers?" So sad i tried but never got to it.
@hippa2dahoppa2 Did I say i made the game?? No, when I said "we", I meant the people who played the game and how much the graphics has changed through the years.
I used to love this game. The graphics back then where incredible for a home console.
I loved playing with Golden State, Hardaway, Mullin, Sprewell and Webber!!!
When videogames were just fun and not so complicated. You gotta spend hours practicing today's moves and plays.
I remember trading in a game for this game at the swap meet when I was like 16. Man, these were really good times. Spent the whole summer playin this shit.
I remember switching out the chip set in the cartridge with Block Buster Video's. :( lol I was a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad widdle boy.
I remember when this came out i always loved the sound of the ball bouncing, it had a little bass to it. Which was new at the time
This game was a game changer. I remember my dad got this game for my 14th birthday. I was up all night playing this game.
The in-game stats as you played blew my mind as a kid. Played this for hours on a rental.
I used to play this almost every night. Mark Price was secretly OP.
Still better than live 14

I wish someone would take these old sports games and simply add online play to them! I would love to stay up all night playing against my old roommate just like we did when this game was new.
i remember playing this on nba live 06
I remember me and my homie would play this all day. Alot of good memories
Used to play this all the time until someone stole it. Damn memories I remember I was the first on my block to had this game my avg 75pts per game with del curry from the hornets vs my friends
Calbert Cheaney and Rex Chapman were a BEASTS on this!!!
Outdated graphics of course but this was the first basketball video game that was actually worth playing and would still be.
I liked how you could type in a current rookie in the "create a player" & it'd give you the actual players bio...height, weight, college, etc. Thought that was super cool of EA back then

Yep I added all the legends. From Cousy to chamberlain. It was awesome
This was my GAME. Golden State was my team.
Mark price was the best shooter....scored over 300pts all in 3s with a game total of 700 something...I remember it well...me and my brother could run back n forth nailin 3s as fast as you could run to the line...just got the release down I guess...

Loved this one!
It's a shame Nba Elite 2012 won't be looking this good...
Best basketball game ever until the 2K series got it right
This game is really fun.... love the old rosters
I love how you can attempt full court shots, and it will always at least hit rim.
I loved this game.

Wow everyone looks the same with slight hair differences lol
The spread eagle layup...my patented move.
They will make a come back watch
best nba video game of all time.
Being the Nets, you should be draining 3's with Kenny Anderson. He and Nick Van Excel on the Lakers are the best 3 point shooters on the game.
damn, I played an entire season as Nets, I can still remember 20 years later how I set it alight with Kenny Anderson!! Not sure if I shot many threes though!!
Shaq could hit 3s as well as anybody
mitch richmond was unstoppable. i scored over100 with him many times
Dan Majerle was in PHX then right? I remember he kicked ass in the game! This vid brings back memories on sleepless nights...
Got my first job making like $400 a week at 14 years old, I bought this game the first check I got... I was a Warrior fan, Hardaway and Sprewell and Mullins was raw

Technically, 2K Sports existed as Sega Sports when this game was out.
0:56 Seattle

@IntisK Charles Oakley and Pat Riley. Nuff said.
thanks for this. but uh i jammed the game way better than that. 360 dunk with david robinson? oh yeah! Use to play it like crazy when i was 7. ahh the good days.
Do you know how to unlock those other teams like the "blockers" and "stealers?" So sad i tried but never got to it.
NBA Live 13 :)
@iwatchyouatnight1 I detect sarcasm, but, rest assured, these graphics were mind-blowing in their time.
It used to be in the game, but now it's DLC!
Oh really On what system?
you can only trade the starting 5
and then comes 2k...
@hippa2dahoppa2 Did I say i made the game?? No, when I said "we", I meant the people who played the game and how much the graphics has changed through the years.
The pacers were my team in this. Reggie for 3!!!!!!!!
EA SPORTS to the gaaame. miss this intro haha
John Starks

@lild4545 kind of a stupid comment if you think about it.
