This is the first video where I have been able to put RUclips funding towards a major part so thank you to all who have watched my video's over the years. Your views, comments, likes and subscriptions really do a long way to a small self funded hobby channel like this one.
In this video I changed my standard suspension with lowered springs to coilovers. I will show you the process I used and the tools I used for the job.
All in all it isn't difficult, just time consuming and easier with a 2nd person. If the 2nd person has any knowledge about working on cars and you have enough tools, you could halve the time it takes.
As always safety first. Jack, Jack Stands, Safety Glasses are handy too, especially working in the top bolts for the rear shocks.
Thanks for watching. Don't forget to leave a comment, give us a like and subscribe to the channel with more videos to come.

Great video mate! Love the pointing finger 😂😂😂😂
I got it from Barrel Bros. Lol.
I've had them for 2 and a half years now, great coilovers.
Good to hear. Bilstein are a quality brand so longevity and a balance of comfort vs performance is expected from them.... for a coilover of course.
Can’t wait to see the review on these, almost pulled the trigger on some sooooo many times for my FST, i suspect the’ll be wayyyyyyy better than stock suspension so looking forward to seeing and hearing about it soon ❤🙌🙌
Great vid fella and great job.
Cheers. Soooooo much better than standard and the same with the lowered springs. I might film a short initial review with how they are as a daily soon because the improvement is massive. Absolutely loving them.
Enjoy them now the works done ✅ looking forward to hearing the feedback from you on these my mate ✨👌🤜🏽💯🤛🏽
Do you have to put the plastic anti squeak back in
Look how clean the underbody of that car is wow 👌 here in uk 3 year old cars do not look that clean underneath! 0 corrosion on yours 👍
2016 model, never been cleaned underneath.
@@fordyford never driven in wet or snow? Used daily?
It's my daily. Driven through torrential flood rains the last few years in a row. We don't get snow where I am and no salting the roads.
@@fordyford yes definatly the 0 salt helps! Even weeks after snow in uk still see piles of grit/salt on uk roads 🤣
Did you have to use the original top mounts with these?
Good question. The rears you definitely need to reuse your original top mounts but I think looking at the kit online the front come with top hats.
As I bought them 2nd hand the seller kindly passed them on to me ready to go with all parts needed for me to install.
So how are they
Great. The feel good. The rear springs feel more firm but comfort wise they are amazing compared to stock and stock with lowered springs. Yet to track them.
I have a US fiesta SE 1.6 ti-vct 5 door hatch with the 22mm front sway bar and am going with the bilstein b14's and want the dna rear adjustable torsion bar.
will i also need the rear sway bar? I am hoping the adj torsion bar will be enough to sort out the rear.
I honestly don't know. I do know that having already installed the whiteline rear sway bar and then the mishimoto rear trunk brace, there was no notable different adding the trunk brace.
@@fordyford iirc there's a difference between rear sway and torsion, but the claimed outcome is identical... less body roll and more stiffness.
@@fordyford also it seems this kit is missing necessary bits that if you didn't want to re-use or didn't have, would need purchasing. I think I saw a list somewhere but I can't find the thread anywhere. so far i think it's rear top mounts and the bolts you were talking about, but there's a bit more as well.
I think everyone should know going into this that these things aren't included, but you don't see these warnings on the listings that I know of.
@ravenzbot agreed people should always do proper research before buying. I spoke to the person selling as these were second hand and we discussed what was needed before I bought them.
So how are they mate? I’m debating BC coilovers or these. I’m on Eibach redlines and although more comfortable than standard I still find the car really bad on the crap roads we have on the UK, deffo doesn’t inspire confidence in the twisties.
Are these more comfortable but also better handling than standard shocks?
I haven't had them on track but for a daily they are awesome. A lot more comfortable than standard. The rears seem a bit stiffer than stock but I am finding it much more comfortable to drive daily.
@@fordyford yeah sorry should have specified road use primarily! Do they handle better? Sharper turn in and better feeling when the car is loaded up? How are they with dealing with imperfections in the road?
@RiperSnifle yeah they are good. I have a rear sway bar and sometimes i get a little lift off oversteer if i get caught out at a roundabout thats a sharper turn than expected for example but could be tyre pressures or anything. Basically common when u stiffen up the rears
@@fordyford thanks for the replies man. Appreciated 👌
@RiperSnifle no worries. I am more than happy with how these are compared to stock. Even stock with Mountune springs, these are much, much better
Any reviews on these yet my mate 👀👀🙏🏼
Love 'em. The ride is far better than OEM. Less busy and bumpy but all the road feel. Performance is better too. I feel like the rear spring rate is notably firmer than OEM and the Mountune Springs.
Wish I did it sooner.
Ah mate only now seeing this, thanks for your reply mate I’m seriously considering pulling the trigger on these. Your feedback is really appreciated my mate thanks buddy 🙏🏼
Hi mate, it'a a b14? how much more uncomfortable than the standard one
I rate these more comfortable than stock. The rear you can tell is a little stiffer spring rate but the dampers are much better than standard. Perfect performance upgrade for a daily drive in my opinion.
@@fordyford thanks a lot, yesterday i order same coilovers than yours on my daily mk7!
In my opinion I prefer these a lot more than the standard suspension.
