I feel really sorry for the haunted house operator. Ok he shouldn’t of done it but he could lose his job from this. And we all know it isn’t the best time to lose your job right now. Also he could of been told by his manger that that’s what he has to do. I hope you complained discretely and didn’t embarrass him. He looked so young 🥺
We decided that the best option would be to email the park privately with feedback on our visit

The Gravitron! I remember that one from my old local park (Pleasure Island, Cleethorpes), so seeing it updated and still going strong here is really nice, almost like meeting an old friend.
It was nice to see it again!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide Yup! Me, I always like to be on the lookout for attractions from there. Sure, Pleasure Island might not have been the biggest or most thrilling park, but it's still one that's very special to me!

I loved going to Barry island as a child I can remember the fun house with funny mirrors and a rocky bridge and a huge slide it was awesome
There was a coaster just like cyclone that pre dates the log flume at ocean beach in South shields. Twas a classic.

i havent been to b island for a long time tbh.. used to have a decent log flume... a boat ride..with animals and is the ghost train still there? never really went to barry for the fair.. was usually just for the arcades, the logos a bit like barry mate rough and ready lol
It’s all travelling rides now however it’s still a good place to visit for a few hours

I used to go to Barry Island almost every year when i was a kid 40 years ago, we stayed at the Butlins which is now long gone. I remember going on the cable cars from the park down to the beach, also remember the fun fair being a total dump lol It looks soo much better now x

They used to have a clone of the Great Yarmouth wooden coaster at Barry Island , the park was owned by the brother of the Great Yarmouth park.
The park does indeed have so much history to it!
Barry Island was like Porthcawl when I was a kid and was a great place to visit. The old Log Flume using the remains of the scenic railway was brilliant, as was the old rollercoaster they had there. The Tram Boot was a great pirate ship which went fully upside down and they had a large dogems layout there. Then of course there was the old Wacky Goldmine and Frankenstein Scream Machine which John Wardley (who lived in Barry at the time) did work on for the park, both of which were great in their height of their lifespan.
The place used to be so busy back in its hey day that it would remain open until 11pm and had a great atmosphere. When Butlins across the road closed that was the end of the park. The guy who owned Hypervalue took it over and injected quite a bit of money into it, but it never recovered, he died, and the park closed for a while. They were going to build apartments on the land but I think Danters(??) said they could transform it and were given licence to operate there.
Personally - I dont like the whole travelling funfair feel to the place. Barry in the past felt more like a theme park with fixed rides, whereas now, its a mix of rides you can see in any travelling fair. Many of the rides are very old and expensive to go on. As for the ghost train experience I think the inside of the ride for £3 each was shocking enough, let alone someone touching you, which, regardless of a pandemic is unacceptable anyway.
As for people saying you should be saying positive things about the park, well, the camera doesnt lie. You can see the rubbish all over the park, maybe if some of that was cleared away it would help. I think your review was fair and honest. Maybe the park could invest a bit more in training the ride ops and cleaning up around the rides to make it feel less like a travelling fun fair then it may help the place.
I believe from stuff I have read in the past that the guy running the place does want to make it a success and has every good intention to do so, for me, personally, I think transforming the park from a travelling fun fair into a resort would be the answer to this.

Edit: (when I was a teen) I've been on something similar to the gravitron at our local fun fairs. This one was an open air circular cage that also went in the air.. a bit like the 'frisbee' but no seats just gravity. We used to go on it upside down (not safe lol)

Showing my age now, The Beastie was first positioned in Forbidden Valley where the Nemesis Sub Terra/Project 42 building is at the moment before it was moved over to where the Octonaughts coaster now sits. I believe it debuted the same year as Nemesis but don't quote me! Great video you too, nice to see the Beastie still going, even though the lapbars could do with being sorted out LOL.

I mentioned on another channel, why do ghost trains so frequently fail to deliver.
I loved the blackpool ghost train and when they moved everything around and added new things i feel like its lost its spookiness

I think we have one or two, one of them has been retro fitted with frontwards facing seats now though

Around 20 Rock-o-Planes usually traveling in UK (less at moment obviously due to covid) majority Eyerly machines but a few others too. About a third have front facing cars. Quite a few rusting away in yards as well.

I remember being down here in 1995 , I stayed at the former Bultlins holiday camp next door, this funfair belongs to Harry Danter , the original pleasure park went bust.

Fantastic job! Doing daily vlogs with new content all the time is the ultimate test for any RUclipsr and to do the month - well hats off to you both. Blackpool Illuminations: As far as we have been able to tell the Heritage trams will probably only run 2 tours a night. You'll need to pre-book and they will allocate you your seats. Obviously you'll need to wear a mask. The illuminated trams will not make an appearance until perhaps November as there has been no one to work on them during the summer. So they plan to run the balloon cars as they offer the most social distancing opportunities. Switch on night appears to be a live stream. The Illuminations dept. have done a great job and there are quite a lot of new things including a Spitfire at Gynn Square! Hope that helps.

Have you ever ridden The Zipper (called Kick Flip in Planet Coaster). I know there aren't many, in any, in UK or Europe, but they are at all fairs & such in USA. The Zipper is a pretty intense ride.

@@danielledewitt1 Well I really hope your keyworker is washing her hands regularly and wearing protection ie gloves , masks because you can catch it through touch that's why we are all wearing masks and sanitising our hands . It's passed from close contact with people through nose and mouth droplets hence social distancing. Get you facts right first .

Another Awesome Vlog From the Theme park Worldwide channel I actually went to Barry Island this year and I am quite shocked about what happened on the Ghost train but when I went the operator didn't do that
If you can wait, then you should visit Denmark in 2022, because Djurssommerland is getting a Mack rides coaster. But i dont know which type.

In the US the have a Halloween event where you drive in your car very slowly and scareactors scare you from a distance. It looked really well thought through and save and surprisingly enough still scary (in a good way). Something like that might be doable and save for Halloween. :)

I live in colombia, we used to have what I believe was the new beast (alton beast) at alton towers for a few years in my local amusement park, unfortunately it has since been removed but I did enjoyed going on that

It’s weird to think that Barry Island used to have a clone of Great Yarmouth’s Rollercoaster. The park would look so different, now, if they hadn’t removed it.

Where was the Butlins holiday camp in relation to this Theme Park ?
I’m not sure how close it was
It was across the road at the very top of the resort (opposite end to all the arcades). Immediately across the road was the main building with the swimming pools and the accommodation blocks went out all along the coast to the point. AT one point there was a cable car which took guests from the accommodation along the sea front and to the park. When the resort closed it was a huge blow to the fun park. I remember watching them pulling down the buildings.
Yep directly across the Rd. I was a bluecoat there in its final 2 seasons. Still upsets me to see it all gone :(

It used to be so much better with original log flume and perm rides. Your review is exactly right, a funfair in a car park sadly! Wish they wouldn’t cram the rides in so close to one another now, just to fit in a car park on-site (lots of other parking available on the island).

Another Towers link. John Wardley created a ride at Barry called Uncle Frankenstein’s Scream Machine. Nice to see Beastie and Graviton, which I have ridden at Towers. The place has changed a lot since I last went when they still had the Flume with theming

Thanks for another vlog, watched Coaster Crazy's recent vlog that he posted recently, searched this and thought I had to watch it. Good vlog, never visited this park yet, but its on my list as a park would like to see, its a long way from where currently am. So one day hopefully as part of a holiday or trip, but not yet. Nice park, heard recently that the owner would like to build a multi storey car park, accommodation for guests to stay over for nights in at least I think this is what he would like to do? But needs planning permission to do so, but be good if he did get it because then loads of extra space for additional rides, attractions and coasters both visiting & maybe permanent? Would love to see a permanent log flume here with massive amounts of theming & medium & large drops. Think one would be epic & bring a lot of popularity especially in the summer as think one they have now, is good for funfair vibe, but think they would benefit from a permanent immersive themed version with original storyline, boats and bigger hills? Might give more use to train station aswell as that looks rundown, think that could do with a redevelopment. But until something like mentioned has happened, hope to for now see owner gets permission granted if true for parking & accommodation. Again cheers for video, look forward to future & next videos & vlogs. 😀👍

You don’t know if he hand sanitises in between every person he touches on shoulder. Same principle as if you touch the ride bars. They should be cleaned too.
