His best years were the Capitol years of three 50s. So much range and versatility. My first album was "Songs For Swingin' Lovers." I still love it. Love all the mood albums. I cried along with, "Don't Cry, Joe" and "One For My Baby" because I knew he lived those songs. Pure genius!
Sinatra became the person in the song; a great actor interpreting the lyrics to bring the song alive. No one did it better. His “saloon songs” was the real Frank. Songs like Angel Eyes, One for my Baby and the little known Forget to Remember is Sinatra at his very best...
As of the mid-1950s Sinatra became as good an actor as he was a singer. Not only for '...Eternity' but for several others, with his performance in 'Some Came Running' under Vincente Minelli being a personal favorite. Some vehicles, charitably speaking, were not well-scripted but, as he was the first to admit in a couple of his TV specials, on occasion Sinatra would also not only be severely miscast ('Not as a Stranger', 'The Pride and The Pasion') but also uninvolved ("I need a gun" - 'Johnny Concho'). And yet, his best in drama or comedy ('Young at Heart', 'Suddenly', 'The Tender Trap', 'High Society', 'Pal Joey', 'The Manchurian Candidate', 'Tony Rome', 'The First Deadly Sin'), would be as good as anybody would have a right to expect.
this is actually a very fact based and true clip...Sinatra did give up on acting after he lost the academy award for best actor which he really wanted...trivia...Sinatra wanted to play brandos part in on the waterfront and after only minimal discussion...it was never offered to him
Well-edited perfectly chosen cuts. Got so much into just 15 minutes. Wish there was a longer version with the same editor. Only one thing wrong. The final still photo is flopped. How stupid is that?!!
Huh never knew frank hated playing the innocent guy in the earlier movies, I thought he worked it well! I wonder why he didn’t like it, I feel like the innocent look worked for him as well as the seductive look haha
MGM dropped him because Louis Mayer was trying to make a newcomer Ginny Simms. Mayer hurt or broke his leg and overheard Frank saying that he, Mayer, broke his leg falling off Ginny Simms. Mayer did not have a sense of humor.

Love Mr.Sinatra so much & I study his very Smooth Singer! Plus what a true actor too!
Frank's voice took the chocolate box sound out of lyrics and made them earthly real.

Jade Zee:. Actually he had signed a contract and sued the studio after they pulled the rug out and signed Brando. Frank received a settlement.
