Lovely video. I know the loch quite well after fishing it for about 50 years. My favourite place in Scotland. It was really good to see the shorelines and camping spots. Loch Awe hotel looks better from the loch. Looking forward to seeing your videos. Thank you so much. David

Hey Divum. Been following the channel for awhile now. I really have enjoyed the interesting mix of content you have, as a fellow bike rider and avid kayaker. This has been your best video series to date. The stunning scenery, camera and drone vision, music and commentary really tied it all together. It looked like a fantastic trip. I'm glad you also mentioned Leave No Trace principles. Gotta love Scotland. ATB from 🇦🇺Lee.

Scotland looks so beautiful! The colours in autumn, the mist on the water, it's stunning. This was a beautiful video, you made. And you were very lucky with the weather indeed. I would love to explore Scotland in the future, but there's a chance that I don't want to leave it! Thanks for taking us on your trip, hope to see more of these adventures!

Watched all three videos. Great effort, and what an adventure.
It gives me some insight as to what to expect, and I'm really excited.
Where abouts did you end up parking ? For me that's a concern. I don't mind a couple mile hike to launch the kayaks, but my main concern is that the car is legally parked and still there when we return

We parked at Torran Bay, furthest southern point. We enquired at the hostel (which I believe is not running/open) and there was an elderly woman there who owned the land and boat yard. We explained our plan and she allowed us to camp the first night next the Jetty and park the car with trailer for 4 nights for a small payment. Parking and security are always a consideration.

Thank you for three great videos on Loch Awe. I plan to packraft Loch Awe in 2024. Is please there safe car parking at the start point and what time of the year did you make trip because it looked fairly midge free.

    • @divum

Thanks Tim. First, I appreciate your views and comment.
We parked the car at Torran Bay where the land owner (an elderly woman) fleeced me of £56! She demanded £10 per night parking AND £3 per canoe launching!!!. This is a fact.
I chose to pay because after 12 hours driving and it being night, the whole plan could have been compromised if we had elected to move on. Be aware that access to the loch from the roads is very limited.
It was September and unfortunately there were many midges on the first evening however not too bad on the islands. Perhaps the fire smoke, wind and repellent all worked to keep them away.
      ATB for your trip👍🏻🛶

In (very) slight mitigation of the parking costs as Andrew mentions, it was secure and away from public access, and excellent access/egress to the loch for the start and finish. The property (Torran Bay Hostel) is up for sale, so the situation may change by the date of your trip.
I'm just grateful Andrew could do a bank transfer that night!!! 🙂
Going in the spring may help minimise any midge problem, but take a head net in case!

I couldn't believe the weather for days 3 and 4 no wonder you finished ahead of time. I think with a generous use of Photoshop you could make the Loch Awe Monster believable😂😂
