The beginning makes you realize how amazing Maddie and Nia would have been in a duo! Both powerful dancers especially when Nia is given a chance! Love this dance! Always loved when Nia had the lead in dances!
I totally agree! I will admit Nia’s technic is not the same as Maddie’s, however, they both would have sold the story. To me it is not always about the technic but the emotion and story behind it!
This is probably one of the most powerful dances from the show. While most would say Suicide Hotline or Is There Still Hope, I think the message in this is portrayed so well. Abby knew what she was doing when she choreographed this.
Thank god Jill wasn’t going on about how Kendall should be the lead.
Meg I doubt Jill had any bad intents when she asked for Kendall to have a part that was clearly meant for Nia. I think she was just trying to give Kendall the opportunity to do a special part like that. I still think what she did was stupid, but I don’t think she meant anything bad.

Nia is a performer, she is powerfully and tells/sells the story. Abby prioritised technique which is important yes but isn’t always the best and end all of performance or what books jobs
Why did the camera men only pay attention to Maddie? The cameras should have been on nia!!!!!!!! Like wtf?

I cried watching this. Nia is always so incredibly amazing everytime they give her an opportunity to shine. She's not only a good dancer, but a fantastic actress, storyteller, performer. I wish I could see her more because it always touches me.

This dance is so underrated, I think it was one of the best dances of the entire show. I cried when it was over, Nia told the story so well.

Nia absolutely killed this dance. Everyone in general was amazing. The choreography, dancing and music all went together so well. I get chills still whenever I watch this one.

This is my all time favorite dance mom’s dance. It gives me chills and makes me tear up, idk why. The part where Nia walks holding her tattered skirt with her head held high like the other girls who are wearing pretty flown dresses and her parts with Maddie are my favorite bits of this dance. I think Nia and Maddie really sold the dance for me and told the story through their faces and movements.

My favorite dance ever, besides 7 dancers (don’t come for me). So graceful, they were all so beautiful but Nia steals my eye every time I watch. Just gorgeous. Abby truly had a dream team with those girls, they danced together so long it just seems natural

The actual music they danced to was called stars and glitter by the same artist, there used to be a video on youtube of the dance recorded by an audience member but its gone. it makes much more sense with the original song as it is actually about slavery, but this is still powerful

I wish I could have seen this from the audience. They kept panning the camera to Abby and the moms which is nice. But I actually wanted to see this entire dance.
