Incredible audible feedback on it. The price point seems very reasonable for this nicely manufactured and good looking Razor.
This one was a bit harsh for me when i first started but now love it, the build quality is excellent too, if you put a couple drops of silicone oil down the centre pin it becomes really smooth and feels expensive.

I'm new to DE shaving. I got this Wilkinson razor on Amazon, and I'm using the Wilkinson blades. I've had no trouble at all, not bad for a beginner. Very easy to use. I like the length, the weight, and the butterfly opening which makes it so easy to change blades. I've tried a 3-piece razor and I much prefer this. The price is right, and it seems to be a quality razor.

If you a in Ontario Canada, you can get these at most loblaws chains and shoppers drug mart. It is like 20.99 at shoppers.
I bought one at Shoppers Drug Mart about six weeks ago. The shave with the supplied Wilkinson Sword blades was meh; better with the Astra SP I have in it now. Still the roughest shaving of the three razors I have, but managed a BBS with the Astra. Going to try a sharper blade next. Not bad for the price, and I'll leave it in the rotation to see if other blades work better, but it won't ever be my "go to" razor.

Timor also makes safty razors. In germany we just say "Hobel" which translates directly in planer.

There's a Laurel and Hardy museum here in Georgia, 20 minutes from my house. Went there recently and they were playing the piano episode over and over. 😂 Hardy lived here for many years. Was interested to learned that over 100 movies, they both died broke (gambling problems). Sad. They also have an annual convention here and people come from all over the world. Oh, great vid, Kevy. 😊
That's awesome David. There's a new movie coming out soon about them touring in the UK towards the later stages of their career. I've been to the Laurel & Hardy museum in Ulverston in England here in the U.K. That's where Stan Laurel was born. They made some really funny movies, some of which still stand the test of time. I got into wet shaving a couple of years ago I have bought vintage and new de razors. I must have around 40. I enjoy some more than others, but I would like to say honestly my go to razor is a Chinese ming shi TTO. I just love it.

Great video Kevy, the Wilko Sword razor was my very first DE razor, when I started my journey down the rabbit hole in the summer of 2020! I'm a bit late to the party, but I found this Speick soap & matching aftershave splash in my local supermarket here in Switzerland. I'm pleased to see it works well, I'm going to use it for my sold tomorrow :)

Beautiful thick lather, protective and slick before & after a pass, I really loved it. In fact I think it performed better than some artisanal soaps I have. I bought this handle with a sleeve of 5 blades for £12 at my local Tesco (reduced from £18) and I really like using it. I plan to try some different blades and see which brand I like the best.

I received my Wilkinson sword DE razor yesterday £12.99 with 5 Wilkinson blades. I will tell you how I get on. I'm still trialing my Rockwell C6, plate 3 seems best for me and I'm using the Astra blades in it at present. Not as close as Feather obviously but they do leave me with skin left on my face which is a bonus!! Also bought some Arko moisturiser to use after shaving. I find the Alum block I bought good too!! Doing OK with Proraso white, Taylors Eton college, Kent soap and still working with the woolfat. Got a free sample of Proraso green so will try that soon.

Just tried the Wilkinson sword classic de Razor with the Wilkinson blades provided. Not a bad shave but got nicked a few times. Used BK8 Kent brush and worked the Woolfat soap for ages in its China holder and then in a bowl. Again it just dissipated on my face and ended up putting it on neat. Still really bad. I get on alright with Kent soap and it's supposidly the same. Couldn't use the bottled water I bought as my partner has just come back from Jamaica after being stuck there for 4 months and drank it!!🙁🙁🤣🤣. (She is Jamaican and was with her mother etc; so not too bad for her). I will try the razor again with the same blade and maybe Arko soap. I also used my new Arko pomegranate & red grape face cream to revitalise. It is fantastic stuff and isn't greasy. Take care mate and stay safe.

OK...I'm editing as it's about 20 mins after I tried the new Wilkinson razor with blades provided. I got a pretty good shave considering I did 3 passes but didn't do a final clean-up as the woolfat soap was so thin with no cushioning. With my Acne scarred skin from teenage years I prefer a good thick coating of soap, like Arko. Again, that Arko face cream has made my skin feel great and really revitalised! Great stuff. I will let you know how I get on with the razor next time with a different soap. Love Laurel & Hardy too and yes it is the Music box. Look out for "busy bodies" it's hilarious!!.......Stay safe!!

Just had my 2nd shave with this Wilkinson classic and a new Derby blade. Again the razor cut me really easily and I was being very careful! Face now very red and sore. Used Arko soap. Next shave will be with my Rockwell with plate 3 and a once used Derby superior. I think it is the razor that is causing the problem. I used it first with a Wilkinson blade and the result was the same. I am looking forward to the Outlaw razor to arrive. Stay safe buddy!

Stick with the Rockwell and the Outlaw Dave. There's plenty choice out there. No point in using a razor that you don't get along with. Maybe come back to it after a couple of months and see if it has gotten any better for you. Kevy 👍

I can only describe my experience with this Wilkinson classic as like trying to shave using a live Pirana fish. Every time it got near my face I got cut!! Forgot to tell you Kevy that I also ordered (on Sunday) the Parker adjustable razor (forgotten name)! It was one of your favourites a while ago. With my Feather AS-D2 I also ordered my first synthetic brush, a Simpsons Trafalgar T3.

Looking at 2:32 you will see a difference, the preasure plate on the Wilkinson is higher than on the Gellette, this will give the blade a more curve with a sharper angle. I enjoy my Wilkinson Razor, with the Persona and DERBY Razor Blades I get a mild clean shave. Thank´s for the video.

I bought this razor at Amazon (Germany) for 6,49 € with 5 Wilkinson Sword blades (plus postage - did not pay any due to other items bought as well). Great razor, very smooth shave. Up to now I tried Derby, King C Gillette and Wilkinson blades. In my opinion the Wilkinson’s are the least smooth ones, the King C Gillette are OK but very pricey (10 blades are 5.99 €), the Derby are smooth, cut well and are affordable. The razor is a good de razor, quite cheap, like it better than the King C Gillette de safety razor. At the moment I am trying to find out which blades work best for me. Hi Kevy. A nice new WS razor. Hope it will be back on the market soon, after they have sorted out these minor legal and advertising problems.
Both SPEICK shaving creams (the regular blue/red and the grey Active) are vegetal and entirely organic. I have had them in my rotation for many, many years and I really like them a lot. The "Active" is my favourite though. Luckily all SPEICK products (AS splash, balm, cream, soap, stick, deo) are available in "Coop" drugstores in my country (Switzerland). One bright spot, otherwise the shaving sections of drugstores and departement stores have badly shrunk in recent decades.
It's available just now on Amazon UK. Speick has a UK website. I would've thought it would be available in some supermarkets over here but sadly not. Shame as it's really good stuff. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

Funny. The soap smelled LEMON only for me. Never thought about lavender. When you said it i was like "WHAT????" and than i smelled again... and yeah, there is something lavender in it... the scent is there! Interesting :-)

Great shave. I would love to see the Wilkinson Sword TTO razor being sold in US retail stores to supplement the ever growing wet shaving community with good DE razors. If Gillette ever releases a DE razor in American stores like Target or Walmart, I'd be happy to invest in it

@@kevyshaves4109 I loved the grip and the length of the handle (definitely longer than my DE89).
One edge of the razor was very smooth and mild in aggression. However, the other edge was very aggressive and I could really feel the blade... 🤔 The same with a new blade unfortunately.

I got this Wilkinson razor too and mine has an uneven blade exposure. The blade is parallel to the comb but one side, the reveal is clearly more than the other. Only when i push sideways while closing the razor, the blade is evenly exposed.
Works very well then. I didnt like the blades from Wilkinson that were sold with it though. Best blades i use are the Supermax Super Stainless, very cheap, but very good blades for me. The green Derby extras are good for like 3 shaves but then they seem to get warped edges and then they become bad!
Also for me shaves are best when i use shave gel, the shave soaps applied with a brush seem to glide less. Maybe i am doing something wrong with those soaps.
Also i clearly prefer my King C Gillette razor because it seems more precise, gives better feedback while shaving and i get about 8 good shaves with the Supermax Super Stainless blades. Wow!

I love this razor. I find it more aggressive than my Edwin Jagger Kelvin. I can get a good shave in one pass whereas the Kelvin requires two at least.

Hey Kevy, I tried to convert my brother and gave him a black Classic Wilkinson Sword since he uses cartridges. When I asked how he liked it he was upset and said he really cut up his face. I said, WTF? that's impossible with that mild plastic razor. Well, after I interrogated him he admitted he thought it was too mild and opened up the handle like it was an adjustable and the top was loose and then cut himself. Silly but true. I haven't convinced him to try it again unfortunately. However, I easily converted my sister and she loves her "butterfly" Gillette vintage razor. Cheers, Mark

Eine effiziente rasur mit freundlicher genehmigung von Deutschland! (An efficient shave courtesy of Germany!). It is exciting news that Wilkinson Sword has introduced their TTO model in metal! The plastic DE is very inexpensive, and a travel razor you can afford to leave in a hotel room. However, a metal safety razor was long overdue. ShaveMac is the epitome of brush makers. German made, still family owned, and independent of corporate spoilage. I enjoy my Seillean No.19 at least once a week. I agree with your assessment of head comparison with the Gillette Slim. But I would be remiss if I didn't admit that the Timor greatly aided the new razor. Timor blades are ice tempered rather than coated. They're scalpel sharp, yet highly efficient in experienced hands. I find them more comfortable than Feather. I haven't tried Speick Active. I have used, and enjoyed their Classic offering. I've smelled Tuff, but have never used it. You probably haven't realized this, but over your left shoulder, I can see Nivea Active Clean shower gel. Nivea is also made in Germany! I love that stuff! It has activated charcoal, and gets your skin very, very, clean. Well Done!

Good evening Kevy! Nice to see this mysterious new release Wilkinson Sword TTO razor. I read about it...yet it has never been seen before now. lol. I have a true classic in my den...a 1968 Wilkinson Sword Safety Razor, a.k.a. the Sticky. You don't see those everyday either. Anyway, nice that Jens sent it to you. I like the Speick shaving soap myself...I have the stick version...nice scent, awesome lather. The WS razor worked very well, great shave. When I was in Boston, I happened onto the Gillette HQ. Not sure what is happening inside. To my eye, they are not tooled to product the classic razors nor DE blades. It is my opinion that they will never produce any of their famous DE razors again. That is a shame, but there is no money to be made in it...money is the driving force behind all they do. Hoping the next video is the comparison shave. Take care.

Yes, just when I provide my unbiased professional assessment of the business situation...well, maybe Amazon see an opportunity for higher profits (Now I am thinking about it, the razors disappeared suddenly overnight...Amazon could have bought then all). In reference to Gillette, we all would clamor to buy...and if Gillette wanted some truly big dollars they would auction the "right" to buy one at their suggested retail price..sort like the Ford GT. BTW, the 1974 Personna 74 Plus is on shave 20...will it cut? How many more shaves will it go?
I just acquired a nice, clean, 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable. Shaved with it for the first time today. Its my first vintage razor and I'm really impressed. I agree Kevy, Gillette should re-release the Fat Boy or Slim, but it would have to be the real deal....all brass and nickle plated. Also...it should have a retro price of $1.95. 😉😃Seriously though, do you happen to know what metal the new Wilkinson Sword TTO is made of?

I picked up one of these at Shopper's Drug Mart in Toronto on sale for $15 Canadian dollars. I already have several premium razors (Edwin Jagger, Merkur, my old Gillette "Black Beauty" , and my father's Gillette Superspeed from 1955) but I was curious about how a cheap razor would compare. Took it home and tried a Wilkinson shave with the new razor, a Wilkinson Sword Blade and the Wilkinson Shaving soap in a blue tub. I was amazed !!! It was one of the most comfortable and yet close shaves I have ever had ! The soap was perhaps more "chemically" than I am used to but it gave one of the slickest lathers I have ever encountered, much slicker than that of my D.R. Harris, Tabac, Cade, Proraso and other premium soaps. Of course, it did not have a luxurious scent (just clean) but functionally it was great ! Made me wonder whether I was perhaps overspending needlessly on my shaving gear :-) Of course I like my "luxury" products as well, but the Wlikinson Shave has earned a place in my rotation.
That's the beauty of wet shaving. There's so much choice out there for everyone. What's good for one might not work for another shaver. Variety is the spice of life. Cheers. Kevy 👍

I finally got to shave with it. Head profile is like a slim adjustable, shave is smooth more like setting 4 or 5. This is pretty much a Gillette head. Very good and impressive razor. I love it.
Speick is made on my home turf. It's quality.
I have the Active cream in a tube, and it's a great product! I get more of an herbal scent from it than lavender. That looks like a soild razor, hopefully they make them available in North America. Nice shave! 👍💈

Maybe Gilette wont react, but Parker has few TTO options (India) at abt twice the price. Imo one needs a TTO only, easy to load, cheap. By the way, 'herb' in german means 'earthy, herbal, even tangy'. Woman sometimes can be herbal, too, if they're too difficult to entangle... Cheers, Achim+

I like your reviews. Thanks. But I would like to point out that I bought an identical razor from Aldi in Australia labeled as Schick with 10 Schick blades for about AUD16 (USD10). The razor is made in China, blades in Germany. Truth be told, I found it a bit aggressive but do not know if it was the blades or the razor. Maybe I should try Wilkinson blades?
Somehow I suspect this razor has little to do with Wilkinson, except for the logo stamped on the head. This is probably a generic product sold under various brand names.

Picked up this DE last week in Tesco (North Ireland) and very impressed with it. Tried it last night for my first DE head shave and performed really well only one tiny weeper. Dunno if that’s down the blade or myself haha but either way, very impressed with its performance

Yes Amazon have them. Tesco and Sainsbury's have them for that price too. Not every shop stocks them. Kevy 😀
The razor is £12 in Sainsbury’s. The web site is a pain though so your better going there.
You can buy this razor from Tesco online, I got mine delivered with the shopping, only costs £15.99 and 1000 times better than the old plastic wilkinsons classic.

Although Gillette went all in with cartridge shavers and will never make a new DE, there is hope that Edgewell could bring them back to our local drugstores.

About a new Gillette razor?
Procter &Gamble, who own Gillette have recently (within the last 3-5 years or so) bought back a number of their own old razor blade manufacturing plants in eastern Europe, (most notably the Polsilver and St. Petersburg plants) which they had previously sold off quite a few years ago believing plastic razors were the future, however with plastic pollution increasingly becoming a concern, and a growing trend towards traditional shaving, (big multinationals like Proctor and Gamble-Gillette, Wilkinson Sword and the like, keep a sharp eye on possible trends in marketing and try to be the first in design and production, in order to "own" the market.) We could well see a new Fatboy on the design table, and others from Gillette and Wilkinson Sword on sale pretty soon.
Back to the future. Good news then.
Now the downside-stock up on blades before Gillette rams up the price.
Imagine going to Tesco or ASDA and picking up a new release fatboy on the shelf next to Mach 3 razors. That would be great. 👌
That's an interesting thought regarding the plastic issue. It's become quite a big thing here in the U.K. And more and more bigger companies are looking for alternatives for plastic. Hmmm...maybe one day we will get a new de from Gillette. Cheers. Kevy 👍

DE razors and blades are all biodegradable, so in time the conservationists, green parties and governments will be pushing for a changeover to traditional methods. The big boys will be aware of this and are preparing for the transition in their own quiet way.
Of course you and I were two young futuristic trendsetters all the time, and we can always say we told them so.

Is it the classic wilkinson sword razor kevy I Hope to receive mine soon I have two edwin jagger razors selling one now on ebay ,the one I have found I like is a blue handle with a Gillette tech razor ,With a astra blue blade it works on most blades as well for me.
