The Dolphins offense has sucked for a long time, even dating back to late last year with Tua. These are their point totals in last 7 games: 22, 19, 14, 7, 20, 10, 3. That’s 13.5 PPG.
The offense is a “cheat motion” misdirection gimmick that was highly successful at first against bad teams, but now the league has caught up & figured out the gimmick.

Since 2021 Dolphin backups have won only one single game- Skylar against the Jets in 2022. Teddy Bridgewater has lost every game he played in for the Dolphins. Skylar has sucked almost as much. Grier and McDaniel should have known they need a better backup QB, just like they should have known to get better players on the Offensive Line. I can't believe they replaced Robert Hunt with Liam Eichenberg? How does Liam still have a job? That's right, because although he sucks, he's still better than Lester Cotton. They both suck and Grier is too hardheaded to admit that he needs to dump them and get better players. Especially if we're going to use the run more ofter

But Tua led the league in passing yards, but Tua played every game last season, but Tua led the league in passer rating, but Tua led the #1 offense in the NFL, but Tua's superpower is his accuracy..... all a bunch of hogwash and misleading stats that mean nothing! Yes, he's better than anyone on this roster and anyone we've had here in over a decade, but the way this roster is constructed, they'll never win with him or anyone other than a superstar qb. That's easier said than done, and that's why it's time to tear it down and start all over.

Sometimes I wonder if Grier and McDaniels intentionally do not go out and obtain a veteran backup not because of money but because they are trying to appease Tua. They do not want a situation where the backup is better than Tua. I'm a Dolphins fan. Let's be honest, Tua sucks against good teams. Imagine if Russell Wilson was playing for Miami during the Buffalo game. Tua having a bad day and is pulled. Russel pulls an Andy Dalton. That would create a QB situation they do not care to deal with. They bet everything on Tua. Rolled the dice and lost. Time to move on. Buy out his contract. Miami cannot trust that Tua will remain healthy.

It was money. Non useless backup QBs cost $5-$10 million Skylar is making the league minimum $985k. Also buying Tua out doesn't accomplish anything you're still stuck with $50 million salary cap hits until 2029. The only way out is if he retires or is declared medically unable to play.

Tell me if you've heard this before....
    1. Armstead leaves the game for a play or for a series
    2. WR is hurt or on the sideline
    3. OL is struggling
Therefore, the QB takes a hit and gets hurt.
    Then....
The backup QB starts, Armstead tries to "push through" the injury and play, but he's gone a few series into the game. Then the QB takes another hit and the backup is gone.
Play calling and scheme is a massive issue because a lot of things are being forced that should not be. How many times was a QB hurt in the past 5 years because of "a poor OLine"? We talk about scheme fit and types of OL we want to have. Ya know what we need.... We need someone to block, not run down the field on running plays.

Just like you can’t design and build a house without a solid foundation, you can’t scheme and effectively execute a winning offense without a solid offensive line. The Dolphins will not have much success until Grier and McDaniel address the issue instead of chuckling amongst themselves that everyone is more worried than the o-line than they are.

You need two starting QB'S because of Tua. 1 more concussion and he's done. They knew this. Theyve covered up the oline failure by saying, "we're not as worried as you people are". Butch Barry was the new guy to solve the oline problem. The team has become a joke. Ross is a joke. Ross sees the value of the franchise rising and that takes the sting out of the failures of his "loyal" GM and coach. Remember, when he fired Flores, the papers wrote that Ross likes to be treated like a king. That's more important than competent football operations

Brian Flores got screwed by Miami's CROOKED owner who tried to bribe him into losing games intentionally so they could secure the #1 draft pick and get Tua (who they ended up drafting anyway, ironically, even after Flores refused to tank). Miami in 2024 is basically the 2023 NY Jets -- paid a boatload for a franchise QB and then had no viable back-up ready to operate the offense at that level when the big guy went down. At least in NY's case, they can get a mini-"pass" because NOBODY ever expected Aaron Rodgers to rupture his Achilles on the 4th play of the season ... BUT Miami gets NO such "pass" because they (and the entire NFL) have KNOWN for AT LEAST TWO YEARS that Tua is very susceptible to sustaining concussions -- and VERY BAD concussions at that !!!!!! And yet the Fish STILL made no viable plans for a back-up QB who could run their offense the same way Tua does -- so NO sympathy for the foolish foresightless fins !!!!!!!!!

@@warrenjohn1307 not to mention Miamis defense keeping Seattle in check all game time after time the kids just trash. With Tua the dolphins easily win that game. They abandoned the run they were running real good for a while. Quarterback play was just junk

I'm surprised Ryan Tannehill has not signed on for a second tour with the Dolphins. I'm even more surprised that Carson Wentz has not been traded for by this time. Tua will not be coming back this season. Malik Willis was garbage until he found a coach and wasn't. If the coach is good either Wentz or Tannehill would be a huge upgrade.

McDaniel looks stoned on the sidelines. It's obvious he's not a good NFL head coach. The Dolphins lose to any winning team. Beating up on the dregs of the league doesn't mean anything come January. Tua or no Tua the Fins aren't built to beat any good playoff team. Watching them play the Chiefs last season was hilarious.

I never had a issue with Skylar being the back up. I’m not saying he is the answer but dude deserves more time. Sucks he got hurt, looking forward to seeing what Huntley can do but I think Skylar Thompson is better than people give him credit for
