Well done. In a lot of ways easier to play at tempo as missed notes or timing issues are masked over. After 30 years as a musician, I’ve discovered the only thing more difficult than playing a piece fast is playing it slow.
I've studied this prelude at the same velocity, a long years ago...and then I increase the pulse, but not even to the magnificient execution of Pogorelich or Kissin! How old Is the Steinway in the video? And what's the model? It has a beautiful and brilliant sonority.
It isn't painfully slow for intermediate-level students who want to learn this. I realize this piece is way above the intermediate level, but nowadays in RUclips culture pianists who really shouldn't be learning this want to try so desperately to learn it. It is my job as a teacher and educator to demonstrate this at a tempo that intermediate-pianists can handle.
A greatly reduced tempo really underscores the ballet-like complexity and sublimity of this piece. Simply beautiful!
I think I'll eventually take on this prelude after 10 more years of training xD
Same
Actually, maybe a bit less than ten years.

slowly
Great execution from a well educated scholar of the music keys
Currently learning this piece (without the use of sheet music) and this has helped me tremendously. Probably my 100th watching this.
Y lo mismo que dije hace unos días en el otro que se hubiera removido. Saludos, Profe. Siga haciendo lo mejor en YT. Gracias. 🙏
Finally this is what I've been waiting for, thankyou bachscholar

I dont know if he plays normally and slows it or play slowly, if the latter, an award of patience for him this is painful to play slow

@@BachScholar thank you for taking up that job...
Thank you
It can sound strange, with many twists and turns, and repetitions of certain note groups- quite different from the accustomed sound.
Ну отлично же!
First!
