      What about attaching posts to a cement or concrete? Do I do the same method but minus one of the steel plates

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  Год назад +1

      @sychochef6666 great question so you would only need the bottom face plate that is on the post you’ll want to mark the whole locations and you’ll wanna pre-drill using the right size drill bit for anchoring it down you wanna use red head, concrete anchors, most likely half inch by 3 inch it will tell you the size concrete bit to use to pre-drill them

    I watched you more than once put the bottom brackets on the deck railings upside down. All in all, good video, bro. It's very detailed.

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  Год назад

      yeah, it was hot that day. I assure you they are all on correctly though. they won’t allow you to put it on upside down. They only go on one way, so it’s kinda dumb proof as far as that. Lol thanks for your comment and thanks for watching. Please subscribe it’s free and if you really want to be saw that like and share.

    Can you use a straight rail kit on the stairs as long as you cut the angle correctly?

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  6 месяцев назад +1

      no, you cannot. You have to use a stair rail if you use a straight rail, your spindles will not be standing plumb.

  • @danielcichello4421

    I've only got 4 steps, do I still need to get my bottom step posts to measure 42"? The posts at the top of the steps are OK at 39" right?? Did you make the bottom 42" only because you used 2 sections to make 8 ' stair railing??

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  Год назад

      No, the post at the bottom step need to be 42 to allow for the angle and to still allow for the height of the top rail. Just leave them long if you’re getting a 8 foot 4 x 4 I would even just cut it at 48 inches if you’re getting a pose sleeve 8 foot I too would cut that at 48 inches once you put your rails up you can cut it short as you like to. I hope this helps please subscribe it’s free and if you want to be really solid like and share thank you so much if you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask if I can help you I will.

      42” if you want to match the stair railing to the decks railing.

    Very good video. I wish you would have shown how you put in the bottom peg that gives support. Is the just a hole there that you pop it into?

    It looks like Home Depot only sells one size of post install kit, where do I get the taller ones for stairs?

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  Год назад +1

      Watch the video it shows you what to do you use the same postop kit but you by 8 foot post sleeves and you cut them in half at 48 inches each when you slide that on you take the black piece that goes on the post up and you slide it in upside down in the post sleeve it’s all in the video please subscribe it’s free and if you want to be really solid lake and Cher, do you have any other questions please ask

    Thanks for responding back, but, i was asking about that 3" bracket under the bottom rail. How does that go on? I cant find one video that shows it. It might be super simple, but, i havent gotten the railings yet.

      The bottom bracket slides right on it’s at the 4:20 second mark

      The bracket that helps with the weight. You center it in the middle

      @@bey111101 so that is just a short little piece of square plastic that they provide you with, and it gets a small screw that screws it to the bottom rail
