    When you say "I turned back the pipe" does that mean you took it to a machine shop and the put the pipe on a lath and cut the diameter down?

    This is a great design, especially for the ability to easily disassemble it. Thanks for the video.

    Hey, I've been inspired by your videos of the bike draisine and I've come to a conclusion that I'm going to build one myself. I've looked at many projects and your one looks the best for me.
    I need a rail cart that can be dismantled in order to transport it in my estate car, and which is light enough that I can turn it around on my own and your one is perfect.
    The biggest challenge for me is to design the whole construction and get all the pieces working together. I also want to install at least one emergency disc brake which would be put on the axle.
    I'm also thinking about buying silicon wheels instead of steel beacause they are cheaper and lighter but I don't know if they are that durable.
    Have you got any advice on any particular areas that I should be especially cautios with when builiding the cart?
    Cheers from Poland

      Awesome. Im so glad to hear that. I will think about your comment and get back to you, with my thoughts. It's so cool to hear from Poland. One of our closest family friends was from Poland.

    Where did you find the wheels? I can negotiate the other parts but need that info. Turned 70 today and building a railroad cart is absolutely on my to do list as a lifetime railroad enthusiast.

      Awesome. Yes build one for sure. I love mine. Especially love that it's quiet. I'm going to add an electric 26" wheel from Amazon (for a bicycle)

    What width did you decide on from flange to flange? Is 4’8” appropriate or did you do the full guage?

    • @pappysproductions
      @pappysproductions  3 года назад +3

      I went with 56"-58".
      The tracks varied in width, causing my cart to get wedged and de-rail.
      Thanks for watching and subscribing, my man!

      56” stayed on well?

    • @shawnk9062
      @shawnk9062 3 года назад +1

      I bought the same wheels as you for my next version. The version i built last weekend didnt have enough flange or the right guage so it constantly derailed at dos cabezas

      Hi Mark.
      I put a link to the wheels in the description in this video and most, if not all my Rail cart videos. However, sometimes those links expire. Here are 2 links I just looked up. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Join our rail cart page on Face book to see everyone's carts and build progress.

    Those are not bushings or bearings. They're called pillow blocks and they have a bearing inside the casting......but you already know that....right ?? LOL

      A pillow block is a bearing, just a specific type of bearing, so he is correct in calling it a bearing.
