its good that occasionally people like SB bring his name back into the limelight where it deserves to be sadly one of those if only stories but the guy had some talent
Gotta love buncey. Great boxing voice. I remember his 2003 mini doc on kirk very fondly . Great peace of work.... I knew a guy who said he use to see kirk around the park drinking, even drank with him and hadn't any idea who he was until the doc was shown on BBC. He couldn't believe the little guy with the big beard wandering around holding a can and a spliff was actually once a world class athlete..
I never saw it , I asked Steve if it was around , he has a load of copies but none of them have any sound on which is a shame he descibes the work he did on this doc as he best ever work
Think so many legends in boxing but how many fighters the world never got to see because mental issues or s injury , or fate that we may go he was great but instead fans go who , bad luck and some came when boxing was so loaded that if some fighters came around at a different time they may have been a great champion , like some may have had all the tools , talent and live the sport but find out they have a bad heart and broken neck so they never get to be nothing more then a sparring partner its sad
Thanks for making this.
and thanks to Steve Bunce for remembering him in the book and keeping the conversation going
Kirkland Lang so much natural talent and ability and sadly forgotten.
@teamblitz1990 hopefully this reminds a few people they can look up some of his fights on you tube
quite right there are a few on there sad he never got managed better and guided better in life could have been a real world beater

@timcaple5167 it's on RUclips
He should have made lots of money off the back of the Duran fight.
Unfortunately his trainer and promoters were bent
sad many of the time also fell by the wayside Kirk prob the most talented of the lot
Bunce’s high pitched shouting while moving his hands around like he’s a boxer drives me mad.
sorry about that , i will let him know 😂

sums up boxing , if Kirk had been around today he would have been managed well and not fallen into the life he did
Whose Pete Durran?
@@davidpriem1157 no idea might be Roberto’s cousin 😂
Duran was training 😮
never a time when Duran would go into a fight not to win it simply not in his dna, had an off night possibly
