Off the top of my head, Jidenna and Yvonne Orji both publicised their visits to Nigeria and nothing happened to them. These things get exaggerated at times. However, right is not the best time to come, we're having drama with fuel (I think Americans call it gas) scarcity and a recent change in currency is causing a lot of chaos. Both seem to be tied to the upcoming elections, so probably wait until after the elections and just travel with people that know the country well and can help you navigate.

Your uncle is the legendary Sunny Okosun and you’re discouraged not to go back home. I grew up on your uncles music, RIP to him. But this segment is somewhat bullshit because everyone basically is saying don’t go. In my opinion that’s saying don’t go to O’Block, but people still go to Chicago. You’re promoting a whole country in a negative light. I now stay in America, but when I go back home I stayed for as long as 4 months. Although you’re famous but you’ll be safe. I went to Nigeria 20 years ago. I had a police escort everywhere I went. It was boring as hell. My cousins was mad as hell because I couldn't go anywhere. Keep in mind I was a 26-year very successful drug dealer from Detroit at the time. My dad lived in a gated community, and all I did was walk around in circles. Drove me crazy. One day, some dudes claimed that someone had a gun. It had to be about 30 people running away from the "gun" I started running towards the "gun." I never found the guy with the gun or the dude that lied about the gun. Either one of them would have been the shit in my eyes at the time. To make a long story short. I had a good time seeing family I only heard about. When I was leaving, my family asked me for every thing I had. They didn't know what the designers were. I gave away prada shoes, dolce, Gucci sport watch. My luggage only had socks and draws. Then I get to the airport and security pulled me out of line. Told me I'm not leaving unless I pay them. I literally had socks and draws and $50 American. Some male guard took that. I thought I was good. Next thing you know, a woman said she was the chief bla bla something, and I had to give her something too. I turned my pockets inside out and told her how my family got my for all my money and clothes. The other "boss" hit me for my last $50. She said ok, she then said when you get home. Send me some Rogaine for women. Gave me her information. I bought the Rogaine but lost the info.
    End of story.

If you don't know how to move through Nigeria, especially during election time, you're a fool to be heading over there. The fact that Godfrey doesn't even know that there's an election going on is proof that he shouldn't be going at the moment. DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISh, they will hear your accent and prey on you. only speak pigin English or your native language. Never get angry or raise your voice, be extremely polite. When ppl ask you for money, politely say No cuz Its a trap. Switch hotels, switch up routine, Act broke and be humble, no Flashy cars or lifestyle, any generous donation should be private and anonymous. Additional tip is avoid late night movement unless really necessary and don't go out if it is not important or necessary. Good luck bro, didn't even know you are a fellow Nigerian. Love your comedy. @@redpillras3456 Tourists have been dying a lot more recently. I suspect it's due to people back in the tourists' countries putting hits on them though. One of them I believe was confirmed to be such a case.

But that can be real talk. Ppl saying u need to come back home, but make sure u know what “home” is. People from other countries always told me, don’t go beyond the tourist section & always have a guide, & try not to go alone. That advice, years later, never changes.
