I bought PG the day it came out...to me the gem of this album which is completely overlooked in this review is Night Flight. It's a Robert Plant vocal masterpiece as well as a lyrical masterpiece. Whenever I'm in NYC, I'll walk over to St. Mark's place to see the tenement building featured on the cover.

This is my third favorite Led Zeppelin album, and vies with their untitled fourth album and 'Houses of the Holy' in iconic cover art and design. Lots of classic tracks here, including "Kashmir", "Down by the Seaside", and "Ten Years Gone". Though not their final LP, 'Physical Graffiti' has the flavor of a swansong for the group.

This is a such a great album. I have a US pressing with the George Piros AT/GP etchings on all four sides and it sounds excellent. Side 1 is epic with "Custard Pie"
"The Rover" and "In My Time of Dying". I'm probably not in agreement with some, but to me "Kashmir" is a bit boring. "Ten Years Gone" is a masterpiece.

In my opinion, Kashmir is one of the most overrated Led Zeppelin songs. To me it's decent but nothing special.

I wouldn't agree Kashmir is overrated but I will say Achilles is their real magnum opus IMO.

Goes to show, managers, labels want more than their pound of flesh. Also by 75, music has changed since 70, 71. Happens every decade.
Lastly the band members evolved musically. By 77, in through the out door was different. I think you missed the point.
