  • Installing and routing the spark plug wires on the M119. I apologize if I didn't get the exact routing in the video. You should be able to pause it near the end and see how exactly they're routed.

    Add grooves to the distributor (search the Internet for the diagram) caps to keep them from fouling. Add dielectric grease to all spark plug caps for easy removal in the future. Excellent presentation so far. Thanks...

      Hallo! Ich entschuldige mich, wenn dies nicht richtig übersetzt ist. Ich nutze Google Translate. Ich habe Deutsch in der Schule gelernt, aber das ist 20 Jahre her.
      Freut mich, dass dir die Videos geholfen haben. Hoffentlich läuft Ihr Projekt gut. Kalifornien ist ein guter Ort, um ein Auto zu bekommen. Autos rosten hier normalerweise nicht, weil es nicht oft schneit, also verwenden sie kein Salz auf den Straßen. Außerdem ist es hier sehr trocken. Fühlen Sie sich frei, Ihre Fragen zu stellen, und ich werde versuchen, sie so gut wie möglich zu beantworten. Grüße aus Kalifornien!

    You think i can install this engine in a old school project, if so what will it take to make it run

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  4 месяца назад

      If you use the transmission, the hardest part would be the physical fit. The transmission is vacuum controlled so the speed sensors would be used for ASR/ESP unless you coded them out. If all the factory electronics are used, overall it wouldn't be too difficult.

      Can you email me a picture of it? Friendlymbtech@gmail.com
      Also, I'd recommend the factory plugs or as close to factory as possible. No need for super fancy or super expensive plugs.

      I also had this bracket take me by surprise (on my M119 R129). I took the bracket off (you really have to I think) but you're right it's quite awkward to get the lower hex/allen bolt out.

    • @FriendlyMBTech

      Must not be in California then lol. I do enjoy me a diesel. Some people hollow out the particulate filter and leave the cannister. The egr delete you will probably need to get a block off plate and a tune to program out the egr valve function.

    I’m about to do my bremi wires later today thanks to Your video! really helps a lot! I’m curious though for the ignition coils, Would it matter if I had two of the same. I notice after I purchased and installed that the direction for the left coil is facing down instead of up. I looked and they are both the same part number. Would it effect anything or how it drives? Should I purchase another coil?

    • @FriendlyMBTech
      @FriendlyMBTech  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! Are you meaning the coil wire on the distributor cap? As long they're connected you shouldn't have an issue.

      Im talking about the ignition coil itself. Before installing the new one the wires were facing upwards when installed. But now after installing the new ones I realized they are both the same. So now the wires face down on the left coil. The wires connected to the coil, not the cap. =) pretty much asking are there two different coils with different part numbers. Does it matter?

      So today when finishing up the wires today I checked the part number for the ignition coils I have. And they are both part # ending in 435. I checked my old ones and I’m supposed to have a 433 and a 435. Does it affect it in any way if I have two of the same coils?

      These wires were aftermarket. There are multiple sources for wires for the M119. They are no longer available from the factory.
