Those cars were fast as hell, considering that they had the aerodynamic qualities of a brick. Basically flipping the airflow the bird!

I was there that day with my dad in between 3 & 4 turn. Started raining, came a flood. My dad had a '61 pontiac and we got stuck. Dad waved a five dollar bill around and some guys came and pushed us out and we finally got out and on our way home. What memories. race got rained out at 330 miles.

Nice primitive in-car camera; but man, did those cars wiggle around or what? that track must've been bumpy as hell....

Probably the most anonymous race of Richard Petty's first 25 seasons. Qualified 27th, finished 23rd 12 laps down.

I absolutely love your channel. Keep up the great work. One of the best channels on RUclips. You should try to put together a collection of Indycar races.

Man those car's looked rough in 62! Hard to imagine they went from this in 62, to the winged car's of 69! 🤯 Thing's in racing were changing so fast in the 60's, no wonder the tire companies couldn't keep up 🤷🏻‍♂️

I wish AF Nichols had a bigger impact on the sport. He could have been legendary

One pit stop 53 seconds the next 64 seconds and the driver puts a cigarette in his mouth. Tell me that's ever happened before in nascar on video just 2 tires and full tank of gas

Probably the most incoherently edited "professional" video I've seen.

You'll notice your snide remark has a total like's of ZERO. This film look's exactly as it would have when shown in movie theater's between movie's in 62 🤷🏻‍♂️

Pontiacs ruled nascar in the late fifty,s and early sixty,s then Chrysler stepped up it's game around sixty three or four with the 426 wedge and kicked ass and Ford was there the whole time love nascar then and up to the mid ninety and totally lost interest when Earnhardt died. But on a lighter note I'm still a drag racing fan
