- Are you deceiving yourself? How do you know if you're self-deceived? James chapter 1 is an incredible book filled with so much wisdom! As you read through it, you may notice a theme pop up: self-deception. To deceive oneself is to fail to admit to oneself something that is true. I don't know about you, but I don't want to live a lie - I want to face the truth about myself, whether or not it's pretty! James 1 gives us three practical ways to identify whether we are deceiving ourselves, and what to do if we are. I hope you enjoy this Bible study! 🤍

Absolutely agree that all our gifts (not to mention our entire being) come from God. However, we do need to put in the effort. Now if we get puffed up by that effort, that is very bad, but there are people who don't put in any effort and that is different from those who do. A prayer I've had recently is God, please show me the difference between being prideful and standing up for what's right/doing the right thing. God bless you!

Thank you sooo much for this study! I loved every moment of it and it made me think about a lot honestly. I definitely resonated with a few things I’ve struggled with… like the holding my tongue from anger or outbursts of irritation. It’s something I’ve been working sooooo hard at changing.

These are really good!! You’re so wise with your word choice and explanation, I can see the Spirit of God through you. Today I actually read Proverbs 18, and I remember reading about good/bad speech in verse 21. I need to pray and see if there’s a reason this verse is repeating to me today!
