Thanks for a straight forward concise product review. There are way too many YT reviewers who clearly haven’t thought through what they’re going to say; they just turn on the camera and start talking!
I bought an "extension cord" for the reader. It plugs in under the dash, and I plug the reader into the other end. It allows me to remove and reinstall the reader easily. [it's real hard to plug the reader into my car's port]
I'm surprised no one complained about the camera filming in vertical mode! Doesn't bother me either. Good review, Im torn between the EX and this one. I like the cable on the EX though this one has more features.

Hello - I have the OBDLink MX bluetooth unit. I forget how to do something: When I'm in the Dashboard, I want to change one of the displays, but I don't know how to do it. For example, I may want to change the MPH display to the Engine Temp display. Or I may want to fill an empty space on the Dashboard with a new display. How do I do that? Thanks
Do you happen to know if it will clear the accident codes on the Air Bag Control Unit of a 2018 Honda Civic? I have bought one for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has worked great. Thanks
So I've been seeing OBD scanners like blue driver and OBDLinks MX+. Are these worth it? Need bi directional abilities and I'm seeing conflicting results with those two type scanners. But they're intriguing to me Launch CRP479? Or X6? 5 more special functions is no joke. Iam an auto tech (going on 4 yrs) and want to go to the next level (Apprentice/Journeyman) I do work at a shop, which do you recommend of these two? I'm trying too really stay below $260 and get most for the buck Of course I would need them to be able to read up to 2019, any recommendations would be fantastic
I have the OBD Link MX+ and it's power light stays on after my car is off although it says it wont drain battery if left in. Anyone know why it stays on?
I haven't noticed mine staying on, but I also don't leave mine plugged in all the time. I can't imagine it's much of a power leech though. It's small. If you have any concerns, try contacting them directly! Thanks for watching, Nick!
I have an afm disabler and with my 06 grand prix gxp its stays on when plugged in but with my 09 g8 gt it doesn't because I cant use my cigarette lighter with the car of on my 09 with the car off but can with the 06
Should go off after 2hours unless any electronic triggers it like unlocking doors are such. But All in All it's Totally Safe to Keep plugged in vehicle.
Hey Chris, My brother lives in North Africa where most vehicles are French (mainly Peugeot and Renault). Would this scanner recognize his Peugeot vehicle? Nice review. Thank you.
Bit late for you but for anyone else, these are usually OK for resetting the check engine light and reading fault codes but the best thing for PSA cars (Peugeot, Citroën, DS) is a full chip Lexia scan tool clone and diagbox software. There's plenty of resources out there for it, they're not cheap and run on old windows. There's more expensive alternatives apparently but I've only used lexia. I also own a Obdlink LX which works fine with Citroën for rev, speed, maf, coolant readouts etc and clearing some faults. It doesn't see airbag and abs faults. My MX+ has just arrived so not sure if it sees more than the LX on PSA vehicles but it can definitely read more than the LX on Fords, GM and Mazda, especially when used with other software like Forscan

Your OBD connector has a B+ connection, and the OBD Link battery light confirms, if no power the OBD Link will not work.

It will drain you battery as odb2 port is always has power, no matter of your engine status.
Says it shuts off after couple mintues engine is off
Cool
The "Blue Driver" is better.... The 'Mx +" has gone up in price about $50 in the last year.

Can it plug into my toyota vios 2004 AT? Is there any bad side effect like ecu burned?
Any vehicle manufactured since 1996 will accept OBD2 scan tools. It won't hurt your ECU.
This has less features than the bluedriver the bluedriver tells you the recalls too
You can literally just Google recalls for your vehicle though lol
Good info - but ironic a tech video from soeone who doesn't record full screen?
...yes, back when IGTV was "the up and coming" I recorded full screen, but vertically... for a few videos. Then I got the sense knocked back in me :)

Wouldve been nice if you used a car with problems as an example.
I agree, but that situation wasn't available at the time of filming
