I like the artist, i like their work and i like the video, but dear lord the music in the background is like listening to someone chew food with their mouth open lol.
Sorry but I don’t get it. Technically she is a bit above beginners level. The expression is kitsch. Painting artsy people from photographs, and flowers. Everything she says comes off as pretentious bs „prince harry is such an angel“ „people change over time“ really? So deep. Look at the painting at 9:39 min. Isn’t that from twilight movie? She comes off like a16 year old who just discovered, that there is more than anime and Justin Bieber out there in terms of artistic expression. People seem to treat it as some deep art. I guess she knows the right people.
Stop dude. Art isn't a compition about who's more advanced than who. Art is an expression of thoughts and emotions. No one's thoughts and emotions are wrong.
I like her honesty, and her style. I don't care if she's at any level because her art is original and comes from the way she experiences it. Just enjoy it, or don't. She brings artistic beauty into the world, don't denigrate that.
John Castle Totally disagree, she makes paintings from photographs which is not copying and absolutely normal for an artist from the 21st century, many great artists like bacon worked from photographs. Plus she’s painting in her personal style & techniques.
@@khm2917 Bacon worked with live models generally, and when he copied he didn't copy mechanically, they were jumping off points. This woman's work is nice, but not my taste personally. I feel it lacks depth and I wouldn't put her anywhere near the level of Bacon.
Auriflamme obviously I wasn’t comparing her to bacon, I’m comparing her technique of painting from photographs with many great artists like Gerhard Richter, Luc Tuyman, Francis Bacon etc... I understand that you’re not a big fan of her work but you can’t deny her artistic importance and influence. She’s one of my favorite artists of all time and she inspired many people like me.
Many of the greatest painters since the 1880s have used photographs as material to copy from ,including Whistler ,George Clausen, Samuel Butler, Fredrick Goodall.

her art is definitely technically impressive though
perfectly explained
She is a very beautiful soul
I have just met this, and yes it is real beautiful, the story of her and the way she tells it is beautiful, as well.
Don't agree with her about the royals, but I like her art and the way she talks about it, really interesting! Also amazing background music :)
Great artist! A great philosopher and a great master of his craft.
Finally. A young artist on the show.
Born in 1965.
She was in her early 50s in this video

Love her work!
Why did Elizabeth Peyton appropriate Neil Jenney’s technical approach to painting?
I love the way she paints lip(stick). That is her signature stamp. Love her paintings 😍!

Lotta sexism still lingering in the art world...
Copying photographs means your a photocopier and not a painter

John Castle God you're stupid. Also it's "you're" not 'your a'. How many fucking times has that mistake been made and then corrected and yet still...

Perhaps the most pretentious and overrated artist of our time.
Matteo One why you’re calling her “pretentious” ?? She’s one of the best artists working nowadays & one of my favorite of all time
Matteo One her artworks are simply beautiful
@@khm2917 Technically everyone is one of the best 'X'.
as artists we dont owe anyone to be humble, art is within our heads, our perceptions, its not necessarily all about the work we put out.
Another naff female "artist", along with Stella Vine, Rachael Whiteread, Rita Kahlo, Sandra Blow, plus others whose names I thankfully don't remember.

There are plenty of naff male artists out there. Her gender has nothing to do with her artistic ability or inspiration.
