Fining someone for what he/she does in their private life goes very far, almost to the extent of thought control. I think everyone is entitled to have a separate work/private life, because this situation is not helping to have a healthy mental separation between the two.
Wait, what? How is that possible, that a real world court convicts you for breaking rules of a game and actually sentences you to a RL punishment? Are you kidding?
The fine is not enforceable if they don’t want to pay it. If it causes you to quit that’s fine, but they will not allow you to play in events the organization runs until it’s payed.
The fine is discounted from the prize and they are enforced that way. Also, the ones about being late and makup are not ridiculous. Players have salaries and obligations.
It's not that strange. If a country recognizes a game's or a company's terms and conditions as a legal tool and somehow adapts their own national laws to uphold users who violate those terms and conditions responsible, then it's expected that you get community service as a punishment and a fine to go along with it. Mind you that korea literally makes you link your social security number when you first create an account, so you can't really get away with it. What would be strange, to me, is if that punishment is/was done without the judicial system or court having a say in it. If it's an unilateral punishment without the accused having a way to defend himself from the accusations, or even fight back, then it becomes a problem, otherwise it's just the national laws doing their job.
@@jaco6229 I agree it makes absolutely no sense this is his personal life Unless he literally did it with a person in the community at the event itself this makes no sense
