Fantastic Review, I really enjoyed it. What made me a little nervous, is that I didn't have any protection to remove from the front of the screen, but did have some protection to remove of the back of the screen - which is weird. I wonder if any fellow owners had the same packaging issues.... I'm nervous that my monitor isn't new.... (I'm now asking this question in pretty much all reviews / unboxing of the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" - and might decide to send mine back!)
Can't see me taking anything but a 57" as my first monitor since they were tubular bulks. I have around 7 cm behind my desk and the wall due to a wall feature. How to use that space though, one of those fancy arms? I might move the desk to the middle of the room and place a sim racing cockit at like 150º the other way. Some people do that to make the most of one awesome monitor, and have less clutter (sim racing is a clutterbomb for many).
Dan thats a SWEET setup there! Did you mention what computer you're using? Also I noticed a "remarkable" tablet on your desk. Have you done a review on that bad boy? Thanks. JG
@@mikefarrington7141 the monitor is 7680 x 2160 which is absolutely 8k but most computers can’t run an 8K display and not many cables to support it either so you can run it as two 4K displays. There are a zillion different ways to drive this monitor and people get really lost in it which is hilarious. Driving 7680 x 2160 at 140 ppi even at scaled resolutions is still insane.
@GearsGadgers Sorry, but you’re mistaken. It takes four 4K displays to reach 8K resolution of 7680x4320 (when measured in its traditional 16:9 aspect ratio). The same way it takes four 1920x1080 to get to 4K. It’s a common mistake; no offense intended. I stumbled across this video looking for true 8K monitors (which are quite rare) and figured I’d pass along the correction. It’s a great monitor regardless.

I never use HDR. It always feels like an artificially enhanced experience on any monitor I’ve used it on. I also don’t like it for video editing because I find it hard to color grade in HDR for non HDR viewers.
@@RedLeo-pf9yo No. no one is differing. Equivalency of two 4k 32” screens side by side does not equal 8k (that’s not how it works). Vertical resolution is maxed out at 2160. I own this monitor.
A HUGE CRAP ! After a few months, your excitement will wear off and start to see the flaws ! ENJOY THE MOMENT.....SAMSUNG DIDN'T DELIVER THE QUALITY IT DESERVED......
holy cow that's badass awesome! way to level up !
You gotta love new monitor day !!!!❤😂
Great setup, GO PHILS!
Now that is some serious gear! Love it! 🎉
THAT is a monitor! Nice!! 👍👍

Thanks, mine didn’t have plastic on the face either.
What size is the post you received for the monitor mount - 15.7" or 20"?

Dan, what desk do you have? The motorized sit/stand desk where'd you get it? I'm loving the setup!!!
That’s a beautiful monitor!
Nice setup!
Thanks! It is amazing.
What desk are you using?
Wow how good does that look 👍🏻🇦🇺
It looks incredible.

DUDE HELL YEAH

Love the setup 👌🏼 😊
whats ur desk size? 30 inch or 24 inch?
I also want to know this.
Dual 4K is not 8K

@@mikefarrington7141exactly correctly I can’t believe op has not corrected the title - misleading video
This is not an 8k monitor. 8K is 4*4k. Love the practical setup!
7680 × 2160 is definitely considered 8K and thanks.
If you cut it horizontally in half I guess you could consider it 4kish. It's your monitor afterall ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ @@GearsGadgets

cool set up.
How do you like HDR content with this?

not 8k just 2x4K; 8K is 4Kx4 (resolution wise)
Damn bro!!
It looks like a toy compared to my 55" 8k TV.
this is not an “8K display”. It’s 4K.
Others beg to differ.

@@Neur0bit exactly redleo clearly doesn’t understand this concept. Video name was deceptive as this is NOT an 8k display it’s dual 4k as one panel
The PPI is terrible!
8k is 7680x4320 and not 7680x2160 as your monitor has.
I wish I could afford that monitor I got the redeon 7900 xtx in my Rig I probably gonna mount it on the wall
