  • We get a tour of the two main signal boxes on the Colne Valley Heritage line, at Hedingham and Nunnery as well as the new build at Darwell using the ex Kennett Signalbox, unusual in signalling preservation as it was before decommissioning upon the national network refurbished In upvc construction and double gazed windows so it represents a more modern heritage cabin.
    We also get a run up the line during a non running day possession and see the line and it’s signals from a unique perspective not normally seen .

    It's interesting how some of the smaller railways have more interesting signalling than some of the larger railways

      @@irseminorrailwayssection9491 the Northampton and Lamport railway also have an interesting signalling system as well

      I had a friend who worked Kennet back in the late 70’s. Spent a few nights in there with him back then.
