This starts to make more and more sense as I read more philosophy (mostly western, but it shouldn't matter I guess). It really depends on your state of mind when you are listening to his words. Had I been listening to this several years ago, it would have been just words passing by my ears. Now, it's something very different.
The problem with us humans is that we think we are so significant. We are no more than a very tiny insignificant cluster of matter that evolved to gain consciousness for an insignificant period of time. We are not living individuals but instead we are an integral part of a universe that is alive and we relate to everything that this universe contains. Asking ourselves what is the meaning of our life is similar to a blood cell in our body asking itself about the meaning of its life. The answer to the meaning of our life is to achieve perfection in everything. If you feel you are up to this challenge please knock yourself out trying to achieve it but for me, I’d rather mind my own business and live happily in accordance with my insignificant size because our contribution to the life of the entire universe is equal to a 1 divided by infinity and the answer in always 0.
I love this man he explains everything to where everyone can understand him and without understanding you have not gained any knowledge. I would love to meet him and talk to him about something that happened in my life with a family member to get his opinion on it because im not sure if i was right or were thwy right and to me his opinion really does matter.
Even though he talks about the lifestyle of americans even though in india there are people who are just the same way or worse. Also that he states that a person can manifest themselves as god is a lie. No one can be god because if we were all gods no one will have personal issues or issues period and this world would not be the way it is now

yep its like asking why a flower grows. life and you and your surroundings are one in the same thing.

Completely agree! People who think that life has a god given purpose do the most treacherous deeds. Life in and of itself is just life. Nothing exists except for our current moment and state of mind. The human mind looks for a way to seek out and overcompensate our true meaning, when in actuality it is right in front of us, yet we waste our lives attempting to obtain a certain ideology for our existence.

The first time I am going against Sadh Guru. Life should have meaning and purpose. If you don't have any purpose, you will be driven by other people which would lead to disastrous situations in life. If Sadh Guru does not have any purpose, how come he understands all the things about life. He is a very great philosopher but I clearly disagree on this point. People need to create purpose in their own life for happier and more mindful.

I think what he's saying is, is that life is already a "divine purpose within itself"...and until a being knows this fundamental truth completely they would be committed to "finding" a "purpose" and not "knowing" their purpose...leads to ego-driven faith...
@@ascendantindigo271 Well said, I totally agree. I was tormented for years looking for my purpose, trying to understand everything about life. When I let it go, I finally understood that I couldn't possibly understand anything in the grand scheme of things, neither do I have a "life purpose" beyond the experience of life in this body, I felt peace XD And to Tenzin Nyima, we are taught to "need" an individual purpose, otherwise our lives are meaningless, so it can be hard to open up to another way of thinking. But I think giving and receiving love is enough of a purpose. As Sadguru said, if you have a purpose and achieve it, what then? Well, we have evidence of what happens then : with countless lottery winners, Movie Stars and Actors etc. turning to drugs, and often suicide because they "fulfilled their purpose". You could be lying on your deathbed, thinking of all the nobel prizes you had won, or the mansions you had bought, and none of that would make you feel as if you had a successful life if you didn't have people around you to hold your hand or mourn your passing. On the other hand, you could have lived a very simple life, accumulated little wealth and no fame or notoriety whatsoever, but if on your deathbed, you are surrounded by loved ones, I think you will feel that you have lived a good life. I feel to gain clarity on this matter, you have to meditate on the end of your life...that's where you can see what truly matters. After doing that, and listening to great teachers such as Sadhguru, I for one don't believe we have a "purpose" in the way we have been led to believe XD
@@pianissimo369 That was an amazing statement...It's still shining through the gate of my consciousness...what I was told by "metatron" is that everything you see is held together by things you can't see...it is the things we can't see that are instantly effected by our thoughts and eventually those particles form thoughts that dictact our actions...let's make them positive...
May be life has no purpose and that may be a brute reality but that does not help stop humans from asking this question - because not having a purpose is an answer that does feel satisfactory - As such this question still remains and its relevance would not diminish unless it is answered satisfactorily. I still need to know the purpose of life ? why are we born ? else it feels like a big waste -- Just like what was the purpose of dinosaurs ? No purpose ? -- What I have seen so far is two extremes -- one without purpose and other is praise and recognition and conformation to laws of God -- Let me say that I do believe that there has to be some higher power who has created this whole universe...the whole world and beyond including all of us. I totally agree that it is done by that almighty creator ? But why has the creator created us ? If Almighty creator has no associates, no equals and is undisputed supreme lord - and no one can challenge that -- What was the need for that creator ( I do not know how to refer to that creator - not sure whether I can refer to the creator as HE or SHE) to create a bunch of life forms including humans ? I am sure Creator knows of all the people that everything is created by (him/her) so he does not need recognition or confirmation from such low life forms that (he/she) is the creator. If this is the initial purpose of life - that does not sound right. If our purpose of to conform to laws of the creator - that is also not in our hands - we have no choice but to conform to the laws of that creator - I agree that Creator is the sole entity (if I may call that) to create laws of nature and we are all bound by that -whether we accept it or not - but that is not the purpose of life -- that is default destiny of everyone -- even those who are thinking that they are not believing in GOD or some Supreme being -- are also knowingly or unknowingly conforming and follows laws of nature... So that does not sound like purpose of life ? Similarly praising the creator in gratitude is right thing to do because if this whole universe and beyond is the creation of the almighty creator, we human beings who are not even tiny specs in the grand scale of multiple galaxies and the whole universe/multiverse, all praise and appreciation be to him. I do not think that Creator would have created us to simple receive our praises. Almighty supreme already knows that Creator alone is deserving of all praises and respect of all living being (and dead as well). So the questions remain - what is the true purpose of life ? May be Almighty wanted us to discover the secrets that are hidden in this creation and eventually discover enough to understand that true purpose of life is to discover the same almighty through these science and discoveries. And while we discover all the secrets, we should ensure that as a life form, we are able to sustain ourselves for long enough. Because one life is too short and there are still infinite amount of discoveries to be made. Well so much of human beings - what is the purpose of inanimate life forms other than human beings ? Are they out there just to be killed and consumed by human beings ? What happens to those animals who just live and die of old age and never came in contact with us? what was their purpose ? Is our purpose to achieve salvation and nirvana from this life ? If that is the purpose - why were we born ? Because DEATH is the ultimate truth and no one has escaped DEATH, why did Creator created us ? If we are Creator's creation, how can we DIE ? I think there are lot more questions, and while I would really be shattered, if there was no GOD or CREATOR, we need to still struggle to come up with good understanding of why we are born and why CREATOR created us.

My 'purpose' is nothing to do with the body that I am occupying, it's far greater than the clothes that I dress it with. My purpose is to try and awaken others to the more positive side of their earthly existence.
To turn off the negative TV dramas, to cease the constant checking of their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. Quit the playing of video games that depict violence and war. And to do their utmost not to buy the latest car, of which the only winner is the corporations that suck the money out of you!
Instead we must retune ourselves in the art of conversation with each other. Meet up with each other more than we should and talk, not just about the children, work and what ones next vacation will be. But to actually talk about the true meaning of our existence, in helping others without any reward.
We have to strive for a worldwide peace, through 'Love, Understanding and the Forgiveness' of others. We must try never to judge each other no matter what that person has done. Because unless I have walked in 'your shoes' and you 'in mine' then no one has the right, only the law of KARMA will decide!

I have to admit that I have just woken from my sleep. When I sleep, nine times out of ten I astral travel. I am now doing this more than I have ever done in my life, and I'm waking up extremely tired.
And in this latest one (just before I saw your message), I was telling a teenage girl exactly what you have read. I went on to tell her that our true reason for living is to bring this World back into a harmony of LOVE, that hasn't been around for a few millennia. I said that she must go forward with my words and instill them into others, and when the next generation comes... we will have a World full of genuine 💖 LOVE 💖
Then she said, that she will visit me again soon, and bring more with her to hear what I have to say.
We have no control over how we sleep, but if one goes to sleep with true love inside them, then we will make the 'positive' even more possible, and the message even more greater!

I don't get an answer it just like life is life wether you grownup with the miserable life just live like it was..and if you live in nice life live just it was?no need make an effort or contribution for other's life..this is how some people they just enjoying themselves without looking after other people or helping them. I normally love his talks but this one really stirred up fear for me. I couldn’t sleep all night worried that life had no meaning or purpose. Am I hearing this correctly? It made me feel very unstable. Like there was no point to do anything of value in this life.
Life has a purpose he was unable to answer.
That’s not what he meant at all. He meant life is so enormous that we can’t contain it in meaning and purpose. Life is beyond that. We can’t explain life in that limited way. Life is thriving every moment and expanding that we can’t limit its possibilities by defining petty purpose and meaning.

I used to think he is a sage of some sort but he ruined my expectations. In short, he said, life has no meaning. Life has no purpose, don't look for a purpose. Just live, explore and die. I say, "You sure did live entirely and fully but you failed to create anything". Living without creating something that you can have forever is utter foolishness. I am not talking about creating legacy after we die.

Just time waste. He just said that there is no any purpose of life, never remained bound to only one purpose. But life is meaningless without any purpose. Life has definitely a purpose. Totally disagree! The purpose is Higher, wether you believe in the Almighty Creator, or not! May be you should listen to Steven Covey, that you need to rise up through self discipline it Interdependence. In, probably the words of Buddhism/Hinduism "Nirvana”! And no it’s not becoming a or the Deity, and certainly not Uniting with him.

I like the teachings of Sadhguru, but I can't agree with him in this one.
Everyone and everything here in Universe has a purpose. Only a few is G_d-given.
i.e. our own body, every organ has its own functions / purpose for our body to have life and function optimally.
Your purpose is the one which you love to do, ex. if you become a Doctor and you like it, then be good at it, because that is your purpose, to heal sick persons.
Only those who seek G_d-given purpose whilst G_d don't have special purpose for them, will assume something as their purpose. And they are the ones who had the potential to do horrible things.
For humans the main purpose of life is to purify our DNA we continually evolve into perfection until then life in Earth will be like in heaven.
It is the same for the souls/spirits they evolve too.

And the heaven, We built it with craftsmanship and We are still expanding.

It's because humans have not become intelligent suddenly in the last100 years, we have been discovering things and building our science for last 15000 years, that's how we have reached where we are today. Now quran is manmade, it's just one man's belief which resonates with billion other people who find logic in what is written. It's manmade, anything which is manmade cannot define God. We are humans and we are flawed, hence all our creations are also flawed. It applies to religion and the holy books of our religion
