Curtiss Hawk H75 = simply awesome. Basically a P-40 with a radial engine that is sounding very hot & strong. This is one very very nice aircraft. My # 4 favorite of the WWII era. Thanks so much for posting.

Thanks Craig. She is surprisingly fast and nimble and yes, a great aircraft.

Yes, but minus 6x .50 cals, armour, self sealing fuel cells, etc. Very nimble for its time tho.

Thank you for this video, it gave me chills to see the real Curtiss Hawk H75-C1 flying, especially the one which is wearing French 1940 camouflage.👍 Although this aircraft is not as famous as Hurricane or Spitfire, it has significant importance for our Czech military aviation history as well. It was the Curtiss, which gave an opportunity to our exile pilots in the Armée de l'air to pay back the Germans. It was also the Curtiss, which allowed them to gain their first aerial victories. For example, Alois Vašátko and František Peřina, who flew Curtiss H75 in the unit GC I/5, shot down 12 and 11 enemy aircracts during the French campaign! And the Luftwaffe in the 1940 was certainly not an easy opponent… so that speaks for itself. Nice to see this legend flying again… thank your once again and best regards from Czech Republic! 🇨🇿

Thank you for your wonderful summary of the history of Czech pilots in the Armee de l’air 1939/40 and their use of this aircraft against the Nazi’s. Many of those brave Czech pilots will have gone on to help defend Britain and given their lives during the Battle of Britain. 310 Czech Squadron based at Duxford during 1940 Battle of Britain downed 37.5 enemy planes and Josef František of 303 Polish Squadron became one of the most famous Battle of Britain aces - I salute them and all of the brave Czech nationals who helped defend our shores and freedom from Nazi oppression. I may now have to do a film to celebrate your compatriots achievements? Thank you and best wishes from the United Kingdom.

No narration or music. Just great footage and radial engine sounds coming from a beautiful plane.

The best version had the 1200 hp P&W engine. A good lead-in trainer for the Norweigians in Little Norway, Canada.

Only wish the RAAF had got a few of these in the early years of WW2. We had nothing in Australia at this time. A great beautiful little aeroplane, much underrated. 👌
