  • Is it even possible to put every animal in one franchise zoo? I'm going to find out! Today we finish adding the Eurasia animal pack adding takin and wolverine!
    👉 We now have a DISCORD, with community games, giveaways and more! Joint the fun here / discord
    About me: I'm Plastic Swans and I do a lot of wacky stuff with Planet Zoo, like racing the animals and time trials. I like to call this kind of thing wholesome chaos and that's what I try to do most of all on the channel. I also make one-off habitats and zoos, and I also make the starter habitats for Planet Zoo, a collection of ready-made franchise/challenge compatible habitats for every animal in the game.

    Takins (as well as muskox) are actually a member of the Caprinae family, along with goats and sheep. Technically, caprines are antelopes (though I do agree they don't look like it).

      Antelopes are so weird... I've been looking into their taxonomy a lot recently and I was so confused all the time.
      For example, animals like Nilgai and Bongo are closer to cows than they are to, say, gazelles or lechwe...

      @@the.aardvark I mean vertebrate taxonomy is simple enough. It's either very intuitive or just something you can remember (like with afrotheria) but phylogenetics (especially of worms) are some of the worst in the pre-studying I've done

    This is my favorite Planet Zoo Series on RUclips! Thank you for making these videos. I hope you’ll consider sharing this zoo in the Steam workshop when it’s all done :)

      Thank you! I'll absolutely share when it's complete! I haven't got the motivation to upload before it's finished as it'll need constant re-uploading every couple of months! I'm expecting the next DLC will be the last pack for Planet Zoo so it won't be far off completion once that's released

    I think something that would massively help with the stress issue is to have the animals actively seek out areas that break line of sight when they're stressed. Currently, they get stressed, the game says they're trying to hide, but they just... don't. Or if that is something that is already in the game, it clearly doesn't work well. They'll continue standing in the open and getting stressed until some other need forces them into shelter.

    • @PlasticSwans
      @PlasticSwans  14 дней назад

      This absolutely works. My lemurs were getting so stressed in my Every Animal Zoo from the volume of guests, I built them a hard shelter within the big hard shelter they already had that shielded them from the guests. The problem is that they're pathing has to take them to that hidey-hole and it rarely did. Also slow species like the tortoises take 5 days to get there 😂

      I've got back into building big time! Low-effort habitats for a good few months in this zoo, just clearing the backlog. Much prefer thinking about the species and putting in the effort!

    Yeah technically Takin are antelopes but only because the definition of antelope is a little ... squishy. Their closest relative in the game is the sheep, followed by goats and ibexes.
    Of course that doesn't stop me from referring to them as "chonk goats" ...

    Amazing habitats
    Yeah, the stress mechanic is annoying, especially for some animals like the Flamingo, like how does it make sense you can make a walkthrough habitat, but they have high amounts of stress when you do.
