The Carrera GT is not rear engine. It is a mid-rear engine. Despite this many modern Porsche’s have excellent safety ratings regardless of their unique architecture. The Carrera GT is one of greatest cars ever made and despite what critics say, the fear factor is a draw for many to this car.
@@rubberbandmandestruction390 if you Google that car the engine is behind you is my point not taking the impact first but if anything after you crash the weight from the rear would push forward but I get where you were going with the mid rear thing. Soon after hearing the news, I had a dream one night that I was there at the charity event and I was telling Paul Walker don’t do it, you’ll die. But he didn’t listen to me and went anyways as if I wasn’t there.
Bad wheels and abused car or not, if Paul would have been driving he'd still be here. I've drove a lot of different shit boxes in my day, it's all about confidence and control, and if you are missing one of those it won't end well
Carrera GT's have a flaw in the rear shocks. Jay Leno lost control on a track and almost wrecked badly and DDE had the same issue while driving. Jay actually warned DDE about the flaw weeks earlier and the shock failed and broke away from the suspension. There's videos on it.
The car was more than capable of the turn at those speeds. However the tires being 9 years old is what lowered the cars capabilities. Change your tires, stay safe folks.
In my experience, performance tires turn to junk and have little to no grip left at about 5 years old, regardless of tread depth. I can't imagine how terrible 9 year old tires must have been.
I remember hearing about his death back in 2013 when I was 13. My mom and grandfather was talking about his death and I was like, "Who was he?" They told me about fast and furious and he sounded familiar. Later, we watched "The Fast and The Furious", and it clicked because I remember watching the racing scene. But it's sad that his life ended in such an unexpected way. I don't think it's Porsches' fault for their deaths, just the driving. Even if you're very experience in a certain field or study, people can make mistakes
As soon as this tragedy came about, Paul Walker's statement "if one day the speed kills me, do not cry because I was smiling" turned out to be untrue because I no longer believe that, he was in a desperate situation in which smiling had no place. Rip Paul, I love you and miss you enormously my friend 😢❤
Porsche’s response, “speed was the factor of the crash? “. Seriously… they really stated that? If the occupants of a Porsche traveling at a mid range speed it was designed to travel cannot survive such a crash then Porsche should just stop manufacturing cars that can exceed their designed safety standards when traveling faster than the national speed limit….
Year old tires weren’t the problem that caused the crash but were a big factor when it comes to stoping the car and handling it on curves or high speed ….doesn’t matter if there not used a lot because when tires dry rod they tend to not grip at all and actually make the vehicle have more of a bounce than a smooth ride
I was in NY City that time, already based in America since 2000 ..... im not in the Phils anymore ... I still cant believe that sad news, and F& F was never the same again 😢
Maybe if the tires were changed and the brakes and suspension were up to date we wouldn't of lost such talented people in the movie and racing community it still sucks rest in peace ❤❤
It was the tires. They disintegrated. Supposedly the car was like brand new. Very low mileage. Hardly driven, but the tires were about 10 years old on it. The rubber just deteriorated over the years from mostly sitting idle.
9yr old tyres Jeez 😬. I bought a low mileage cbr600 with good looking 5yr old tyres and they were awful by then, front would just want to wash out so in the bin they went.
Can't believe it's been 10 years already, I remember it like yesterday finding out the news. Would've been interesting the films he could've made if this accident didn't take place. Wish he never got in that car. 😕
the CGT has a suspension issue where the back shock disconnects and causes the tire to lock up. Maybe thats what happened combined with extreme speed could cause loss of control of the car

Saying it can’t be driver error is ridiculous. There’s truck drivers with 5-10 million miles of experience who make mistakes. Getting too comfortable often causes tragedy’s like this unfortunately.
The tires? Your speeding? And a oro driver, as anybody who understands cars like that you'd think he'd replace what he needed to, thats crazy there's got to be more to it
Just because they were both experienced drivers doesn't mean driver error wasn't the cause. If you have driven long enough you have crashed. Look at Dale Earnhardt, pulled off the craziest save I've ever seen but died because he made a mistake. His daughter sueing makes me sick.
The last couple days I watched most of all the Fast & the Furious on TV.. the episode where Brian and Dom using movie names they both pulled up together side-by-side knowing that Paul was already gone his brother had to take his place as Brian drove to the left and Dom drove to the right at the end this was for Paul..😢 Very sad moment now his brother will be taking his place in the next Fast & Furious will it ever be the same..Have to find out..🚘🚦🚘
Tires have an expiration date. The tires on the Porsche owned and driven by Walker's friend were old and way past their expiration date. Rubber ages and over time it becomes more brittle and loses its ability to grip the road: especially on a turn. And that's what happened: the Porsche went around a turn fast; its possible that it would have been relatively safe if the tires were new even though the car was exceeding the speed limit considered safe. So the force going in the turn exceeded the tire's static friction coefficient because the rubber on the tires was old and brittle, this resulted in the tires skidding and heating up which would have reduced the tire's kinetic friction coefficient making it more slippery as the tires got hotter in the turn. Temperature wise the rubber on a tire has a sweet spot where the grip is optimal within a given range of temperatures, if the tires are too cold or too hot (outside of this temperature range) they will grip less. Similarly the age of the tire affects its ability to grip the road. Both the driver and passenger received enough blunt force trauma that they would have died just from that trauma alone, but the car ignited and so they burned to death along experiencing suffocation on top of their excruciating injuries from blunt force trauma. Every tire has a date code on its sidewall as to the year and month when it was manufactured. A tire is good for about 4-5 years after that date code. Tires not only have expiration dates, but they also have speed ratings as well as load ratings. It pays to pay close attention to one's tires as well as the condition of one's vehicle and to keep it properly maintained at all times.

If you get into an accident from the front end with an engine it would normally take most of the impact before airbags deploy. Without an engine in the front your just relying on trunk space and air bags . May those two Rest In Peace 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 lost some great ones fr
You can’t tell me having a engine in the back rather then the front makes the car a safer vehicle when crashing. But my post wasn’t to focus on if a porche is safe or not but more to gear whoever reads this to think twice after purchasing any car and to be cautious so we don’t have more tragedies like the two good gentlemen we lost
@@rubberbandmandestruction390 brother I respect your opinion but because I didn’t use the word mid before rear still makes it a “rear engine. It sits behind the seats so when you crash and momentum plunges you forward the weight of the engine will follow making the momentum that much worse. I’m not an expert on vehicle saftey but despite the excellent safety ratings, the engine behind you and trunk space/airbags rather then engine in front and airbags seems like a safer choice but that’s just my opinion 🫡
Too fast. Too soon. RIP Paul Walker.
Finally, someone that pronounces the car brand correctly. Great video 👏🏽
This car should only be driven on a track with racing seat belts and helmets… If you choose to drive on public roads, it must be factory stock properly serviced and with tires within their expiration date not by tread depth only and driven at or below posted speed limits… ‘Oh and the Earth is unequivocally an Immovable Plane less earthquakes in a Closed System not a Spinning Space Rock in a Helio Sin Trick Soul Lure System… you will remember this comment for the rest of your life…Peace
RIP Angel 🙏💔🇺🇸 You were so lovely to look at. It killed James Dean as well Porsches.
I cried for this man. This one hurt foreal not just because his gifted acting ability's but because he was genuinely a great man.
In my experience, performance tires turn to junk and have little to no grip left at about 5 years old, regardless of tread depth. I can't imagine how terrible 9 year old tires must have been.
Not to mention street tires from the early 2000s had awful heat expansion compared to todays tires.
It’s been almost 10 years now.. he would’ve been 50 this year. R.I.P beautiful soul
Weird that there wasn't atleast a single surveillance camera.
All planned
There was one video but it got wiped out from all net alongside the Autopsy photos. Although one remains on CBBC new RUclips channel
Yea folks , life is not a movie 🥳
3:02 Porsche noted that Paul Walker was a “knowledgeable and sophisticated user and knew that the Porsche HANDLED LIKE CRAP‼️”🤨
…excellent defense 😒
I like the part where they leave out Paul was threatening to expose the pedo ring of Hollywood. Just like so many others that ended up dying…
Yep he was murdered!! He knew to much about some kind of child trafficking ring.
Porsche’s response, “speed was the
factor of the crash? “. Seriously… they really stated that? If the occupants of a Porsche traveling at a mid range speed it was designed to travel cannot survive such a crash then Porsche should just stop manufacturing cars that can exceed their designed safety standards when traveling faster than the national speed limit….
Rip legend forever, see you again ❤️🙏😭
Year old tires weren’t the problem that caused the crash but were a big factor when it comes to stoping the car and handling it on curves or high speed ….doesn’t matter if there not used a lot because when tires dry rod they tend to not grip at all and actually make the vehicle have more of a bounce than a smooth ride
I was in NY City that time, already based in America since 2000 ..... im not in the Phils anymore ...
I still cant believe that sad news, and F& F was never the same again 😢
Did it actually crash??? Some say it appeared a missle hit it via the video‼️
Corect!
80-90mph...destroyed. Today's performance cars hit that in 2nd/3rd gear. That is scary.
So what is the disturbing discovery? That the car was driven too fast?
All im gonna say is ..drone strike .
So in fact no disturbing discoveries.
Insanely sad and heartbreaking. I really loved Paul! And not just because of The Fast and the Furious series. His acting was par none. And he had many great movies before hand. So sad and tragic for everyone. 😞
10 years later and it still hurts my heart dawg , he died when i 8-9 years old but i still feel it til this day , feels like i knew him … just shows how much of an impact he was to us all :( miss you big dawg ❤
FOR REAL, Can't this just be left alone??? Everyone misses him and respect him, so just leave it alone.
Rest In Peace 🙏
It's weird they say the driver was a professional race car driver, like that exempts him from not being able to make mistakes while driving.that car got demolished when it struck those objects, ive seen the video of the person that pulled up right after the impact, I doubt they survived the impact..and many "race car drivers have died in real race cars
I was 16 at the time when he passed and that was the first I ever felt sad about a celebrity passing 😔 maybe cause I grew up watching the fast movies but I couldn't believe he was actually gone I remember wanting to watch all the fast movies over again which I did💔
Saying it can’t be driver error is ridiculous. There’s truck drivers with 5-10 million miles of experience who make mistakes. Getting too comfortable often causes tragedy’s like this unfortunately.
My son was born that night. We saw the news while in the hospital waiting for him to come out. One dies and another is born...
So bro just never changed the tires on his race car??? Doesn’t sound professional to me
The tires? Your speeding? And a oro driver, as anybody who understands cars like that you'd think he'd replace what he needed to, thats crazy there's got to be more to it
Great power comes with grace responsibility and you can't be driving that fast
Just because they were both experienced drivers doesn't mean driver error wasn't the cause. If you have driven long enough you have crashed. Look at Dale Earnhardt, pulled off the craziest save I've ever seen but died because he made a mistake. His daughter sueing makes me sick.
POV: When you realize you're not ACTUALLY a race car driver.
The last couple days I watched most of all the Fast & the Furious on TV.. the episode where Brian and Dom using movie names they both pulled up together side-by-side knowing that Paul was already gone his brother had to take his place as Brian drove to the left and Dom drove to the right at the end this was for Paul..😢 Very sad moment now his brother will be taking his place in the next Fast & Furious will it ever be the same..Have to find out..🚘🚦🚘
Hey Townsend, Cold, old tires, high speed, corner. Recipe for disaster. Rodas should have known better. He raced Porsche's.
Paul Walker isn't dead, he's just waiting for us at the finish line.
