I also did not enjoy acts of desperation for all the reasons you outlined and thought it was too much. And ironically I found the severed head very detached also given that it was a story about intimate relationships.
Yeah I’m a bit over the 20 something protagonists too . I’m in my 40s and want more protagonists from the geriatric group, tbh ; I feel there aren’t many of those or at least not many I’m aware of . Blahdiggityblah, appreciate the video as always 📚🪱💚
