Fifty pounds a week on scratch cards!?!? 😮😮. Did I hear that right?? 😮😮😮
Yes- hence why I need this challenge!!!
cant get over how much you spend and go out to eat ,struggled on no money all my life, last holiday was 30 years ago, and have never had a £100 to myself and ive worked long hours, tripple shifts, to make ends meet , im sure you will cope ,many people do this every month
Unfortunately, someone spending LESS on unnecessary things, will never benefit the people who don't have any to spend at all. In fact, others spending less, would make their lives worse. The economy depends upon people frittering away their earnings. If the economy collapses, then we're all in trouble.
Sorry you've struggled. However, if you haven't improved your finances over the period of your WHOLE LIFE, maybe you should have made better decisions. Such as reeducation or better jobs. Sometimes we have to help ourselves. ( unless, like some of my friends, you're disabled) For the rest of us, we are entitled to spend money, according to our means
I really enjoy your vlogs with Tammy, hope she becomes a regular!
I used to have to live in a very tight budget so if friends asked me to go to dinner I’d say live to but instead of eating what I’d really like I’d order a cheep starter or a side that hardly costs anything and ask it to come out with the other persons main then I’d try to eat very slowly so we’d finish at around the same time that way they didn’t ‘feel bad ‘ that I wasn’t eating. I’d often say things like I forgot we were eating out and just polished off last nights leftovers so I’m quite full or I’m trying to cut down or sometimes I’d be honest and just say it’s not in my budget but it’s important that your friend doesn’t feel bad about eating when your not. I always, even now drink water except I meet a friend for a drink every week when I can stretch a pot of tea for one a whole afternoon. I’d rather drink cold tea than spend money I can’t really afford to.
Spending less doesn’t mean less fun. I quite enjoy the challenge of a frugal lifestyle 😊
What!! Scratch cards? OMG
I know!!! Isn't it SHOCKING!!!
Lovely to meet you Clare, you are most welcome. Good luck with the walk xx
Lovely to see you both ladies. Such an entertaining double act. You do make me chuckle. xx
It’s interesting how people spend their money and I think some people in the comments should live and let live ❤❤❤❤
Really enjoyed this it’s so interesting and it’s made me think . The online buying is so tempting , tidying my bedroom and seeing items opened but still in packs proves that . I buy so much I don’t need and probably don’t actually want . Thank you for the inspiration xx
Claire made me cry with her lovely words. Well done Claire xx
You've made a good effort for first week, and learning as you go along. So next week will be a little easier..thank-you to Claire for giving us some insight to her huge challenge and good luck with the walk. She'll do it ! You know some absolutely super peeps Carla, and Tammy is definitely one of them, and she wears some nice nail colours too 😊 good luck Girls x
Great vlog ladies 👍🏻 I am pretty good at not spending but it can still be improved so this has inspired me to think twice about things so thank you. Good luck you can do it 👍🏻❤️
Well done ladies it just goes to show how easy it is to spend without thinking. Great video. Oh my husband is a ex pc and he said its definitely the law to hhaave to have a ice cream from the sea-side x
Brilliant. It is amazing how much money you spend without thinking!!! Well done. Will be tuning in next week for the next instalment 🤣😂❤️xx
Hi, Carla. Ages ago you said on a vlog that you had written part of a book but abandoned it. I've discovered your channel recently (last couple of months or so) and have watched lots of your videos. At the moment I am watching your Calorie Crush videos. I'd just like to say that you should consider again writing a book. Your self insight, wisdom and general perception of the world is heart warming, refreshing and enlightening. I think you could put together a brilliant "self-help" type manual or "words of wisdom" type book. I think you are an absolute gem. I'm really enjoying these videos with your lovely friend, too. All the best. xx
@@minovin In my life, Carla is a breath of fresh air. She's less pompous, more honest, realistic and down to Earth, encouraging and insightful. Carla shows me ways to screw up and fix up, the latter being the vast majority of her self-help, how to self-correct even after years of self-deluding (I speak for myself). It's a human trait. Carla, thanks for the self-help and self-hope and thank you for your often funny, very real and practical words of wisdom. I'm probably thirty years older than you, yet you're the big sister with good ideas presented without judging me. Cheers!
You both are doing so well.. I'm starting in July.. xx
Got me thinking about my spending
Also, while watching it I popped over to Temu to buy things I just remembered I needed and when they turn up I’ll totally not know what I ordered
This is a great honest review on how to work a budget. Defo use your apps for the freebies and Join a library and then you can use Borrow Box. I use To Good to Go app for bakery items. On a deeper level this will make you look at consumerism. When you say you can not afford to buy/go for meal out, don't say I cant afford it, say that is not in my budget (change your mindset) Also really look at why you buy so many scratch cards..ask yourself is ONE to many, How does it make you feel NOT gettting them. Bingo is a big one also as it includes the social interactions also. Living on a budget is hard and it will make your life a lot smaller, but good for looking at EVERYTHING you consume. I have became very frugal and enjoying the challenge.
Well done both, keep up the great work. I love reading and books too, so have paid for a month of Kindle Unlimited, I hope to get my moneys worth and read at least six books xx
OMG I didn't know about the ice cream law ! There is no hope for me now, as I live by the seaside 🏖🙃😊
A great exercise in mindfulness.

Hi ladies this was very funny . Its great that yous are sticking to your budgets . You s must do another low spend and it will be easier for you s . Well done xx
I think this challenge is great. More of us could and should be doing this.
Week one and well done Carla and Tammy! Definitely an eye opener for sure - I have Amazon Prime, it’s so darn easy to buy things! Do I need these things, sometimes yes and sometimes no 🤦🏻♀️
How often do you eat out in a week?
define eating out? Grabbing a sandwich whilst out and about. Is that 'eating out"?
@@Stall69UK Probably not for me but as I’m retired I can make one at home. I guess spending £15 or more 🤷♀️
Never heard that before “ in debt up to me eyebrows “😂😂 we normally say up to me eyes in debt 👀
My debt is that lil bit higher.
Wow £50 on scratch cards and meals out stop those you have more money
Ermm… welcome to the video 🤣
????? 😂😂😂
Some people smoke , do drugs these ladies like eating out and buying scratch cards , everyone to their own they are trying to budget that's what this is all about .
@@juliehandley8963 Exactly ! 👏👏👍
Must admit it’s made me think about my ‘ bits & pieces’ spending - I’ve put a few random things in my Amazon basket to save for later or to remind me to look elsewhere for them!
And it’s only Clevedon. If you go to a supermarket nearby like Morrisons you can buy a box for under £2.50 for 3. Both the coop and Tesco are selling a single magnum pink lemonade (new) for £2.30 and £2.50. A box of 3 are / were on sale for £2.50.
If you want a cheap cruise in the Caribbean try margaritaville. They are getting a 2nd boat - unsure about the safety of it.
I have a lot of McDonald’s points over 30k. I do use them for treats like drinks, burgers, ice cream etc.
Tammy needs to go to library to get books and ebooks too.
❤❤
You’re both doing brilliantly. 👍🏽
You’re making me think about how much I spend mindlessly.
Great work ladies although beware next month buying all the Amazon or Tik Tok purchases and undoing all the good you’ve done! Are you going to carry it on next month?
Sell you a toilet roll🤣🤣🤣that made me belly laugh 😂
Great video, you've highlighted how 'comfort & convenience' can waste your money very quickly. I noticed you had cash in your envelopes, cash is a great way of keeping to a budget, it's tangible. With cards and phone apps it's far too easy overspend
👍👍
Good Morning ladies, def excuse the pun, food for thought xxx Lesley xxx
It’s amazing how little amounts add up. It’s like death by a thousand paper cuts. You wonder where the hell has all my money gone 🤣
Love this experiment. An extra $200 a month sounds nice, doesn’t it? You’ll have it by giving up the scratchers. My weakest area is eating out. I’ve saved a lot by cutting back on that.
This was really eye-opening. You are so right, money disappears like water if i dont keep a rein on it! Im like you ,Tammy, books are my thing. I get them 2nd hand from World Of Books but still...............!
Lovely to see Tammy in your vlogs good luck with the diets and no spend June ❤
The weight loss should be increased, though. In order to save money, surely they won't be buying rubbish food? So no crisps, biscuits, chocolates, cakes or Takeaways. Double result !!!
Minimum of £50 a week on scratch cards! Wow!!!
Yeah, I was surprised ( shocked ) at that and said out loud "she must be loaded " haha .However ,no one has the right to tell you how to spend your own money no matter what !
I’m not loaded, I’m just irresponsible.
£2500 a year saved if you buy no scratch cards….that’s a great cruise!
Plus £4800 from bingo…that’s over £7k….that would be 4 weeks in a balcony with money left over!
People seemed shocked about how Carla spends her money. I'm shocked that she has to work at 3 jobs to afford it.
Really enjoyed this vlog, I’m going to give a low spend month a go and see how I do. I have Kindle Unlimited and it’s great as I read so many books each month. Thank you girls it’s like having you as friends sitting in my living room having a laugh 😃xx
Looks great way of spending less😊😊😊
Carla love yr blue t/shirt where from please & cld you let me know the link what you mentioned to caroline ages ago the jazy leggings thanks xxx
Llama Leggings for the leggings x
I love this challenge
Did yr clock fall off the wall * landed on the sofa lol hows the diets going girls xxx
Some people have time on their hands. In Bristol, they have it on their shoulders.
Hi Carla has the go fund page been taken down as I can’t access .. Thank you x
The link was broken but I’ve just fixed it - thanks for letting me know !
This is going to appear a very random, silly question but has your wall clock fallen off the wall or is your sofa in the air 😂.......just my wall clocks a bit higher up the wall.....just all through the vlog i was kinda fixated on it 😂.....youve both done brilliant btw 😊 x
It’s Tammy’s clock. She put it on the back of the sofa when she moved in while she decided where to hang it. Two months later…
If you’ve been spending £50 per week on scratch tickets, that’s £200 per month. Think what that would add up to if you put that money in a savings account. £2400 per year. Substantial amount eh? Even more with the Bingo …phew, !
All the laughter between you two lovely ladies real,y cheered me up as I’m recovering from abdominal surgery 😢 Thank you, Carla 🤗🙏 Well done, ladies, you are doing great 🤗
Can you tell me what a 100 pound is = þo in Canadian money, please?😊😊
About $175 Canadian.
Love Tammy's accent!!!
Me and hubby are on a budget of £50 a month each! It definitely makes you think twice about spending!
Well done you two, it’s not easy, but just keep thinking about all that money you’re going to save❤️🇬🇧
Ah! Now I know the icecream law .. I live by the sea 😂I’m interested by your going out etc … my going out is once a week to knitting and always catch the bus as it’s free and that’s £2 for our tea and cakes … I count doing my messages ( shopping) as going out because you see so many people you now in the butchers , fishmongers shops etc and if I meet a friend and we go for a coffee and a sticky ..it’s never more than £10 for 2 of us .. if I have a lunch out I get fish lunch from the chippy which is £5 … ..I always feel as though I’ve overspent and then don’t go and do messages the following week … I think you two are doing amazingly with so many temptations put in your way ..Go Girls ! 💖
Yes, and Tammy seems very encouraging and a good influence.
Wealthy people don’t spend money, they invest ,you doing great xx
So funny yr be sharing soap powder capsule you cnt aford to have one each ha ha ha xxx
😂I hate it when anyone comes out with me cause I buy for em most time mind I do have a friend where we take it in turns who's paying 😊
Kindle Unlimited is brilliant. Use it for magazines too. Never buy books now unless they're for crafting or recipes.
I need to get my husband on this .......on his way home from work he will call into the supermarket for one or two items, but £15-20 later ......and this is every time! It is so easily done and is a habit. Great video xxx
When I want a low spend month I avoid homebargains B&M and any discount type shops because I always buy more things than I really need 🙏 those shops, are lethal
What it must be like for you to be so good friends you are very lucky
Agree, a lot of my friends I have decided to drop because they are not that nice one friend only calls me if she needs something that's OK but when you find out she has invited everyone apart from me to her 60th party really stinks I had a mind to ask her for my present back lol 🙏
Really gone off you Carla. Bye bye .
Bye!!
How very rude 😡
I mean the comment from Dorothy is very rude, just so there is no confusion 😮
❤❤
Great work ladies although beware next month buying all the Amazon or Tik Tok purchases and undoing all the good you’ve done! Are you going to carry it on next month?
