This probably isn't even close to the hardest mod ever, but I ended up replaying the beginning section of the game more times than I care to admit just to get enough EXP to get past the Banshees and Imp boss without having to wait for a bunch of daily letters, so it definitely makes the game more hellish in its own way.
@@silviaeaber I'm still a ways from finishing this and there's definitely some hard mods I haven't tried yet, but if I had to choose from all the ones I finished so far, Hard Mode Deluxe takes the cake by a long shot. Tons of enemies always outspeed you regardless of stats and usually have wide attacks or status moves that almost never fail, the spite status makes Miis trip each other 100% of the time so any enemy that spams it pretty much prevents you from ever fighting back, and the mod has a very annoying tendency to spam enemies with 999 damage attacks, including Terror Fiends with the defenses of Very Rare Snurps and two attacks per turn. Maybe I was just extremely unlucky or it was because I tried to beat it without Sprinkles or Safe Spot, but I had more losses playing that mod than in any other run I've done so far, so it's an easy choice for me.
I can't really say which run is harder until I fully finish this, but I will say that the early game in this was a lot more miserable just because you can barely do anything. Thankfully the later parts of this are a bit more playable since there are actual options to work with, but I'm still dreading potentially getting stuck with a bunch of Level 1s for the final boss.
@@zerousage8744 Exactly! The story part of the game is so painful and boring and also, I'm doing the no sprinkles, safe spot and base gear challenege you've done, I'm currently stuck at the "Teammate" Armor boss fight and gosh, I have to grind alot to beat it.
Thief is because the trap skill makes all of the bosses aside from maybe the Imp "Cheery Granny" a lot easier and less grindy, which is a big deal in this since it saves tickets for later. The Warriors are just there because there isn't really any better options. Pop Star might also be useful since it has more HP for the cave, but I just settled on Warriors since I want a bunch of them for the final boss anyway.

What made you choose a thief and three warriors?
