Can You Beat Miitopia Without Buying New Gear?

- Hello Luiginoids, this is LuigiXRules, doing another challenge video! I’m sorry this one took so long to come out; for some reason, my motivation for this challenge was just on and off for the last year or so. But it’s finally here, and I hope you enjoy it!
I have a lot of history with Miitopia. I’ve played the 3DS version several times, and am currently trying to 100% the Switch version. However, every time I play it, I end up playing it the same way, so today, we’re going to change that. In this video, we are going to see if you can beat Miitopia with one of its core mechanics stripped away: buying new weapons/armor (together referred to as “gear”). Is the challenge possible? Watch the video to find out.

Small fun fact for the laid-back personality: For the Slack Off and Get Serious abilities. The slack off uses less mp and get serious uses more mp to deal more damage which.. Make sence.
I'm not sure the get serious ability uses more MP. I had a laid-back playthrough and my Jumping Cut or however is called still costed 5 MP.
Actually, get serious uses the same amount of mp and deals more damage!
The Slack Off ability also deals less damage, which does make sense. But my Mii is laid-back, and slacks off a *lot.* It gets annoying fast.
Also when Laid back miis Avenge other miis they don't get really angry or start crying so of you have a laid back cat or tank that is hyper most regular enemies can say goodbye to there lives
@@eeveestars3668 also for a main character that is using a job more suited for the mc if they're laid back they can deal extra damage and still have full control of their character

Fun Fact : The cat was the only class in 3DS Miitopia that could reach 15k damage in one turn! This is due to Sharpen Claws + Praise + Show Off + Feline Frenzy against 8 Apple Jellies! This could probably be achieved without the praise.
I think you really undersold the princess's support potential, if her passive dodge triggers on a full party attack her AND the person "helping" her dodge avoid it. Also the dance skill (at least on the DS version) if it hits, always succeeds on subsequent rounds, so it's really strong as the players mii since you can infinitely stunlock whole groups of enemies.
my main mii was a princess for a bit and the dance skill bit is true! if they started dancing the round before they *will* dance again (i'm on switch)
Personally how I handle being targeted is by shielding one member and putting the other in the safe spot. Sure it puts me down a member, but it's super useful at least in my opinion

I do that on the darker lord fight, I am stingy on sprinkles when fighting the hands
and of course quick safe spot usage is the only way to dodge the juvenile snurps

you have such a huge brain, ive played miitopia 5 times and still had no idea about all the effects of different personalities
I knew them all from first playing the switch port. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a super fan
Fun fact: Tank is the class that has the lowest stat at level 50, with 0 speed
And that’s one of many reasons the Tank is awful
Seriously, is there ANYTHING the tank has that isn’t done better with another party member?

@warioplush that one move with the multiple cannon shots becomes more powerful when you play without any party members, because you can't cause a quarrel
Its great seeing people try miitopia challenges saying that Miitopia is also one of my favorite games I would also try doing miitopia challenges if I had the ability to record them (although I am doing a cat only run right now which is "fun") your living my dream man
I remember I played the demo 6 times to figure out the best early role (as no surprise, Chef was the winner)
Since cat isn't able in greenhorn I actually only use chef's for it you see there's a problem that you won't find in the demo spicy dish makes the mii's fight each other and I mean fight because of this chef was actually a pain in my but
I'm thinking I'm going to make myself a ter list for jobs I'm thinking putting it in to 5 parts

For the jobs that are later in the game like the cat I would put them under an NA ter
@@JJSSBU I think that for all of Greenhorn Waror will turn out to be the best if you use sprinkles wisely I don't for see it being to much of a problem
Glad I’m not the only one who hates seeing gray spots without the gold flags on them. I swear I refuse to move on until all the flags are there, and I don’t know why.
I do this too. But strangely enough, ONLY with miitopia. I just don’t care with other games.

Fun fact about the lasers( 33:08 ) :
If you run out of shield sprinkles, you can avoid it by putting your mii in the safe spot, only 1 mii will take damage so the safe spot is really useful in these bosses.

kind has several drawbacks, but an ai kind thief will steal and share bananas and sweets a lot, giving parties surprising longevity when paired with cleric
this is useful in tower of dread where longevity is key; especially with mp
therefore not useless

is it just me or does everyone either make the horse evil looking, or derpy looking...nothing normal, nothing angelic.
In my game I make my horse realistic
I mostly see Pokemon-based horses. Maybe it's just me, though

I made mine look like Roscoe from Animal Crossing... and then gave him demon horns for the hell of it.
A good thing to do is when a enemy aims at a Mii to put a shield on one and put the other one in the save spot to use less shields

Tip for laid back miis: they can actually DENY status effects, just like cool miis!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that fully clears every stage before continuing, I got like 50 hours off of Miitopia cause I just had to complete the whole stage.
Basically on the tomato bros, the protagonist and the 3rd mii will love the tomato juice, where as the 2nd and 4th mii will hate it, I’m pretty sure that’s what happens every time when I played

@@EvTheFlickFan nah he didn't, the damage numbers were too low on his attacks, and he took a lot of damage
(Im using the Griffin as a example) normally the Griffin does 16 damage but he took 23 damage
He had 360 sprinkles during the dragon. I only had 140.
@@Robo-pumphe was probably grinding for food as food stats are the only way for him to increase his stats and therefore he freed more faces
I haven’t watched the whole video yet, but I felt like saying this. I managed to beat this game without weapons, armor, the horse or grub boosts. I felt like that’s more of a challenge then just no gear. But not having gear does make the game harder. I think buying gear or using amiibo costumes is fine as long as you only use it for appearance. As long as you don’t effect the stats, you can still buy them.
Buy wasting resources just for appereancies is bad, when money can be spent on MP Candys or HP Bananas
@@JJSSBU I said you can still buy them. And there is nothing wrong with it. Plus, bananas and mp candies are not super useful. And you get so many of them throughout the game.

There is a post game! It includes 2 new worlds, one is tropical themed and one is cyberpunk themed. You should try it sometime in the channel
They aren't many entertaining miitopia videos on RUclips but this one is definitely one of them!

This video is really well made! I remember playing this game on my 3DS and seeing this bought so many memories. I remember always having to power it through in the late game because I never had enough money for the rest of the armor. You deserve more subs!
About the Tomato Bros, Miis 1 and 3 will always hate it, while 2 and 4 will always heal from it

Yeah, I know. I've actually filled out the bestiary; I just need to grind all of the jobs to level 50.
@@luigixrules tried that on ds, I think I got 5 jobs to lv 50. I didn't get a flower the entire time I played on ds so it would take AGES to grind the rest of the jobs + flower to lv 50 so I just didn't do it
This video made me want to use my sprinkles diligently.

The personalities fit the miis look and classes
what i learned from this is that sharp claws + horse whispering = win
Cool personality will literally make you say "That's so cool!"
I wish more enemies had more dynamics like these 2: proceeds to complain about the spirit sword
With the tomato bros, your 1st and 3rd party members are healed by the juice attack, your 2nd and 4th are damaged.

Wow this is pretty cool! I'm actually doing a challenge like this right now, no horse either though, and I tried also never using sprinkles but Keep Bully Armor at the Dark Lord's Castle wrecked me so bad I had to turn them on. With sprinkles I've beaten the boss of New Lumos's 8th district also and it gets nearly impossible as the enemy stats greatly increase.

Gonna try this challenge but without sprinkles and horse strictly. Since I can grind and stuff I wouldn’t imagine I can’t beat all the bosses without them
@@StarIsChillin Good luck. I turned sprinkles on because of how, yeah, I could just grind to a much higher level, but I didn't find that interesting

honestly someone needs to beat this game, without buying anything, getting anything, or eating food for Stat increasing
In my ds playthrough I was laid back, and I RARELY EVER hid behind allies or conserved mp. And was almost always unusually focused
It’s worth noting that the Darkest Lord’s coin minions are limited. He can only summon 6 of them, and after they’re all gone, he can’t summon any more of them.
I’m surprised that they decided to do this because I’m pretty sure he never summons any extra coins in the second phase.

Tip: if you have a cat role in your party use it on the person with cat role they deal more damage to enemies

My strategy for the darkest lord fight Is to have everyone at least level 20 at their current jobs and not using a single sprinkle until the second phase of the main body

I’m curious about those shield sprinkles. What happens if you were so strong to kill the robot before it locks on it’s targets. Would you have to wait until another enemy locks onto you like the right hand of the darkest lord?

stumbled across this video when i opened youtube and so glad i watched it. it made me want to play miitopia again and watching this video made me very happy and i'm happy that people are exploring the game even deeper

In the switch port they toned down the stats off all monsters. Making it go from an extremely hard Game to a game that rivals Kirby in it's easieness.
Yeah I hate it, I never played the original game but I always wished the game was harder. At least the enemies go from doing like 2 damage to 25 after Karkaton

i was trying to do what i call the lazy challenge where i make all the miis the same and the party the same class and personality so when i got to swap the class of my main mii i don't get him any gear im still not finished the challenge i started but the class i used was a mage and the personality was laid back. this challenge made most of the quiz guy's questions hard mostly do to every mii being the same so yeah
okay, now do it with only you on the team. no teammates. Solo run.
Also for the robot I just learned this when ur targeted you can use the safe spot to survive to blast and it helps too

are we forgetting that stubborn and laidback personalities also have a chance to ignore status effects like cool
Actually for the slime monster boss, some jobs can't actually defeat it due to their low HP stat. (Only jobs that aren't available at the start of greenhorne obviously)

I always thought it was impossible but guess not
The Switch Port is much easier as they toned down the stats of all enemys. Along with the horse and easy Friendship building makes this port much easier.
You actually can! I did that when I played it for the first time.
Im playing IT right now without using Magic. I only use Knights and Cats.
I know you mentioned that the cat's horse ehispering does 350 damage when you scratch first, but i used a cat (as ai) and when you hyper and scratch combo it dows similar if not more damage because the boost seems to stack
I know that it's not remotely meta to do this, but when I'm picking personality and jobs I do what fits the charecter, which unfortunately means half my miis end up being kind, it's very frustrating
Kind increases the odds of helping out if you also build relationships on top of it
