The thing you eat wrapped in leaves is called Miang kham. Miang means wrapping food in leaves. Kham means eating bite-sized food. Miang kham is a national snack or appetizer and has been selected as an intangible cultural asset. Miang kham is an ancient food and a royal food. It originated from the Lanna Kingdom, which is northern Thailand. The capital of this ancient kingdom is Chiang Mai. Miang kham is a food that consists of many herbs and spices, so it has medicinal properties. For example, it nourishes joints, tendons, relieves colds, helps blood circulation, relieves flatulence, relieves gas, relieves coughs, removes phlegm and strengthens bones.😊
@@BingoandBinew Many ancient Thai dishes use many herbs and spices, which have medicinal properties. For example, Pad Krapao was originally a type of food that ancient Thai doctors would order for their patients to eat. Because it helps prevent colds and basil leaves help induce sweating.😊

@@clareward1623 Hi! Welcome to our channel and thank you for subscribing! 🤗 We’ve been travelling full time for about 2.5 years now, and I will say we got sick more so in the beginning. I can’t remember the last time we’ve been sick. Our bellies just needed to get used to the local foods and now we have no issues at all. Thailand is a great place to start as you can ease your way into it! My (Linda’s) mom visited us in Bangkok recently and didn’t get sick, either. We made sure to eat from highly rated and busy places filled with locals. 😊
