An incredibly beautiful and touching tribute to Dr. Marie Curie. This documentary makes it plain how some women are willing and capable of overturning male-defined areas of society and culture. Dr. Curie was not only in love with science, she truly enjoyed research and discovery along the way. Also evident is the deep feelings she held for being in love with her husband while working alongside in the common interest. She is portrayed as being quite happy as a mother, as well. The documentary here provides an artistic rendering of women's history--from the actors to the costuming to the music and sets. Brilliant in its message and delivery!
I think Marie Curie was not a housekeeper, she worked as tutor for children to support her sister in Paris. The film provides some wrong information, please review.
She probably wasn't....but why would it be a problem if she was................I love the fact that she was amazing in science and had a family...........She is my all time inspiration......being good at science doesn't have to mean to be a loner forever
She definitely wasn't a house-keeper. it would be historically inaccurate to presume that, given that she was born to noble, albeit impoverished family (such was the fate of many old Polish families in occupied XIXth century Poland). Even mother of Fryderyk Chopin was a governess in her youth. Maria was keeping diary throughout her youth in Poland, apparently she almost gave up her studies to get married.
Before commenting : study first . I am surprised how those who does not know much and did not achieve much , dare to comment without most likely even not knowing where is her beautiful country Poland located . Hmmmm… no words
I was very impressed by this movie, about this special person and strong personality! At thé beginning, it gives a very good image of Poland in that time: Under thé Russian occupation, it was Forbidden to speak Polish, but thé intellectual families did secretaly! Marie worked very hard to send thé money to her sister, Bronia, to support her studies on thé Sorbonne. In that time it was not possible for girls to go to university : only 200 women on 12.000 students. Becquerel had a very important role in thé life of Pierre and Marie. Marie was thé first woman in history who became doctor in physics. It was a shock for her that the Academy congrulated Pierre Curie and not his wife ,who did thé invention of Radium! After thé death of her huisband, she has to make a choice between her children and thé laboratory. Under Mitterand, she is buried in Paris- Panthenon. A few years ago, I visited her birthhouse in Warsaw.
There is not a sacrifice in doing the things one loves. Marie S Curie loved her work and it brings happiness even under society criticism. She makes all females proud for her existence and challenges, she overcomes.
this is reall an admiring work a great effort to collect, arrange and publish some very rare stuff about marrie currie .she is my ideal scientist and one can understand my feeling who also idealize madam currie in his/ her scientific carrier. thanka a lot for uploading such an encouraging video.
You suppose to change the titel, its misleading people, her second name was Sklodowska-Curie,try to be more precisly if you are poblushing a material about important people, cande regards
Who's Marie Curie? Is that Maria Skłodowska-Curie? Why are the French changing her first name, and removing the maiden part of surname? Come on - you're not changing the names of African "doctors and engineers" that move to France...
I believe that at some point she was even described as "Madamme Pierre Curie". As the very first woman to receive a doctorate in physics, its no surprise she had to struggle for recognition. In my opinion putting Marie Curie in the title was a good thing, because more people will recognise it, and learn that she was in fact Polish. I am bothered though by obtrusive innuendos about "true" ethnic origin of Marie.

We polish women are very proud of her. Her father was often complaining on, when finally women will be able to study - she grow up with this mindset.
Every time I feel down and under for the past 18 years, including today, I come to her for inspiration. She heals me and I am unbroken again.
Try playing with radium
She is dead dude how can dead people help you? 🤣

She was not a housekeeper. She used to teach children in that house. I have read this in a book named 'Ours Madam Curie' . From India🙏

Pani Maria nazywała się SKŁODOWSKA - CURIE była Polką. Pierwiastek POLON nazwała na cześć swojej ojczyzny Polski 🇵🇱

I agree.
She's more famous with the name Marie Curie or just Madame Curie.
So no need to add Sklowdowska.
@@frondescenceful her maiden name is just as important and it should be known.
A lot to learn from .
So, why you don't respect that great woman? She always used her real name: Maria Sklodowska-Curie.
