The Rolex Yacht-Master is encased in pink gold on a black rubber strap, with a bezel featuring 1 diamond, 38 sapphires, 8 sapphirites of varying colors. The watch measures 40mm in diameter, 11.5mm in thickness, and 48mm from lug-to-lug.

A masterpiece of understatement. This one really flies under the radar. Particularly useful for timing things in the kitchen - just 10 gemstones for a hard boiled egg.
If you want understatement go find your grandfather's pocket watch and beat it.

Without 8 years of WISdom under my belt, I would never have liked this watch in a million years, But now, I'm watching the whole video, mesmerised by this beauty. I guess you just have to be "in the know".
This has to have been designed ironically.
Also, while I recognize that it is a feat of gem setting to make that bezel, most of the stones are sapphires, so I'm not really impressed that the colors match because you make the sapphires any color you want.
My favorite Rolex made to date, not even joking.

Thats more than 70k dollars over the standard rose gold version which is about 25k

Nah. I saw a video where a guy cut open an Oysterflex "bracelet." The so-called "metal blade" inside the rubber is thinner than a razor blade and only stretches from immediately behind the spring bars for about 10-12 mm. The whole rest of the Oysterflex bracelet is pure rubber. The "metal" portion constitutes about 15% of the length of each side of that strap. Pretty f-ing deceptive to tell people that it is a metal bracelet when in fact, it is no such thing.
The prior owner should have bedazzled the bracelet with glitter or some other gaudy shit, because the Yacht Master really isn't nice enough right out of the box.... My God....

Can't believe people still spend this kind of money just to say they 'own a rolex'; especially when there is zero utility for owning one, and a million attractive options available for 50 bucks or less. This is money down the tube, even if you are a billionaire.
Luckily, this is one of the more expensive Rolex models and quite an outlier in design with the gemstone bezel. We typically see black dial/black bezel Submariners or GMT Master IIs alongside Datejust models being the more popular and more affordable.
