great video! i really love that you've posted your images instead of straight talking about the lens. I'm seriously considering getting one. thanks for this!
Glad you liked the video ☺️ thank you for the lovely comment! ☺️
Great video for an extremely awesome lens!!! I love it!! Also your photos are Wow!!!! Love your work!
thank you, this means a lot! Definitely a boost in self-confidence to do more reviews!
The psychology part is really funny. I heard from some photographers, that they always put a battery grip on their Sony camera to make it look bigger, even if they do not need the battery grip at all for that shoot.
And I hope the RF system stays for much longer than ten years.
Haha I hope also 😁
@@TomislavMoze Yeah that 10 year figure sounds like it was pulled out of yer arse! ha ha Jeesh how long has the EF mount been around, since 1987 so 35 years. Canon did it right so they have a lot of room with it, where sony has kinda stuck themselves a bit with the e-mount flange size for stabilization etc. So what's wrong with Fuji? ;)
@@whiterock1865 Haha Well I said at least. But you are right it’s gonna stay her long time. Technology changes extremely fast so who knows. Fuji cameras have nice specs but at the end if you exclude the medium sensor models they are just toys 😂
thanks for your review, great sample images here
Thank you ☺️ and thank you for watching ☺️
I like the idea of it being heavy enough for taking away handshake
yeah it is you win some you lose some situation... great while you filming bad when you are carrying it around 😅
Enjoyed your wisdom on this lens. I will be buying it at some point for my new R3. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Brooo! Welcome BACK! 🥲❤
Thanks broo 😁😁
Sample photos are 🔥🔥🔥
thnx man!!!
Haha stoked to see your work for Staropramen 🤩
Thank you for watching...it was always nice to work for Staropramen, they always had incredible cast to work with and a decent production so you could do a lot!
Very helpful 👌
thank you for watching! Glad I could help!
Thx so much🙌
Thank you ☺️
Zdravo, Thanks for this video your insights were valuable.
Hej, thank you 🙏
I have this lens and it's the most used lens in all my 3 rf lenses.
Yeah, I always go straight for it :D For what type of stuff do you use it?
@@TomislavMoze I mostly do portraits and events.
Great video! I was definitely considering and still an. I have the version 1 EF and love it!
Hey Curt, thank you for watching! If I understood correctly you have the 24-70 mk1 EF?
That is a solid lens, but man the 28-70 is optically different universe :D :D
@@TomislavMoze Yea the mark 1. It’s that good?! I might have to pull the trigger! Thanks for the recommendation 👊🏾
It is incredible, but take in a consideration that I live from photo and video production and for me it was a easy decision, if you are just building your business there could be a better investments for you :D
@@TomislavMoze I live from it as well. Definitely a hefty price tag but the investment is worth it for the long term. Plus I’d love to ditch the adapter and go straight RF in most cases. Thanks a lot!
💯 agree very nice video
Thank you 🙏
Ladies and gentleman 📢 He's back 🤘
I hope this time I'm here to stay 😂
Finally! ☺️🙌
🥰
Haha - no love for Fuji here! As for the 28-70, I absolutely love mine and mostly leave my other RF L primes and zooms behind in its favor. The only minor gripe I have is the CA and fringing on the edges at 2.0 against high contrast backgrounds. This is fair and expected, and I only list it because it is the only imperfection that I can see when using it over my other RF L primes and zooms. Otherwise this lens is what moved me to RF mount after 20 years on EF mount, and will probably keep me there until something surpasses it. Also like you, I still keep a few special EF lenses around, which for me are the 135/2 and 11-24.
hahah only love for Fuji mountain 🤣 Regarding the CA and fringing I agree few times it was strong, but still better than the old L glass I use, I don't have the RF versions of 50 1.2 and 85 1.2 to compare but I presume they are superior regarding image quality. Thanks for watching!
@@TomislavMoze Yes, the 85mm is practically flawless with no visible CA etc compared to the 28-70. I'm always going back and forth between primes and this lens. While tests have show it isn't as sharp as the sharpest RF primes, its sharper than pretty much all EF, so most peeps don't take the same photo at the same time with different lenses and then compare them side by side...the 28-70 is phenomenal and so much more convenient...and that convenience often gets the shot that you wouldn't be able to with the prime.
Muchas gracias

One video a week, LESSSS GOOOO! 😊😊
that's the plan :😃😁
Thx so much
Glad i could help ☺️
Nice video :)
Hvala ☺️🙏
Please some behind the scene on the shoot!
I will try, does are always hard to do since Im more focused on the client and the project 😅
Hey man, thanks for the review. Did you ever use it with a CPol filter for portrait? Wenn, 95mm CPol filters are pretty expensive. I don't have one yet (as well as I don't have the lens yet). I'm struggling between the RF 85 1.2 (the normal one) and the 28-70 2.0
Hey, thank you for watching! I only used it with variable ND filter for video. If my personal interest where classical portraits I would probably go for the 85, that is till one of the best focal lengths for portraits for sure and paired with 1.2 you cant miss. 28-70 is I would say more for versatile photography.
@Tomislave Moze what kind of monitor, monitor bracket and cable did you use at the time 6:32? Your simplicity is good.
Hey there, I've used a small rig cage, with a small rig ad on to hold the monitor. Monitor is athomos ninja V and their cable, if you really want to know I can look up exact names.
Thanks for watching!
I just got this lens. Wow, it's a brick (bulky and heavy) but I like it.
I might be lucky enough to get one tomorrow! @8:00 is so true too 😆 Kinda thinking it'll make people consider me, at the very least, serious about what I like to do.
Nice! You will definitely enjoy it 🥰
@@TomislavMoze I got it and OMG ITS SO BIG!!! LOLOL
@@HoldMyData hahaha 😁😁😁
Zivio Tomislave, jako lijepo. Sad i na hrvatskom😂
First thing first great pictures and thanks for sharing. But logging that lens for 6-8 hrs of wedding events hmmm not for me. What's the point of having a small form factor of a mirrorless body?
Hey there thank you! Regarding mirrorless size, I think canon got the. small size factor right. It is smaller but not to small, while sonny went for the smallest possible. Now some lenses are smaller with the mirrorless system, usually the telephoto ones. Regarding the 28-70 in my case when I use it I dont need a second camera I usually worked with two cameras on the wedding one with 24mm1.4 the other 50mm 1.2 plus one or two lenses in a small pouch on my waist usually 85 and 35mm. With this lens I can do everything with. one, camera maybe two lenses this one and 16mm /2.8 if the event needs a lot of wide shots. But I also think this mainly depends on your shooting style. I'm also a big guy so for me it is less of a hustle.
How do you think this will hold up without lens IS but IBIS only? Basically for family videos and photos, both indoor and outdoor. I’m currently using an EF 24-70 F4 version and looking to get more light. I tried the RF 2.8 version and while it was better in a lot of ways than my EF it was hard to justify the cost and hoping the 28-70 F2 would be a much bigger difference. I also use the 50mm F1.8 and that seems to give me enough light in darker home environments so I’m assuming the 28-70 will be drastically better than that. Thanks in advance for any opinions.
It is hard to be objective regarding stabilisation since every person has a different style of shooting photos and video and that dictates the need for better stabilisation. For me it works I do have RF 24-105 4L is and compare to it especially zoomed you can feel the difference regarding shake compensation but still I chose to use always 28-70 2.0 although it doesn't have the IS it has 2 stopes more of light so at the end it ends up close since you can have faster shutter with it.
Hope it was helpfull and thanx for watching !
You still get the full 8stops of stabilization like you would in the 24-70 rf the technology behind it along with rf allows it to achieve those results even though it doesn’t have is. As long as you got the R5/R6 the ibis gives you 8 stops rather than 5 stops and this is said my canon themselves. This was one of the reasons I’m going for this lens
@@THENSHOTYA yeah I saw that on Canon official channels but I don't know, it still feels like I'm getting better results with ibis+in lens is.
@@TomislavMoze there’s a couple of videos showing the lens in action and it’s very smooth and imagine if you use digital is
@@THENSHOTYA well I've been using it for more than a year so no need to imagine things regarding that 😅 if I need a more stable footage and the light conditions allow it I always go for the 24-105 4L cause it offered better results regarding that 😁
Recently purchased the 50 1.2 RF version and while it's incredible, I'm wondering if the 28-70 would suffice for my portrait needs and have the zoom versatility. I wish it wasn't like $500 to rent one for a week so I could test it.
Hey thank you for watching!
I do own the EF 50 and now rarely use it. Definitely prefer the 28-70 to it for portraits.
@@TomislavMoze Well now I have another big purchase to think about lol
@@DCAMM720 😂
nice video! I'm thinking of buying this lens for the Canon R5C to do a combo of video and photo. How have you found it with video?
Hey there!
When I shoot video it is my first choice, I rarely need wide angle lens so 28-70 is perfect range for most video situations at least for me, the problem for R5c could be the lack of IS, i did miss it a bit when shooting raw on C70. I like the size of it for the video, camera being heavier with it makes all the movement much more pleasant.
thank you for watching! Hope it was helpfull
@@TomislavMoze Cool thanks for the info! I just bought it this afternoon :-) I'll be using it with gimbal with the R5C so it should work really well. Can't wait to get my hands on it
@@TomislavMoze Nice to hear. I'm a student and I could afford the lens, but not two RF lenses (right now). I do filming and photography, but my focus is filming as of right now. I was thinking of getting this, as I mostly film pretty improvised when travelling in urban environments. So changing lenses and carrying many of them is annoying. I thought maybe this lens is good for me, as I can save me money if i use it as my only lens instead of primes, save me time and weight on run and gun shoots in cities. Also I film at night often...
Im using the R6, which I love.
Do you think it's a good idea? I'm not sure if 28mm is wide enough for filming 🤔 But considering many great directors used similar focal lengths when you convert it from Super 35 to Full frame equivalent?
It's probably overkill for a student...
What do you think? Would love to hear from you, saw you even have a BA in Cinematography!
@ Hey, first thnx for watching!
I use the 28-70 mostly when I film on r6 or r5 I think for normal cinematography it is really unusual to go wider than 28mm. basically wider lenses became popular mostly cause of youtube. I guess it depends mostly on what you like. Option is to take also rf 16mm 2.8 that is not that expensive and u can use it for extra wide shots and with 4k cropped mode as a 24mm lens. A friend of mine is doing great content with the r6 and 24-105 so maybe think about that one.
Although anybody that tries 28-70 2.0 for video instantly fells in love into the lens :D
@@TomislavMoze Thanks a lot!! So helpful!
看来在哪里都是一样,客户都认为镜头越大越好!! :)
😁
I have a solid RF line up with R5. Often I’ll just take my Fuji XT4 and a 23 or 33.
Glad to hear that, I was joking about fuji , they are solid cameras, but I just personally never liked shooting with them, I just don't like the whole retro ergonomics...hope you liked the video?
@@TomislavMoze it was a great video!
@@robmcd thank you ☺️
How would this lerns go on a canon r7?
well I think it will be optically great, the only problem is that it really big and R7 is rather small body so ergonomically they will not be a perfect match.
Hi Tomislav, I was just wording if you can help me with color grading for video, if you do that types of works please let me know and we can agree on the price
Hey there I’m sorry I don’t do that, there are so many channels with tutorials I don’t see a point. ☺️
@@TomislavMoze Thanks for your response
Is it perfect to shoot video with only this single lense? I will shoot some video and pictures at gym and yoga studio. Other documentary videographer suggest 24mm + 50mm prime lenses. I hesitate now.
I use it in 90% of my work. Primes are great but for more dynamic situations 28-70 is much better. ☺️
@@TomislavMoze thanks for your reply
Actually, he doesn’t have a lot of equipment! Trust me bro!
hahahah :D :D
Having lots of equipment or even best equipment doesn't make you good for anything
Except Fuji, lol, racist :)
