When I want to focus my attack on an enemy carrier, I know that any and all carrier’s AA defenses will only allow me 1 attack run. It’s useless to attack a carrier, multiple times with a single full squadron of dive bombers or torpedo planes. What I do is send a full squadron up and use up all planes ordinances, with the exception of saving the remaining last planes for that 1 attack run. The idea is, by using up most of my squadron, I can still attack a carrier or any AA ship, while minimizing my plane casualties. This helps in keeping up with carrier plane restorations, while decreasing the chances of being de-planed and still allowing me to stay in the fight that much longer. It’s no fool proof plan, but it is something to look into.
I've really only gottenol into carriers i have the kaga researching now but I'm starting to like the Soviet carriers and the camaraderie perk I'm thinking it will give the kaga a run based on this info.

On June 4th 1942 during the Battle of Midway, SBD Dauntlesses roared out of the sunlight and dive bombed the Kaga. Her ammunition and Fuel exploded within Kaga and immediately sank.
Just a minor correction Kaga was not originally chosen to be converted the two chose ships that were planned to be converted was the battlecruisers amagi and her sister ship Akagi but an earthquake destroyed amagis hull and so they chose to convert Kaga( Kaga was originally going to be scrapped before she was chosen
This seems like an awesome ship. One of the things i always complained about Shokaku was hasving only 2 planes on a torpedo atack run. Kaga will be so much fun to play with and she is basically free!!!

i wish the aim on other CV bombers were less RNG and more about skill, you can get the reticle right on target and the bombs land either side of the ship!, the kaga's low bombers solve that problem but i wish other planes could get lower!
Just hitting a destroyer who is paying the slightest bit of attention (or sometimes is even just parked) with a bomb is something of a minor miracle at lower tier so this might be nice.
As a carrier main I own every carrier in the game (even Pobeda) I would say efficiency has to go to Parsie hands down due to the fast toros great for engaging dds. Citadel on battleships as well. Kaga has good raw alpha in both tbs and dbs. Pobeda I think is definitely not as good as parsi or kaga but stronger than implacable and lex
Soon I'll get this ship. I need to get promotion orders to increase the research rate with a commander but even if I don't it is already 9/12 reasearch. Glad I checked it out before I get her

I’m surprised that they went with Kaga as a Legendary/Bureau CV given that she’s much older than the other ships in the Bureau that was initially converted from a battlecruiser hull into a carrier during the 1920’s, then modernized in the 1930’s. I would’ve thought the Taiho would have been the CV of choice for the bureau given that she was completed during the 1940’s and was the only Japanese carrier, if I’m correct, with an armored flight deck and at 855 feet, she was the second largest carrier behind the CV Shinano (871 ft) another CV, I thought they would’ve considered as well. But that’s just me. This is another very well-presented video that provides a compelling but fair argument regarding the gameplay, what it’s capable of (and it’s appeal) in the hands of anyone whose willing to learn how to play it correctly.
I don’t think legends would release Taiho because all the new ships and tech tree lines that come to legends are originally on wows pc before coming to legends and taiho is not on pc
@@DerkaGames Frankly I had to look up the Hakruyu as I never heard of that ship but after reviewing it’s details, I think that would be the better Legendary Tier choice between the two of them. Maybe Taiho will be a campaign ship of choice between two different ship classes, kinda but not exactly like what they did with Friesland and the Laoyang, as not everyone is a CV enthusiast so maybe a choice between Taiho or a CC/DD/BB maybe? We’ll find out for certain…eventually.
Shinano also had an armored deck at the same thickness of 75mm,while the last series of carriers of the unryu class was largely similar to shokaku class and didn't have an armored deck
havent got kaga and saipan but looking at videos online, kaga make shoukaku obselete while saipan didnt make lexington obselete shoukaku main problem is low hp plane and weakass dive bomber kaga still have low hp plane but more stock and recovery time, its sweet. kaga dive bomber maybe weak ass but then again the forward motion is so good shoukaku cant do shit

I think it’s probably going to end up as the second or 3rd best cv. I don’t see this dethroning parseval because it is still the best cv at removing the enemy dd on its own which I think is more valuable than just spotting a dd. Parseval torps are still the hardest to dodge because they have the best speed and the fastest narrowing cone. Kaga has 4 torps which is nice but they are relatively slow, drop in a staggered pattern which leaves wide gaps and they have the notoriously slow narrowing cone all the ijn carriers seem to have with the torpedo bombers. The kaga might be better at spamming damage than Lexington since it seems to never run out of planes but I cannot tell since I don’t have it and most of the people I see playing it are not cv players.
Yeah the fast torps are really hard to dodge for DDs. 5 knots faster then Kaga, so Kaga torps arent slow by any means, nothing like Implacable. But it does help
Carriers are the main reason why I won't purchase anything else in WoWL. They add nothing positive for me as a ship, and are just a pest to deal with. Never rage quit prior. Now it's regular.
Getting focused and dumpstered by a carrier is frustrating. What is really fun is to beat them at their own game lol. You should run an AA Friesland, Cleveland, Mino or something for a couple games to really ruin a CV players day 😆
@@DerkaGames allegedly AA power is taken into account when matchmaking. A lot of people say they are less likely to see a carrier when speccing into AA.

As a Carrier player I’m very excited for the Kaga, as when carriers first came out I loved the Shokaku but with her only have 2 plane attack runs I barley play as her anymore and all I see in carrier battles are Germans and Americans. I hope with Kaga we can see more Japanese carriers back in the fight.
It is true kaga has a great offense, but your planes are like paper. But in the pc version you have about 100 planes in reserve, so if a full squadron goes down it’s not a huge deal, so it makes an ideal first premium carrier for its ease of play

I mean kind of, I looked at it tonight. Her special perk buffs detection for both torpedo and dive bombers...and I guess her base trait is good as Kaga is a very slow carrier. If she's better it's not by a whole lot tho
In the pc version, in my Enterprise I always dive bomb kaga just to remind those players of midway. A thing i do to increase my planes' survival is to use islands as cover as much as possible. Start your run or come into for the attacks from the cover of an island. I it will cause the enemy ship aa to activate late. This is how i dive bomb island hugging ships. As a shokaku player this is how i deal with des moines players.
Love aircraft carriers though one thing i would like to see is secondary guns being used as aa protection or the main guns of alanta and certain destroyers can be used to shoot planes down like battlestations pacific
Manually controlling anti-aircraft guns would: 1) Be too complicated to implement (If they ever had the notion to implement manually controlled AA armament, I HIGHLY doubt it would function like BSP where you point at planes and extreme aim assist does all the hard work for you) 2) Be hardly used at all, as you won't ever be switching to the aforementioned manual AA armament in the middle of a fight (when 90% of carriers attack), rendering the feature useless.

Immediately after you launch planes, just click RT and drop part of your munitions. Those aircraft will go safely back to the carrier 👍🏻

They are slowly being implemented. Started with IJN and USN. Then Kriesmarine and finally the Royal Navy. We will see what's next!
