    One thing to keep in mind Seth that I don't see many people talking about, as I'm sure you are well aware, is how slow the play is getting relayed in. When they're breaking the huddle far too many times I've seen the clock at 5-8 seconds, set at 3 and snapped at 2. There's no time to motion or call many protection swaps. Bobby has handicapped CJ this season, and with the abysmal play calling. He's done CJ no favors and far too many people are putting this all on CJ. Misplaced hate, poor play calls, horrible blocking, always asked to bail them out on 3rd and long... no wonder his timing, confidence and everything else seems to be off and rattled. Hell, he's probably stressed out to no end. Which is why we're seeing the overthrows and easy picks coming now. All the people yelling at him to get rid of it earlier when there's basically no one open. Bad year but nothing a few well timed victories this year to help to settle him back. This offseason regardless how this one ends, they MUST address this line, and the play calling. Stop with the failed screens and running right into the heart of the defense so frequently. That alone will help out a ton.

      Sad to see CJ made him look good last year. We've seen what he can do and it's not very good. He's as stubborn as BOB with calling the same plays over and over with bad results.

      I completely agree with you. I know CJ has not played as well as he could, but he has a high ceiling. I think it's a lot on him and it came out in KC when he had that emotional breakdown.

    Seth, I have to agree with the majority. Bobby takes entirely too long to call plays. This offense has no hustle when getting into/out of the huddle. He needs to have a greater sense of urgency. When we run, CJ seems to not be doing box counts, changing the direction of plays or doesn’t have the time to use motion to create more advantageous matchups. While the center calls the line shifts, CJ has the responsibility of identifying the blitz, and making sure to keep backs/tighteneds in to give him time and pick up the blitz. Bobby is responsible for helping CJ identify blitzes with film study. This doesn’t seem to be happening. My issue is that the play calling nets too many negative plays and leads to 3rd and longs. Bobby was relying on CJ heavily last season to bail him out of bad players calls, and has leaned similarly on Mixon this season to do the same in the run game. The run blocking has been an issue for 2 years, this line’s blocking is more opportunistic than consistent. I also look at how none of the role players in the skill position have had roles created for them. He has failed to use game plans to get Nico involved the past 2 games. He was force feeding Diggs before his injury, and we only saw Tank get involved when he was the only starter in 1 game. I have no faith in Bobby to fix these issues. I also believe that Bobby had a hand in selecting his offensive staff and is also to blame for Strausser/McDaniels. I believe we need a more experienced OC, CJ is playing hero ball, and Bobby has failed to reel him back in. CJ’s mechanics and footwork have been off. CJ has also made no effort to throw passes away as he did last year.

    I’m Starting to wonder how bad this line really is. Good coaching can do wonders for an offensive line no matter the talent. New England in the Brady years had one of the best Oline coaches of all time Dante scharnecchia and they could always plug and play guys and look good. We have a pro bowl left tackle and a lot of investment at other positions. They can’t all be busts besides Kenyon green. Im putting more blame on the O line coaching rather the guys that we have.

    Nit even going to finish the video. It’s week 18. What’s going to change now? He is in charge of this offense and he apparently can’t handle the position at this point. Regardless of how he feels. Most negative yards in the league! Well let’s stop throwing the ball horizontally. Where’s the safety guy? No slant routes? All these things help when oline is struggling. Never throws wheel routes. Mixon can catch with the best of them. It just doesn’t add up

  • @Krautski

    What everybody keeps forgetting is that after abysmal years 2020-2022, Texans are in 2nd year of starting over with their new Franchise QB. Texans shouldn't even be making Playoffs, let alone win the Division at this point. Yes, AFC South is bad but that more difficult schedule has done the team no favour....-it did the exact opposite. I love winning like anybody else, don't get me wrong, but this re-build to becoming a contender is behind the schedule we are now forced to play... Texans not there yet. And it showed against teams like Ravens and Lions (who took how long to be where they are now...?)
    So i think the fan base needs to be realistic where this team's at. Rome wasn't built in 1 day and neither does building a good and competitive team that actually is a contender for the SB.

    Their top priority from this point forward should be the OL, until they get it right. That means personnel, coaches, schemes, everything. All 1st and 2nd round picks should be spent on the OL until they can stumble into enough studs to put together a top line OL. Until this is done, the offense and the whole team will continue to circle the drain, and we’ll end up wasting another top draft pick quarterback.

    • @xJellyMx
      @xJellyMx 18 дней назад
