I think he is officially on pace to be the goat. But merckx still has 2 more TDF GCs 17 more stages in the TDF more monument more world champs and more of every grand tour stat imaginable.
It wasn’t stupid. It was brave, you followed your instincts and you matched the challenge, thanks for inspire so many people. The flip side, oh Remco - grab the bull by the horns! Great from O’Connor, he did it again!!
Genius move. Pog saying “it was stupid move” actually translates to “i have the ability to read the race, and a sense of my ability to make the big moves stick”
Pogi made the sport so much more fun to watch with his passionate, crazy and impressive riding style. Huge congrats to Pogi but also to Ben for a spectacular silver medal 👏
Crazy, stupid but successfull and really unique..i mean with Tadej POGACAR we see a way of Cycling everybody thought was just the past and only heard by the tales of the old people..with POGACAR Cycling is epic again
Pretty rude to start the interview with Ben O'Connor like that, he came 2nd and first thing you bring up is he doesn't have the power to beat the guys he just beat 🤨
Nah, he's saying "You don't have the power to outsprint the guys, so well done on finding a better way of beating them". Ben knows 100% that had he come to 400m to go in the bunch, he would not have a medal.
Remco should be take a page from MvdPs interview skills. If he won't win, he always seems so bitter. Everyone would be, but those negatives vibes... Kudos to the interviewer 👌
Yeah the attack was stupid. But Tadej makes it look like he is playing games on easy mode. He is just so much better then anybody else in the peloton right now. Amazing world champion! Love to see him in the WC jersey. Little bit scared of his dominance tho, as these kinds of showings of greatness are making the races a bit boring to watch.
Team Belgium with such strong line up failed big time to let Pogačar get away. Tgey must have remained on his wheel no matter what for as long as possible.
97 kilometers escaped 👀 Pogačar is a spectacular cyclist, having a 41 second lead with 70 km to go as a reference point is understandable. But I don't understand how there is no coordination to chase. One, two put their chests to the wind and the others stretch, adjust their uniform, the last one looks back to see if the ice cream cart is coming🤷🏻♂️ They were more attacks than organization, let them save it for the last kilometer. Who cares about being the fastest at kilometer 40, 30, 22 if you're not even in the fight for medals. Today's cyclists boast about the number of watts but ignore strategy, reading the race and common sense. Not capturing him among 10 goes against physics. "The King is dead, long live the king", "Le roi est mort, vive le roi". Ps. Ben Healy, Skujins👏
Tadej not only had the strongest legs, but he read his competition perfectly. Riders don't have their normal teams, so it is much more difficult to organize a chase. Everyone was attacking and riding for themself. I also think that MVDP being in the chase, was a very big reason that it was not organized as nobody wanted to drag MVDP to the line!
@@brentrasmussen2440And in Strade Bianche and Paris-Roubaix 2024 or the two Liège-Bastogne-Liège that Remco won, why didn't they chase? Today Matteo Jorgenson denied Remco Evenepoel a relay and Ben O'Connor was at the back of the group just to use two examples. Pogačar won and everyone lost without putting up a fight at the level of a World Championship. Van der Poel was the one who spent the most time chasing.
This is why he’s the best. Even when the plan changes, you commit and push through. A real legend, I’ll tell my kids about him
Stupid magnificent winner! 😂. Such an incredible performance!❤️. He rides with the passion of a kid riding a bike for the first time…
2024 the year of Pogi! So many epic long range attacks. Chapeau to Ben for a super last couple months.
Tadej Pogacar is officially the goat of cycling
Muahahah...🤣😂

If you think prime merckx beats prime tadej, youre delusional
Eddy Merckx attacked several times in his career from 100+kms.... so relax
Congrats to Tadej and great to see Ben O'Connor up there as well.

Exactly the break was dangerous you need to bridge and get to the front without towing everyone else. Pog rode it perfectly
Love this guy. He reads the race, he’s a genius!!
What's important is he gave it his all! It was a great ride TPog!
Well done Ben , great season .
Absolute legend!

Looks actually tired for the first time in 2024. What a champ!
Congrat,Pogi.Your plan works perfectly well.👏👏👏
75KM alone, 95km when he attacked

Can't understand how tall Ben is but so nimble on a crazy course like this. Amazing athlete.
It's just great to see Ben O'Connor reach his potential this year. Kudos
Not stupid, he banked on the chasers bickering, cat and mousing thinking he made a mistake going early, so it paid off
After the Giro, Ben have known that one cannot get too close to the sun and get burnt. Stay with your own pace.
Well done Ben and all the Aussie's.
Epic retro legendary win
The strategy almost doesn’t matter when you have a whole 50 more watts than the best in the peloton. He is a freak amongst freaks. ❤

Why did Vingegaard not participate in the Worlds?
because he only races to win?

Which jersey will Tadej wear if he's also the GC leader?
In any Tour he'll wear the leader's jersey temporary, not the Rainbow.
