    Love the old quilt series. I also try to understand what she was thinking while she was sewing. They are all so beautiful.

      Thank you so much! Glad you like this series! I really enjoy sharing my collection with the world. I also love to think about that! It’s fun to imagine what was going on in the maker’s life, what they were thinking/doing, all of it. Glad I’m not the only one. 🥰 Thank you so much for watching and sharing!

    sure love a plaid quilt and this one is exceptional in it's construction. and color. I liked when you picked it up at the end and cuddled it, and so wanted you to hold it up in person so we could see the movement. Just subscribed. see you next week.

      Thank you so much! Good idea about holding it up! Although I am 5'2", so maybe I need a stand or something. LOL! I will see what I can do! Thanks for watching, subscribing, and commenting. This is what its all about!

    I wonder if the appliqué has something to do with getting those lines straight? Beautiful quilt and thank you for making this video, it's given me some ideas. I have had a man quilt in my mind for a while now. I might experiment with a few pieces first! It never occurred to me that I would run into problems with Plaids and straight lines but now that you mention it, I'm so glad you talked about this. Great info, thank you.

      So sorry! I currently have this quilt packed up since we are remodeling, but I will have to look. That said, you can make this pattern in any size, as long as you consistent. I hope this helps.

    Truly an interesting quilt. Do you wash your antique quilts?

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  3 года назад

      Great question! Sometimes I do, but not always. It really depends on how soiled they are, how stable they are, and how old they are. I usually use Bizz (you can get it at Walmart) to wash the quilts when I do. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Were the pieces of this quilt appliqués onto a piece of muslin?

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  3 года назад

      It doesn't appear that way. It looks like the maker actually appliqued pieces together. Thanks for watching and commenting!
