@@debrabander6892 Which is quite likely, given that this device costs very, very little but can do a lot. The amount that went into the DAC is going to be pennies, let alone any money left for all the stuff a good DAC needs. There is a reason why good DACs can cost in the thousands. Also, what is very important is that the device does not resample. I have a Nvidia Shield TV which does resample (like most devices probably), and as a result the digital signal sounds bad. With most devices, that appears to be the case. The original Chromecast Audio did not resample, and as such on the second hand market it trades for twice the original price tag... for a 7 year old device. Also, having SPDIF rather than HDMI for digital audio is important (and very rare) too, as using a HDMI extractor / splitter / whatever you may want to call it can mess up the digital signal to the point of constant audio breakups. Getting good audio over streaming is hard. Very hard. (And it isn't because streaming services don't send out high quality files).
Can it also connect to Google home smart speakers as the chromecast audio, (CA)? Does it also have hi res audio with a mini toslink output as the CA? Can it interface as smoothly in apps as the CA? Yet the CA is also cheaper... I'm still wondering what different features this device has over the CA?
currently no replacement for chromecast, i have both versions , the sound quality with google play subscription is just fantastic. bluetooth is NFG for good music.
£20 of ebay UK now cheaper than the cheapest Chromecast. As for loyalty to google, personally I dont have any. The Audiocast works perfectly to transmit or receive and the software is great to. I think this device is really good and can highly recommend it, having paired it to my Teac amp thro Wharfdale speakers I dont see any noticeable difference to hard wiring. Thumbs up from me, thanks for the review.
Nope. I actually started with the audio cast and it was always problematic. We have 3 and sometimes the app would only detect one, then you'd have to try to reboot/ setup again to get it working. I got several chromecast audios at the closeout sale and had kept them in a drawer. Until yesterday when the audiocast in my den died. I replaced it with a CCA and got it set up within minutes from the app without any messing about. Device is half the thickness and quality is great. It's resurrected the pricey dud speakers (parrot zikmu) that I'd got from credit card points redemption.
Is it possible to use this in the way bluetooth receivers work? Just connect it to your phone / PC and all the sound that gets "played" on the device streams to your speaker?
This is no way as good as chromecast If its sound quality you are after then the difference is like night and day Ive had chromecast for 2 years and was given Audio cast as a present sent it back 3 days later NO comparison chromecast all the way I cant see why anyone would even consider audiocast
Does this support ethernet and optical out like the Chromecast Audio? If not, deal breaker for high end. Yes, the Chromecast Audio is a high end device when wired in with optical output which can pass perfect 24/96, which is mastering quality beyond what the human ear can hear.
Can it be cast to from a chrome browser? If so does it then do the "heavy lifting" like a chromecast for video does?i.e. you can set a stream running then switch the computer off leaving say my Deezer favourite tracks running for hours?
IS it possible to plug a (chromecast device whit HDMI) in audio receiver or an audio amplifier in order to transmit a digital signal to a DAC of an audio device??????
Just get a second hand Chromecast Audio for $20. It has a hybrid 3.5mm/toslink mini optical output. The audio quality is light-years away from this imitation.
No comparison at all... just an opinion... based on nothing but a 'feeling'
Google chromecast audio has a mini toslink digital output. Link it up to your amp for high quality output
Only if the build in DAC in de amplifier is better. It is a digital signal.
Does my Google infrastructure connect to it? In other words, does Google stream to it?

Chromecast Audio connected to my Chord 2Qute dac is a game changer. Better quality than analog output of the CCA.

Can I stream RUclips music to this cast?
You haven’t reviewed it or compared it to cca as indicated in the title?

Does it work with your existing Chromecast audio?

Hello. Does it work with google home or google assistant?
no

I guess so, that’s how spotify does it really
Sir what is difference between Bluetooth and this
Could it work with iOS devices?
HI Buddy! I am wondering if you can stream spotify from iphone to audiocast without having a spotify premium account?

Well as of now Chromecast Audio is discontinued. Do you have any recommendations for a better streaming device?
Can it work with google asistance?

who cares if Spotify Premium works at 256 kbps only
@@barteczkowy But Tidal and Deezer don't..
Would this work in conjunction with and existing home using Chromecast audio devices
If I connect this to some powered speakers or dac, can I play music with amazon echo using voice control?
Correction: No button to enable Wi-Fi only to setup Wi-Fi with WPS. Wi-Fi is always on.
Will it work on a TV with DTS Play-fi?
Hi..... I saw the lag between tracks with Audiocast. Does Google Chromecast Audio also have the same kind of lag? As that can be a deal breaker.
There is little to no lag on a Chomecast Audio. Most 3rd party options have lag and delay
Can i connect the Audiocast to Sound system and using my mobile as Wirless MIC ?
what about youtube?
Right that's what I figured I could do with Chromecast audio which you cannot making it pretty useless
Can it be cast to from a chrome browser? If so does it then do the "heavy lifting" like a chromecast for video does?i.e. you can set a stream running then switch the computer off leaving say my Deezer favourite tracks running for hours?
on PC, it works better with iTuners(airplay) and Footbar.
Chromecast Audio was discontinued so I had to put this on my Christmas list.
It's available on eBay and certain Best Buy's.
I have one unopened if you are willing to give me what I paid and postage
@@lifewithherbthedog6509 can you give it to me ? my email is leonsaha@gmx.de please contact me
@Rob Mottola I asked first!
LEON SAHA ok
Can you cast youtube to it?
No. Like the video description, title and content is about its audio only
@@coppervsglass yes, I meant youtube music audio.
Bought 3, 2 got bricked while getting the first update
Can you review the Eufy Genie or compare it to the Amazon Echo Dot?
At the moment im finding it hard getting hold of one. Its not available in the UK just yet but will keep trying
IS it possible to plug a (chromecast device whit HDMI) in audio receiver or an audio amplifier in order to transmit a digital signal to a DAC of an audio device??????
yes its possible
wheres youtube streaming?!
I was thinking the same......
Funny why not direct sending the sound to the Bluetooth speaker, you don't need this device.
what do you think is better? wifi streaming vs Bluetooth?
Just for simplicity I would go with Bluetooth buddy
Wifi will be much better audio quality.
Bluetooth drains your phone/laptop battery and will also use data for many apps..
Definetly Audiocast
Thanks for posting the review.
Your welcome
stop the music when talking

Where do you find them for $20
They cost around 100$+ here
Good Video!
Thanks for watching buddy
Copper vs Glass No problem man I hope you grow into a big youtuber like Austin Evans. :)
greattttt music taste!
Could it work with Google Home Mini?
