Don't judge from this video...you really have to experience them in person. There are bands that are loud, and then there are bands like APTBS that are loud to the point of disorientation. The sheer volume of the music, combined with the strobe lights and smoke machines, leads to a sensory overload/sensory deprivation that is pretty intense.
Yeah that's a bit of a silly point to make. The vocals are delivered like that on purpose as is the case with many shoegaze/noise bands ie Autolux. It wouldn't work as well any other way. Nothing wrong with the lyrics from my end.
Despite what you may think, being able to play one's instrument does not hinder creativity. Real music comes from people who are passionate and believe in what they are doing. I liked this performance. I like Led Zeppelin.
In a sense it does, a person who is classically trained knows stuff and how to "properly" play it. But a person who picks it up, and teaches them self adds humanism too it. Not playing every note perfect. Sure they can write good stuff, but it doesnt mean its gonna have the same feeling. And Zepplin, they may be good. But listen to the guitars, there is lots of sloppiness, thats the humanism aspect. Hendrix was the same. Real people playing music.
essentially yes. Look at old blues musicians. They never called themselves musicians. They were people playing the blues. I personally don't listen to nor like the Beatles or Led. What im trying to say is, people who go out and tell people "oh im a musician" or "Im an artist" are making a point to show you thats who they are. When in fact, playing music, painting, etc is just something you do. I may just lack an ego. but still, go look up bad news from owen.
It doesnt matter if hes a musician or not, anyone with ears can tell hes a drummer. Tell me what your definition of a drummer is, my faceless friend (wow that sounds like a cool band name lol)
I get you but on the flip side if you had a really powerful siner you'd just end up thinking "keep quiet I'm trying to listen to the guitar here!" Theres one thing you pay your money for with APTBS and it aint the the bass, the drums, the vocals or the lyrics!
What does that mean? Real music comes from people who are not classically trained. Real music comes from people who pick up an instrument, and teach them selves what they can. Blues, Punk, Crust, Grind, hardcore, etc etc are all just people who happen to make music. If you consider yourself a musician you're egotistical. Real muscians create an emotion more than a sound.
I hate to sound like a prick and quote his song but "its what you do, not who you are" they are people trying to put titles on things to make them "stand out."
I love the energy and guitar noise, but the lyrics and Oliver's singing makes it really hard for me to enjoy APTBS. I saw them live, and it was the best live show I've ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating one bit. Just please, please work on better lyrics, and practice singing more.
This particular version is pretty haunting. I love this.
The vocals remind me of Mote by Sonic Youth! Love it!
Me too! It's like a creepier version of it.
One of the loudest bands i ever saw live. A small room does not do them justice
I like your first comment, but disagree with the second. The smallest room is the best place to bury a stranger.
I like this song and their sound. This is the best band to come along in years. I like their style. They are definitely noise merchants.
This is some amazing Ummagumma-pockrock shit!! Me encanto mucho
Holy shit that jam at the end is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
Hey I remember this band, they used to be The Jesus and Mary chain. J/k, I can appreciate what there doing. Good to see the sound isn't dead.
i hear ya. They take it further, though
the best APTBS lineup
Deffo
If I have one problem with this - its just not loud enough.
HE REALLY FEELS THE MUSIC.

Slowdive, Ride and Lush in my mind
and Jesus and Mary Chain
just bought this tune and need to check out others and must see them live based on lead guitars antics! wonder if there is an acoustic version ;-)
hope that jag was 18
Wow.. Amazing :)

love the jaguar
Awesome!
holy shit, that reverb...
Wow
its fucking amazing
sounds very similar to Beach Song by Slowdive..
you re fucking right!!!! it is very similar!! a different tone but listen all two i prefer this one ( it can be considererd a cover )

FUCKING AMAZING \m/
slowdive - beach song
MAN!! I love APTBS but sometimes the drummer's rolls sound shitty when he plays faster than he can.
The outro is like some sort of sick train!!
Is he a virtual drummer?
shoegazin'
I didn't know that Danny Boyle was playing bass guitar

Me gustan algunas canciones de ellos pero de a veces hacen mucho ruido innecesario
How do I make vocals like these?? Anyone?
Reverb, reverb & reverb xD
RUUUUUUUUUUUUIIIIDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
@minedarea
you just dont get anything at all

love the band, they were hypnotizing and just great live....but this sucks completely for unknown reasons :D

Cortez Gagnon real music is whatever people like to hear. Music is decided by the consumer just as much as it is the creator.
@BlackMonkey24Jaguar is nice Jazzmaster is better !
Wow, these guys sound sort of bogus live.
Leftover Crack/Choking Victim/Morning Glory/Just about any punk/crust band proves my theory.
I hate to sound like a prick and quote his song but "its what you do, not who you are" they are people trying to put titles on things to make them "stand out."

Are these jerks able to do anything else than making horrible noise and trashing beautiful Fender guitars? ....i guess not...
hey, man, fuck off.
The Noise is the beautiful part!
Go and listen to fucking Metallica dude!
The bass is a Gibson, dumbass metallica fan.
yeah, you can trash cheap guitars but not a fender jaguar with matching headstock!!! it is murder :P
