- This video looks at the effect of UV light on microbial growth, specifically comparing the effect of endospores versus vegetative cells. This is a video for General Microbiology Lab (Bio 210L) at Orange Coast College (Costa Mesa, CA).
These are GREAT lectures! Very well explained and clear. Thank you for the videos Julie Wells. 😇❤
Thank you for these lectures !!!
Great explanation.thanks alot
Very nice video. Thank you.
Great job!!! Thank you
I guess it's kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to stream new movies online?
Thank you very much. Very nice explanation.
I have a doubt, so as u said, UV light can lead to DNA mutations and the cell's death. Are there any instances where the mutations formed inside the bacterial cell did not kill them but made them more lethal and resistant? .... I hope someone can help me with this question.
Very nice! How can I contact you?
Dr. Julie, what was your initial concentration of bacteria plated? I tried this experiment with a coliform I isolated from pool water samples and treated it with UVA and UVC light, neither made a visible dent in the population. I treated with UVA for 30 sec, 1 min, 2 min, but they grew as confluent as the control. I repeated with a UVC light and the issue persists. I am going to serially dilute to see if concentration is the culprit, but your experiment doesn’t seem to be affected by this factor. Any thoughts?
reply me i need your help please 😊
