I'm a PhD student in Microbiology who has never taken a formal microbiology course. I'm watching your videos in preparation for my comprehensive exam. Your videos are a lifesaver! Just know you are serving as a support system for this first-generation Latina in microbiology; thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this. When my eyes are too tired I study this way and it really helps until I can get food and sleep to absorb the material. You're awesome.

Thank you for posting your videos. They are a tremendous help in learning about microbiology. More importantly however, thank you from the bottom of my feminist heart, for including the information about Rosalind Franklin’s MAJOR contribution to the discovery of DNA’s structure! Women’s roles in scientific discoveries are too often overlooked.

Thank you for making this. I'm taking microbiology right now and my professor half explains things and flies through the material and I'm feeling very overwhelmed. The book we are using is Microbiology: An Introduction (13th Edition), but I figured that the majority of the information on this topic should be the same. Thank you for explaining these complicated topics slowly and clearly. I really enjoyed the cookbook analogy.

Can plasmids from our food pass their genes to our cells? Or can our cells absorb the dna from our food cells? Will we then be like what we eat?

This is painful/distracting for me to listen to because of all the microphone 't' and 'p' and 'f' sounds. I might be more sensitive than others. I had to pause/stop the video 5.5 minutes in.
