Thank you from a Croydon born to Jamaican parents the year Bob and Rita Married and Haili Selassi visited Jamaica RIP to all these people who put us on the map not to forget Fabián with her song Prophecy x
Culture Joseph Hill and Israel Vibration, The Gladiators , Abyssinian , The Congos, Wailing Soul, The Itals, Aswad ,Jacob Killa Miller and Inner Circle,Third World , Alpha Blondy the only Reggae Artist in recording with The Wailers Original Android many more
Every reggae artist send their message in different ways.. i cannot or may not agrue this ...they are all famous and they all send out positive vibes past or present...
Love, Honor and Respect to all the great Reggae and Dancehall Artists who pave the way for Reggae and Dancehall Music to reach it full potential. However, you are still missing some of the the most important artists. Black Uhuru, Inner Circle, Third World, Culture, Israel Vibration, Ken Booth, Delroy Wilson, Tenor Saw, Professor Nuts, Garnet Silk, Capleton, Jah Cure, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Mavado, Vybz Kartel and many more.
That's your opinion. John holt, culture, delroy wilson, third world are just a few greater artistes that deserve respect. Secondly, there has been no civil war in Jamaica. While there was violence, it was localized in just a few areas. I used to live in an area located between 2 violent communities. In our community we could still sleep with our doors open back then. Even now violence is mainly limited to specific areas.
I really thought Garnett Smith aka granett silk, Morgan Heritage, Peter Tosh, Tenor Saw, and many other great artist would make this list, perhaps you need to make a top 100 best artist list, just saying 🙏🏿💯💪🏿
Well ......so are many others like Joseph Hill of Culture, Dub poet Oku Onuora, and Israel Vibration ..etc. They all lived by their Rastafarians principles reflected in their music.
Thank you for having Bob Marley as the #1 because he is a giant. There will never be anyone else like that statue that will be able to play reggae music as passionate and honesty his playing as character.
Logical choice. Bob's contributions can never overstated. Though he didn't introduce reggae, he stamped that genre onto the world's consciousness in deep powerful ways and cemented its status as one of the world's most popular music genre.
Having Lucky Dube ahead of Burning Spear, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Joseph Hill's Culture, Steel Pulse including 2 acts that aren't even mentioned here: Third World snd Black Uhuru, is DEAD CRAZY 😂😂😂😂😂
@@davidcupples7622 Don't worry my friend. You're not missing all that much..The guy's good but certainly a few notches below the Reggae "Monsters"👹 you've just named😁😁
I like Lucky Dube so much but he cannot be number 2. Tosh should rank higher than him and I think many Jamaican artists. Anyway this is an IMPOSSIBLE task, listing the best by numbering because even Bob can be beaten on some lists. I would rank Tosh, Culture, Bob as number ones. I think while Bob is considered the GOAT , Tosh is the Ayatollah of Reggae and Culture is the Master. Raw talent and Lyrics, guitar work, Tosh is something else. Bob brought reggae to the mainstream with a more positive message. Tosh was melancholiac with tough poetic lyrics, listen to the song burial, stepping razor.
Lucky Dube Isn't Really That Good He Doesn't Even Sound Like Reggae More Like Afro Pop Should Have Never Consider Him As A Revelent Reggae Artist At All
Where's Alton Ellis, and as you said, Ken Boothe? All these artists you mentioned winning Grammy's get these awards because reggae category is slim. They have to give these awards to someone.
Hmm I just know you would put Bob first .SMH am not saying he wasn't a good singer but you guys are bias never seen the works of other great singers tosh will always be my no 1
Lucky dube number two ? IT 'S a joke...respect jamaicans artists who shaped reggae music..Black uhuru(first reggae grammy awards) Third world,Max romeo, jacob miller and many others are better than him...
Reggea Artists to include Yellowman ?.Mr.Winston Yellowman Foster is the King of Dancehall .He is more a Dancehall Artiste than a Reggea Artist even as Dancehall is a son of Reggae .
Peter Tosh is number 4. You gotta be smoking the wrong HERBS. The number ONE and TWO ranks should be between Peter Tosh and Bob Marley. Jimmy Cliff should be number 3.
Dennis Brown, Gregory isaacs, Horace andy, Johnny clarke, hugh mundell, Barry Brown, mikal prophet, burning spear, Nevill Thompson, mikal rose. And damian marley. Garnett silk jnr Delgado, desi roots
.
