Son Bob is amazingly introspective and mature for a teenager. Both the kids are quite exceptional and thankfully they have each other to talk to. I am not questioning Emily's ultimate decision but what surprises me is that she didn't seem to even consider the effect it would have on her children and her wife so that she could initiate conversations and actions to try to make the transition easier for them as well. Clearly the kids would benefit from professional guidance from a psychologist. I find it odd that a Minister, who counsels others, would be so out-of-touch with the likely emotional fallout from her own family. I hope they all eventually make peace with this. The Judge is amazing.
Yes i agree with you! Do you think that if society generally accepted the decision to transition, Emily would have done so earlier, this avoiding a situation like this?
This is so heartbreaking and frustrating. As the judge said Emily actually put them through a lot A LOTTTT!!! May this kind of love never find me. So Emily said that she knew she was a woman for her whole life than why tf she got married to a straight woman is what I'm trying to understand. This seems super selfish.
I definitely think that the judge made the right choice, as it is in the kid's best interest. It would've been better if Emily hadn't waited so long, but it is what it is. I do understand where the mum is coming from though - Emily may have transitioned, but she is NOT their mom. She is, and always will be their father. I think that they should allow the boys to decide on how they address Emily, but I don't think it's fair for her to say, "I want them to call me mom". They have a mom. And I also have a problem with her telling them that they weren't allowed to let anyone in her building hear them call her dad, and putting HER feelings ahead of there's. I also have a problem with her buying her kids bribes (for a better word), to "make up for" how they're feeling ( especially David), and making Bob feel like he has to take on a more parental role due to the circumstances they are in. Emily needs to start putting her kids first for once, and stop making everything about her feelings. I hope this family is able to come to an understanding, where everyone is happy - especially for the kids . I do believe they are both just trying to do what they think is right, but no quite getting there. So counselling is the best thing for them at this time.

I have no issues with people living their life the way they want but the way Emily went about it is very narcissist way of seeing things . Not one thought about what this would do to the children ! 🤯A whole family is destroyed and kids are in counselling because of it ! Very selfish ! Live and let live don’t mean this !
