- In this video I discuss our decision to buy a car in Europe vs. shipping our car from the U.S. I also discuss ways to legally register your car as a non-EU citizen, insuring the car in Europe and the taxes required to import a car vs buying a car.

Bulgaria is the hottest place for digital nomads 💯🤘……. Absolutely amazing informative video .
Very informative. Thanks for posting your video m
Thank you.

Turns out if you car is imported to Andorra from anywhere but Europe you will have to pay an additional 10% above the 4.5% and still have to pass certification probably similar to Europe.
I have to laugh. I just stumbled on to you video and happen to be staying in Andorra tonight and tomorrow night. My problem is a little different. My wife of two years has had a US car in Spain for a while now. We are trying to get it certified which is turning out to be a big deal. It's 2004 Jeep Liberty and almost impossible to find ECE of E-Code parts to pass the inspections. We finally got temporary tags. Fun stuff.
Yeah, it is the biggest pain! We ended up not getting a car after all and just rented as needed.
Thanks for the video it was very informative. Wonder from where you got the shipping price quote.
I believe it was CFR. I’m sure prices have gone up substantially along with everything else.
Excellent. Did you make it to Europe? Did you buy a van? One thing I do not understand if you buy in Germany, NL, or wherever you get temp plates, but what about temp insurance to get the vehicle to Andorra? Thanks!!
We did make it to Europe (you can watch our other videos on our channel) we did not end up buying a van. You can also get insurance in Andorra when you register a vehicle there. Thank you for watching! 😊
Does anybody know if Andorra still has the MT plate program? I tried the ACA but no reply.
Folks, I've checked you channel, looks like you still didn't buy a vehicle. What are you guys going to do with wheels, going to get any?
Hi there! Thank you for watching! We have decided not to buy a car. We have rented a couple, but in the main cities, it's actually more of a hassle and costs more to have a car than not. The public transport has been really good everywhere so we decided against it.
@@chasingcheckmate thank you for the update
Hondas do not exist in Europe for all practical purposes.
Apart from the difficulties of getting a US car to Europe what about learning the rules of the road? Getting a drivers license in the US is laughable compared to what you have to know in theoretical rules plus the driving test over here. With only US road knowledge you are a danger on our roads in my opinion.
