I think the reason having the Japanese "learner driver" symbol on your car outside of Japan became thing is because of drifting.
Drifters would put it on their cars as a tongue in cheek way of saying they where "learning to drift" (drifting being a Japanese sport done predominantly in Japanese cars).
When drifting became popular copying drifters car style blindly took off.
I think over time the tongue in cheek meaning was lost and "ricers" took it on as a symbol of how JDM they are lol
I got the learner sticker because I've literally had my license a year so far. I know what it means, and wanted it.
I would like to say that singlehandedly i will make RUclips recommend sammits old videos.
It's hilarious seeing your older videos and seeing your wife be so nervous and shy on camera and now she is seem to love being on camera and is confident

They do, however it is a small read decal on your license plate.

I knew what it meant I just didn't care... why does it matter that it means learner it's still an interesting thing.
I even used to have some in my wardrobe because they're cool.
I know what they mean and still like them.
